Faustino Asprilla

Also known as "El Tino", he was born in Tulúa, Valle del Cauca. His career began in 1988, when he joined Cúcuta Deportivo, where he played until 1990. Then he joined Atlético Nacional and a year later he was hired by América de Cali. In 1992, he was signed by the Italian Parma FC where his performance led him to be proposed for the Golden Ball. In 1996, he joined Newcastle United where he had a great season, but due to an injury in his right knee he had to leave the game for several months. In 2000, he started playing for Palmeiras in Brazil until Atletico Nacional bought his rights. In 2003, Universidad de Chile club needed a player of trajectory and signed Asprilla who proved successful. After Chile "El Tino" returned to Colombia to play for Cortuluá, his hometown team. The match between Cortuluá and Millonarios was the last match he played as a professional. In 2004, he was signed by the Argentinean Estudiantes de la Plata, but only played two games, due to a knee injury that put an end to his career.
