Rebecca Tranter, originally from San Antonio, Texas, for the past 25 years she now resides in London, England maintaining her industry relationships on both sides of the Atlantic. She is a Producer, Writer, Director in her own right, and a Creative and Development specialist to the film industry.
She initially trained as an actor at the then infamous Adam Roarke Film Actors Lab in Dallas, Texas. She decided to leave Texas and continue her training in London.
On arriving in England she then turned her hand to write, direct and produce her own award-winning short films (Tainted Wings, Secrets Of Innocence) as well as working with other writers/directors to develop and produce award-winning productions ( Benjamin's Struggle, the BBC funded Trapped, The Bent Penny,) in the short film genre.
During her time producing short films, she was employed for 8 ½ years as a practitioner teacher of Drama and Theatre Studies in a private boarding school. There she directed youth theatre giving performances such as the musical "Grease" and "Children of a Lessor God", "The Birthday Party" etc. She sat on the SouthWest regional committee of "Equity" and was on the steering committee of the then "North American Actors Association". She also was judge to local film society and film festivals in the SouthWest and the Cotswolds.
Now fully focusing on full-length feature film, Ms. Tranter has produced the award-winning (Monaco Film festival 2014) and international festival hit, the coming of age, British feature film "Fear Of Water" starring Lily Loveless and the horror "Blood Lust" working alongside Aristos Films (NZ). Keeping with the new era of media she has also been credited as producer of the online horror app. "The Hunting" directed by Allan Plenderleith on sale at the Apple app store.
Ms. Tranter is also a scriptwriter and script doctor in her own right. She was awarded the best Fantasy screenplay for her part in "Miles To Go Before I Sleep" at the Monaco Angel Film Awards (2014).
She has also been a production and script consultant to short and feature films in the USA as well as in the UK. To date, Rebecca and her company are in active production of several feature films set to start Principal Photography in 2020 in the USA, UK, and Europe
Ms. Tranter was honored to take part in the judging panel of the Monaco International Film Festival's Angel Film Awards and in the summer of 2015 gave a seminar on filmmaking, "Script To Screen", at the SA Film Festival in her hometown of San Antonio Texas. She is also a visiting panelist and lecturer at the University of Greenwich, London.
Rebecca is also very familiar with the financing aspects of the film industry having had worked alongside a film financing company that specialized in the securing of UK governmental tax incentive schemes.
Although, having worked in different roles for many years within the industry, 'A Better Man', is Rebecca Tranter's directorial debut.
