- Costume and Wardrobe Department
- Additional Crew
At age 16, during his final year of high school Levi Woods obtained his
first job as an usher at the local cinema. Trained as a projectionist,
Levi soon became management and continued his employment there until
Dec 2004. In 1997, he attended a local community college taking
computer programming but instead opted to start his own business doing
graphic design. Utilizing his animation experience his focus shifted
from computer generated to live-action. His first videos were usually
special effects based and relied heavily on post-production. That all
changed when he entered into a Bachelor's of Fine Arts program at
University of British Columbia Okanagan in the fall of 2000. Levi used
the visual arts to modify his thinking of filmmaking and developed his
strong sense of visual story telling. Also sculpture became a medium
that deeply changed his films as custom hand made props became integral
to each film.
In the summer of 2002 Levi took a job as an editor at MCTR productions,
this gave him access to a multitude of television and commercial
projects. It also, after only 3 weeks of employment, gave him his first
chance at directing for television. The next summer Levi moved to
Vancouver where he had the opportunity to work on big budget movie sets
such as Paycheck (2003), Miracle (2003) and Walking Tall (2004). Upon
receiving his BFA in 2004 Levi worked on his own independent projects
before taking a job as a senior videographer on board a cruise ship.
This allowed him to travel and gain experience shooting documentary,
and commercial video. Again finding himself in Vancouver in early 2005
Levi worked as a props assistant on Fido (2006) and then took an
assistant property master position on The Engagement Ring (2005)
(TV).
