The truth is that, no mater how great a concept is for a story, no matter how well the film is marketed, the ultimate proof is in the production pudding. How excellent is your execution? Not the capitol punishment type — even if some films make you wish for that instead — but, execution of idea from concept to completion. Unfortunately, despite all the best intentions, many films fail to find the appropriate approach.
Ghoul (2015) is one of these films. It should be quite apparent already that I am not overwhelmingly impressed with this one, but in an effort to change things up a bit and better explain my thoughts on this film, I’ll begin with the end.
[No worries, I never spoil films, even the ones I dislike.]
The final 15-20 minutes of Ghoul are, by far, the most engaging, most intense and most successful minutes of this entire film. With that said, it’s not enough to save it entirely,...

Watch the new trailer for Ghoul, directed by Petr Jakl. The horror film stars Jennifer Armour, Jeremy Isabella, Paul S. Tracey, and Debra Garza.
Ghoul follows three Americans who travel to the Ukraine to investigate how cannibalism swept through the country during the notorious famine of 1932. After being lead deep into the vast Ukrainian forest for an interview with the last known survivor of the cannibalism epidemic, they are plagued with a series of unexplainable supernatural encounters and come face to face with the evil spirit of Andrei Chikatilo, who was born in the Soviet Union and was the most violent serial killer and cannibal of all time.
Beware – this one is pretty scary!
Ghoul recently opened in the Czech Republic and set box office records by having the highest opening weekend for horror films in the past 10 years.
Rob Cohen and Joe Lynch (Everly) are executive producers on the film.

We're back with another round of videos, this time focusing our attention on two new teasers for The CW's iZombie, a faux commercial for the zombie preventative drug, Zombrex, a sought-after item in Dead Rising: Watchtower, as well as a look at Ghoul, a found footage horror film featuring a cannibalistic spirit.
iZombie: "Co-created and executive produced by Rob Thomas & Diane Ruggiero-Wright (Veronica Mars), along with executive producers Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge (also of Veronica Mars), Rose McIver (Masters of Sex, Once Upon a Time) stars as Olivia “Liv” Moore, a 25-year-old medical resident on the fast track to a perfect life … until she’s turned into a zombie. Liv transfers her residency to the coroner’s office for access to the brains she must reluctantly eat, but with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories. With her medical examiner boss and a police detective,...

Petr Jákl's Ghoul has completed shooting in the Czech Republic. This title is being developed by Traction Media. And, the film has been shot found footage style, by a group of American documentarians. In the story, the filmmakers are researching a group of cannibals from the 20th Century, who were forced to eat human flesh. Now, a still has been released for the film, along with casting details. The first still for the film shows a pentagram. An occultist stands by, ready to perform a Satanic ritual. Perhaps, the documentarians, from the story, are waylaid by a group of cultists, or by the remnants of the cannibals' family. Ghoul will release in 2015. Vega, Baby! Releasing will handle the release. As well, a trailer is expected to release soon as the film is now complete. The film stars Jeremy Isabella, Jennifer Armour and Paul S. Tracey. All of the available details on Ghoul are below.

A woman accusing Beyonce Knowles of stealing the lyrics for her hit "Baby Boy" has taken her case to a U.S. appeals court. Jennifer Armour's claim, that Knowles took the words from her song "Got a Little Bit of Love for You," was dismissed by a Houston judge last year. But her lawyer has told a three-judge panel in Lubbock, Texas that the case should be heard by a jury. Dana Kirk, representing Armour, told the judges that an expert analyzed the songs and ruled that they are substantially similar. Knowles' lawyer Cynthia Arato argued that the standard for copyright cases is what an ordinary person can hear, not an expert.
