Gabriela Barraza is a Mexican producer, who served as the head of IMCINE's production department from 1985 to 1987. In this role, she supervised several films, including Arturo Ripstein's "El Imperio de la Fortuna." Barraza later worked freelance as a location manager and UPM, line producer, and associate producer on films, documentaries & TV series. Her credits from this freelance period include Alfonso Arau's acclaimed 1992 film "Like Water for Chocolate" and the 1995 documentary "The Mystery of the Maya," which was the first IMAX film shot at iconic Mayan archaeological sites. In 1995, Barraza established the production company TPO, which facilitates foreign film crews shooting commercials throughout Mexico and Latin America while also collaborating with filmmakers to complete unique projects.
