Surprise! Actor Victor Garber and artist Rainer Andreesen got married over the weekend. Andreesen broke the news via Instagram by sharing a picture of himself and Garber, writing, "Yes We Did! #justgotmarried #elopedintofino #canada @therealvictorgarber #after16years." Garber, meanwhile, has yet to share any photos or details via his own social media accounts. No other wedding details have been announced. Garber famously acknowledged Andreesen in a January 2013 in an interview with blogger Greg Hernandez, saying, "I don't really talk about it, but everybody knows." At the time, he also said Andreesen would be accompanying him to the Screen Actors Guild Awards later that month. Though many...

Victor Garber came out of a closet he says he was never really in during an interview this week with an online publication. Actor Victor Garber has addressed his same-sex partner in a new interview, but whether the "Deception" star's remarks constitute his official coming out is questionable.
Garber, who best known for his roles in "Alias" and "Titanic," was asked about his partner in an interview with Greg In Hollywood writer Greg Hernandez.
Hernandez writes:
"So I quickly looked at his Wikipedia page and there it was: ‘He lives in New York with his companion of 13 years, Rainer Andreesen.’ I then found all kinds of photos of this most handsome couple together.
I wondered, ‘Did he come out publicly and I missed it?’"
After Hernandez pressed him, Garber "seemed surprised by the question," but noted, "I don’t really talk about it but everybody knows." He then added, "He’s going to be out here with me for the SAG Awards."

Jodie Foster made headlines by coming out (kind of? We're still not sure what happened there) during her Cecil. B. DeMille Award acceptance speech at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, but another star just quietly confirmed his orientation to an Internet blogger.Victor Garber -- known for his roles as Jennifer Garner's father on "Alias" and the shipbuilder in "Titanic" -- confirmed that he is gay during an interview with Greg Hernandez for Greg in Hollywood. Hernandez was researching the actor, and stumbled upon the following line on Garber's Wikipedia page, "He lives in New York with his companion of 13 years, Rainer Andreesen." Confused if Garber had publicly come out and he just missed the news, Hernandez asked."He seemed surprised by the question but said: ‘I don’t really talk about it but everybody knows,'" Hernandez writes, noting that Garber then added: “He’s going to...

At the TCAs, Greg Hernandez was chatting with Victor Garber about his new show Deception. After he queried the actor on a Wikipedia entry that said he was doing Smash, Garber responded that "Wikipedia is bullshit." After they parted ways, Hernandez recalled another Wikipedia entry saying Garber was partnered for 13 years to Rainer Andreesen. So he chased him down the hotel lobby and asked him. "I don’t really talk about it but everybody knows. He’s going to be out here with me for the SAG Awards.” And that is how Victor Garber confirmed he was gay.

While Jodie Foster made her sexual orientation a public spectacle at the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills Jan. 13, Titanic actor Victor Garber quietly confirmed that he's gay in an interview with Greg in Hollywood blogger Greg Hernandez. HollywoodNews.com:Barbra Streisand’s performance of Evergreen (Love Theme from A Star Is Born) was one of the highlights of the 1977 Academy Awards ceremony.
She was at the peak of her considerable powers not only singing a song from a movie she starred in and produced, but it was a song she had written (with Paul Williams). And, she won the Oscar for best original song to go along for the Oscar she won for acting in Funny Girl.
With today being Oscar Sunday, it seems appropriate that Showtune Sunday be dedicated to a quartet of Oscar-winning songs performed on the Academy Awards telecast. Included are Streisand’s performance of Evergreen, Madonna performing Sooner or Later from Dick Tracy and Celine Dion’s powerful performance of My Heart Will Go On from The Titanic. Then there is Celine again dueting with Peabo Bryson on Beauty and the Beast.

HollywoodNews.com: Of course Brad Pitt first got my attention in that famous sex scene he had with Geena Davis in Thelma & Louise. That face! Those abs!
Twenty years later, Pitt is a bigger star than ever with a string of outstanding films to his credit including this year’s Tree of Life and Moneyball. He seems certain to earn his third Oscar nomination for the latter film.
I’m not just a fan of Brad’s because of his movies. He has also emerged as a staunch straight ally in the fight for Lgbt equality. When same-sex marriage was passed in New York earlier this year he said: “It is encouraging that New York has joined the movement to grant equal marriage rights to its citizens. But it is each American’s Constitutional right to marry the person they love, no matter what state they inhabit.

She wants to expose a breast during the broadcast: “If I can just whip one out on CNN…”

And this: ”I’m going to give Anderson what’s called a rohypnol.

When Gold Derby recently ran through the history of actors who earned Oscar nominations for playing gay and gender-bending, we didn't anticipate this to be the most Lgbt inclusive year in SAG Awards history. One quarter of today's Screen Actors Guild Awards film nominations are for lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender performances. These roles are in films set in the 19th (Glenn Close and Janet McTeer, "Albert Nobbs") and 21st centuries (Christopher Plummer, "Beginners") as well as in "J. Edgar," which spans the 20th century and got bids for Leonardo DiCaprio and Armie Hammer. Greg Hernandez has a great piece over at Gay Star News on this Lgbt-friendly trend. However, he is concerned that, besides Plummer in "Beginners," there isn't enough explicit discussion about characters' sexuality in "J. Edgar" or "Albert Nobbs" to be sure they're actually Lgbt. Surely a fiery, impassio...

McGregor talked to Frontiers In La about the movie, his popularity with gay audiences and more. Here is an excerpt:
In Beginners, your character goes through a process that’s almost like a rediscovery of his father when Christopher Plummer’s character comes out at the age of 75. Did you personally discover anything about the gay community through the making of the film that you hadn’t known beforehand?
I learned a lot about American gay history, because I think Mike [Mills, the film’s director] really beautifully explores it in the montages where he’s looking back at his father’s life as a young gay man in the early ‘50s, with...

HollywoodNews.com: Dancing With the Stars, which has had very little Lgbt representation in all its years on the air, has reportedly signed Chaz Bono as a celebrity contestant for its upcoming season.
This is Great news if it does indeed come to pass.
It’s not only a personal opportunity for the only child of Cher and Sonny Bono to take on a physical challenge, having him on such a high-profile show will be the most exposure most people will ever have had to a transgender person.
Chaz transitioned from the female Chastity Bono to the male Chaz Bono and his journey was chronicled in the documentary Becoming Chaz and the memoir Transition: the story of how I became a man.

HollywoodNews.com: Charmer: The Us Open starts on Monday and Rafael Nadal is the defending champion.
The Spanish superstar is now ranked second in the world behind Novak Djokovic who has beaten Rafa five straight times this year. But Nadal is still a formidable champion who won the French Open this year and was runner-up to Djokovic at Wimbledon.
He’s got plenty going on besides tennis right now including the release of his memoir, Rafa, and a new series of sexy modeling shots for Armani jeans and underwear.
Nadal was David Letterman’s guest on The Late Show and I must say, men’s tennis is awfully lucky to have such gracious and charismatic stars at the top of its sport as Rafa, Novak and Roger Federer.

Well, we’re going to plenty more of the impossibly handsome Matt because it’s just been announced that USA Network has renewed White Collar for a fourth season.
The cable network has ordered 16 episodes of the series in which Matt plays con man Neal Caffrey who now works as a consultant to the FBI. The series also stars Tim McKay, Tiffani Thiessen, Willie Garson and Hilarie Burton.
Production on the fourth season will start in 2012. Meanwhile, White Collar returns with six new episodes – the second half of it’s third season – in January.

HollywoodNews.com: On ‘Glee,’ their characters of Sue Sylvester and Will Schuester are comically at odds.
Off-screen, Jane Lynch and Matthew Morrison appear to be great pals. But not in this ‘Funny or Die’ parody that has them carpooling to work.
Let’s just say that Matthew gets on Jane’s last nerve with his singing along with whatever song comes on the radio.

HollywoodNews.com: If you missed the drama ‘I Love You Phillip Morris’ starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor – which was easy to do since it never got past limited release – now is your chance to catch it on DVD.
The film focuses on a love affair between a con man (Carrey) and his cellmate (McGregor). Carrey’s character commits all kinds of crazy misdeeds, like breaking out of Texas prisons four times, to be with his lover.
Carrey played Steven Russell, a man who leads a seemingly average life – an organ player in the local church, happily married to Debbie (Leslie Mann), and a member of the local police force.
Steven has a severe car accident that leads him to the ultimate epiphany: he’s gay and he’s going to live life to the fullest – even if he has to break the law to do it.

HollywoodNews.com: Neil Patrick Harris may be best known for his television roles on ‘How I Met Your Mother’ and ‘Doogie Howser M.D.’ but he’s also made plenty of movies from ‘Clara’s Heart’ opposite Whoopi Goldberg to his hilarious turns in the ‘Harold and Kumar’ flicks. He also got terrific reviews for the otherwise panned ‘Beastly’ earlier this year.
But this summer, Nph will have his biggest film role in years as a lead in the comedy ‘The Best and the Brightest.’
He plays a dad looking to get his daughter into a prestigious kindergarten in New York City. In order to impress school admissions officials, he pretends he’s a poet and ends up becoming the toast of the town.

HollywoodNews.com: Elton John did pretty well as host and musical guest on ‘Saturday Night Live’ in my opinion.
I fell asleep after the first sketch but have caught up on Hulu and the one that has him with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip is hilarious.
His monologue was a hoot!
Elton came out and told the crowd: “This is my second time here so it is perfectly appropriate for me to say: “The Bitch Is Back!”
He talked a lot about his baby son with partner David Furnish: “As you can see I still haven’t lost the baby weight.”
It was funny when he said the baby is a lot like him because “he screams and cries when he doesn’t get his way and he’s had his ups and downs with he bottle.” He said there have been feeding difficulties because the...

HollywoodNews.com: If ‘Glee’ had not added the sensational Darren Criss and the hot and pouty Chord Overstreet to its cast this season, I might have missed Jonathan Groff more.
That said, I’m so glad to have read in ‘Entertainment Weekly’ that the talented (and very cute!) Tony-nominated actor will return to the show for the final three episodes of season 2.
‘EW’ reports that Groff’s character of Jesse St. James returns to apologize to Rachel (Lea Michele) — perhaps with the intention of getting her back. In the end, he was cruel to her in season one so it will be good for the character to redeem himself.

HollywoodNews.com: When they were working together on ‘Glee,’ Matthew Morrison and Gwyneth Paltrow made beautiful music together when they dueted on “Singin’ in the Rain.”
Their characters, choir teacher Will Schuester and substitute teacher Holly Holliday became romantically involved during Paltrow’s second guest spot in February (she returns for a third episode on April 19).
But they have another collaboration going on as well: Morrison tells ‘Entertainment Weekly’ that he asked Paltrow to sing on the album during her work on ‘Glee,’ but admits the conversation was slightly awkward.
“The hardest part of doing this album was asking these people favors, like Elton [John] and her,” says Matthew. “I’m so not that guy.”
The song Matthew chose to sing with Gwyneth is one ‘Glee’ fans will remember from the last episode of the first season: “Over the Rainbow.”

She won Oscars and made classic films that we will love forever.
But it was her second act that I believe is her greatest legacy. She was in her early 50s when she became an AIDS activist and it was her most important role for the rest of her life.

When she was presented with the GLAAD Vanguard Award in 2000, she told the crowd: “I didn’t become an activist to win awards, I became an activist to help people … I knew that somebody had to do something.”

“With the passing of Elizabeth Taylor, America has lost one of its greatest talents and fiercest advocates for HIV/AIDS research. Born in England, Elizabeth became thoroughly American royalty. For more than a generation, she brought to life unforgettable characters on film, and her tireless efforts to combat AIDS brought hope to millions of people around the world. We were honored to host her at the White House in 2001 when she received the Presidential Citizens Medal for her relentless crusade for more AIDS research and better care. In founding amfAR, she raised both millions of dollars and our level of awareness about the impact of AIDS in the United States and around the world.

HollywoodNews.com: It’s not often when you meet a star whose work you admire and they end up exceeding how terrific you expected them to be.
That was the case yesterday morning when I bumped into ‘Glee’ star Darren Criss in the lobby of the office building where I now work.
I said hello and mentioned that he had been featured on this blog last December winning the 2010 Greggy for New Star of the Year. His publicist had called me that day to say Darren was excited and grateful about it which I thought was nice.
But when I saw Darren face light up when he realized who I was and had given him that honor, it was very gratifying. Then the icing on the cake: Before we parted ways, Darren gave me this wonderful heartfelt hug.

HollywoodNews.com: I flipped on the television this morning to MSNBC and heard anchor Thomas Roberts share the news that Elizabeth Taylor had died.
I felt suddenly so sad.
We knew she had been so ill but it still came as a shock much like when Lucille Ball died in 1989. Both women were in their late 70s and somehow we thought they would live forever.
And just as Lucy has, so will Elizabeth.
As a movie star crazy kid growing up in the 70s, I would devour every issue of ‘People Magazine’ and Rona Barrett’s various magazines and was particularly fascinated with Miss Taylor.
My mom had always been a big fan of the actress so whenever her movies were on television, I’d watch them with her. I didn’t really understand ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,’ ‘Suddenly Last Summer’ or ‘Butterfield 8′ when...

HollywoodNews.com: Here is compilation of Elizabeth Taylor interviews from the late ’80s and early ’90s when she was at her absolute most post-50 beautiful.
The great star, who died this morning, had lost all the weight (65 pounds!) she gained during the marriage to John Warner. I remember taping the Oprah Winfrey and Phil Donahue interviews and watching them so many times before they wore out! Donahue did a far better interview than Oprah but I believe Miss Taylor later explained that she was feeling kinda bitchy that day.
There’s also an Arsenio Hall interview here and Miss Taylor looks even more ravishing. She was a newlywed again (to Larry Fortensky), grown her hair out a bit from that spiky late ’80s look and maybe had a chin tuck. Arsenio was fun but not a great interview.

HollywoodNews.com: Nick Adams is one of the leads in the new Broadway show ‘Priscilla Queen of the Desert’ which officially opens on March 20.
It’s the biggest role to date for this talented performer who first came to fame when he was in the most recent Broadway production of ‘A Chorus Line.’
In this excerpt from an article in ‘The Daily Beast,’ Nick and his co-star Mario Lopez talk about how Nick’s buff body had to be covered up once a not-quite-as-buff Mario joined the show:
He was playing the role of Larry, the dance captain, and for the first two years, things were going well. Every night, the ridiculously fit Adams walked on stage wearing a tiny tank top and some very tight tights. But when the producers of the flailing musical brought in actor Mario Lopez to play the lead in a last-ditch effort to sell more tickets,...

HollywoodNews.com: Remember Victoria Jackson from ‘Saturday Night Live’?
She was pretty funny playing various ditzy characters on the NBC show from 1986 through 1992.
But a column she recently wrote is certainly no laughing matter when it comes to her remarks about the recent episode of ‘Glee’ where gay high school students Blaine (Darren Criss) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) share their first kiss.
