Sara Maria Ossana was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. She attended
Greenfields Country Day College Preparatory School. In her senior year,
she was the recipient of the Rhode Island School of Design's
Outstanding Senior in Art Award. After graduation, she attended Central
Arizona College in Casa Grande, Arizona for two years.
In 1998, her Central Arizona basketball team (she was a starting
two-guard, co-captain, and an Academic All-American) won the National
Junior College Women's Basketball championship with a season record of
33/1. From there she attended the University of Wyoming on a Division
One basketball scholarship. She received her undergraduate degrees from
Rice University in Houston in both English and Studio Art.
Sara completed a three-year graduate studies program at Rhode Island
School of Design with a Masters in Interior Architecture.
