Bears Te Zach Miller is finally opening up about the gruesome injury that nearly cost him his left leg ... tearing up as he describes all that's gone down in the aftermath. Miller says he knew the injury was "pretty severe" ... so when he made it to a trauma center in New Orleans, he had a simple message for the surgeons -- "Save my leg, please." Zach credits Chicago's training staff, too -- calling one assistant trainer,...

Chicago Bears tight end Zach Miller is out for the rest of the season after dislocating his knee while playing against the New Orleans Saints Sunday. The nasty injury came when he caught the pass in the end zone and landed in a way that his knee buckled under him. Dr. David J. Chao wrote in a piece for the San Diego Union-Tribune: “A dislocation equals a multi-ligament injury. Miller has torn at least two ligaments, likely three. As predicted, he went to the hospital to be checked for artery damage.” Also Read: Houston Texans Kneel En Masse After Owner's 'Inmate' Comments Judging.

Mitt Romney may have edged Rick Santorum to take Tuesday's Iowa caucus, but Ron Paul's third-place finish gives his campaign plenty of momentum heading into next week's New Hampshire primary ... and new data indicates he owes much of that showing to the support of young voters in the state.
According to the Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement, four percent of all eligible Iowa voters under the age of 30 took part in Tuesday's presidential caucuses, and Paul was the clear-cut favorite among them, drawing the support of 48 percent of the under-30s, compared to 23 percent for Santorum and 14 percent for Romney.

Although the nominees for the Academy Awards won't be announced until sometime next year, a few of the other award ceremonies are already in full swing including the Independent Spirit Awards, which recognize the best films shot for $20 million or less. This year's Spirit Award nominees were announced earlier today, and I think there are definitely some interesting choices. First off, the big one that everyone is picking up on is the fact that Paranormal Activity was nominated for Best First Feature. And why shouldn't it be? The Blair Witch Project won the exact same award back in 2000. Anvil! The Story of Anvil has been redeemed somewhat for the Oscar snub by getting a nod here for Best Documentary, and surprisingly, Jemaine Clement picked up a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in Gentlemen Broncos. Other than that, some of the movies that scored multiple nominations include Precious, (500) Days of Summer,...

There aren’t many good movies involving the Iraq war. Though most are well-intentioned, The Messenger is only the second well-made one. Having death messengers as its characters, it powerfully deals with loss, grief and the disillusionment of patriotism.
Ben Foster and Woody Harrelson are perfect in their roles. Presenting scene after scene of wailing parents, the film helps us understand how one eventually get used to war casualty, and how maddening that is.
This is a capsule review from the film festival. We will have a full review when the film opens on November 13.

Adam Yauch's upstart label has picked up North American rights to Oren Moverman's directorial debut "The Messenger," which premiered this year at the Sundance Film Festival.
The company will release the movie theatrically in November; it also plans an awards push for cast and filmmakers, reps said.
"Messenger" stars Ben Foster as a young soldier recently back from Iraq who is assigned to the Army's Casualty Notification Service, which travels the country informing families that a loved one has been killed overseas.
Woody Harrelson co-stars as Foster's gruff, more experienced partner, and Samantha Morton plays a woman whose husband recently was killed in combat and to whom Foster is attracted.
Moverman wrote the script with Alessandro Camon; Lawrence Inglee, Mark Gordon and Zach Miller produced.
The movie has received a number of good notices on the festival circuit, picking up two prizes in February in Berlin.

Good Worldwide has acquired the rights to adapt into a film "The Outsider," Richard Wright's novel looking at racism in America.
Previously operating under the Reason Pictures banner, Good's Zach Miller and Ben Goldhirsh will produce the project.
Published at the height of McCarthyism and the dawn of the Cold War, Wright tells the story of Cross Damon and his quest to escape his past, exploring themes of prejudice and alienation through modern philosophies.
Apa negotiated the deal for the estate of Wright, who died in 1960.
Previous Good projects include the 2007 Sundance top-seller "Son of Rambow" and Michael Apted's soccer documentary "The Power of the Game."

- In a marketplace full of unwanted war-themed films, there can't be a bigger risk than going into such a hostile territory, and yet producers Mark Gordon and Lawrence Inglee (of Mark Gordon Co.) and Zach Miller and Ben Goldhirsh of Reason Pictures are backing Oren Moverman's directorial debut. Truth is Moverman is a fine screenwriter with I'm Not There, Married Life and dating back all the way to Jesus's Son, but the good news is his The Messenger happens to be a damn fine script. Playing one of the lead two significant roles, is Ben Foster who was insanely great in Alpha Dog, with this homeland set picture, he will play a young Army officer who is forced to work with a partner he can't stand in the least desirable job in the military. His life becomes even more complicated when he falls in love with a soldier's widow.
