After the explosive Season 11 premiere of When Calls The Heart (Wcth) on the Hallmark Channel this week, it’s hard for fans not to speculate on what will unfold during the rest of the season, and what’s on tap for the next show, episode 2.
It’s clear that producers a romance is emerging between Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry) and Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow); it’s also clear that Wcth producers will take their time when it comes to this pairing.
Still, one thing is for certain, the two will be in each other’s orbits throughout Season 11, and she’ll likely have a need to plan a birthday party for him. Still, it’s also very probable that there will be some bumps in the road when it comes to the preparations, and even the bash itself.

Another player is interested in returning to Weeds. The possibility of a revival was first reported in May. Showtime is developing a revival of the popular comedy-drama series that aired on the cable network for eight seasons between 2005-12. Christian Torpe would write and executive produce the series.
Mary-Louise Parker, Elizabeth Perkins, Hunter Parrish, Kevin Nealon, Alexander Gould, Justin Kirk, Andy Milder, Allie Grant, and Romany Malco starred in the original series. Parker is set to return for the new incarnation. The original comedy follows housewife and mom Nancy Botwin (Parker) as she finds creative ways to support her family after the death of her husband. The revival would reportedly take Nancy to Copenhagen.

If the long-gestating Weeds Revival gets the green light, another original star is interested in stepping back into the world of Nancy Botwin.
Elizabeth Perkins appeared in five of eight seasons during the show's initial run on Showtime.
In an interview with Variety, Perkins stressed that the new project was very much "talk" at this early stage in development.
The Afterparty Season 2 star admitted she would be ecstatic to get the opportunity to work with her former co-stars.
"I loved working with Mary-Louise Parker," she added.
"I love those two characters together, Nancy and Celia!"
Indeed, fans would be interested in checking back in with Celia, who was missing from the show's final three seasons.
By the end of Weeds' eight-season run, the series had changed so much that many of the original elements of the show were missing.

Elizabeth Perkins is high on reprising her role as Celia in Showtime’s possible Weeds revival.
In May, it was reported that the premium cabler — on which all eight seasons of the Og series aired from 2005 to 2012 — is developing a sequel series that would feature the return of Mary-Louise Parker’s Nancy Botwin. (The project had previously been in the works at Starz.)

As has been teased for several years, a return to the world of Weeds is in the works.
Initially, a sequel series was in the works at Starz, and now, the revival is set to sprout at Showtime.
Deadline says the series is in early development but that Mary Louise Parker is set to return to headline and executive produce.
Additionally, Showtime is also working on an update of Nurse Jackie, with Edie Falco in line to return.
The Weeds sequel will be written and executive produced by Christian Torpe, creator of the popular Danish series Rita, and would feature Nancy (Parker) in Copenhagen, the outlet reports.
Both series are said to be on the fast-track, with an eye of getting them on the air as early as quarter one of 2024.
However, the deals are still being ironed out, and a potential pickup could be contingent on what happens with the Writers Strike.

Exclusive Updated: Showtime is looking to bring back two of its signature comedy series, Nurse Jackie and Weeds. Both hail from Lionsgate Television and former Showtime chief Robert Greenblatt who has a deal at the indie studio.
Reps for Showtime and Lionsgate would not comment but I hear the followups, now in early stages of development, have the original leads, Edie Falco and Mary-Louise Parker, attached to star and executive produce. Sources stress that the projects are still coming together and deals are being negotiated.

It’s been nearly four years since we learned that a “Weeds” sequel series was in the works. When Variety exclusively broke the news of the revival in 2019, which was then at Starz, Mary-Louise Parker was set to executive produce and reprise her role as Nancy Botwin in the potential new series. But Justin Kirk, who played her charming and unfiltered brother-in-law Andy Botwin, isn’t so sure about it.
“Even as a fan, do you really want to see us all old and coming back? By the time of Season 8, I don’t think the general idea was, ‘We should keep doing this!'” he told Variety. “Look, I love those people, I love that character. I probably know as much as you do about any future reboots.”
In Variety‘s original report, the logline for the new “Weeds” was: “The new show picks up with the Botwin family...

It may seem mainstream these days, but a sequel to the subversive, Emmy Award winning episodic comedy series "Weeds" continues in development at Starz with Lionsgate Television producing, starring Mary-Louise Parker, 10 years after Season Eight, as the 'Botwin' family adjusts to making a living in a new era of cannabis legalization:
"Weeds" was created by Jenji Kohan, airing on Showtime 2005 to 2012, following central character 'Nancy Botwin' (Parker), a widowed mother with two boys 'Silas' (Hunter Parrish) and 'Shane' (Alexander Gould), who begins selling marijuana to support her family.
Other main characters include Nancy's lax brother-in-law 'Andy Botwin' (Justin Kirk), who moves in to help raise her children, foolish acquaintance 'Doug Wilson' (Kevin Nealon), narcissistic neighbor 'Celia Hodes' (Elizabeth Perkins), Celia's husband 'Dean' (Andy Milder) and their daughter 'Isabelle' (Allie Grant), as well as Nancy's dealers 'Heylia James' (Tonye Patano) and 'Conrad Shepard' (Romany Malco).

Starz is working on a sequel series to Weeds, the Showtime series starring Mary Louise-Parker that ran for eight seasons from 2005-12. The news was revealed on Starz owner Lionsgate’s second-quarter earnings call Thursday.

A few thoughts on last night's momentous "Grey's Anatomy" coming up just as soon as the second chair cello boy doesn't count... Whenever I write or tweet about "Grey's Anatomy" — as I did last night, upon seeing the news about the show killing off Derek — inevitably some clever person feels the need to ask, "Is that still on?" Yes, "Grey's" is an old show — it debuted in the same TV season as "Lost," "Veronica Mars," "House," "Desperate Housewives" and a whole lot of others that didn't last nearly as long as this series' 11 seasons and counting — but it still remains one of ABC's most successful dramas, and one of the higher-rated dramas on TV, period. It's going to be around as long as Shonda Rhimes wants it to be. And though I stopped watching a couple of years ago more due to time constraints than anything the "Grey's" itself did,...

After three seasons, ABC is moving on. The network has cancelled Suburagatory.
Suburgatory continues the story of single dad George Altman (Jeremy Sisto) and his teenage daughter (Jane Levy) after they move from the city an overly wholesome community in the suburbs. This season, the rest of the cast includes Cheryl Hines, Allie Grant, Ana Gasteyer, Chris Parnell, and Carly Chaikin.
The show premiered in September 2011 to a very strong 3.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.8 million viewers. The numbers dwindled downward over the course of the season but the network renewed it for season two anyway.
Season two started off well but once again, the ratings dwindled downward. This time, ABC gave Suburgatory a limited 13 episode renewal.

After spreading plenty of good news on Thursday night and Friday morning, ABC is also distributing sad news to some of its bubble shows. Farewell to "Super Fun Night" and "Suburgatory." Nobody expected the Rebel Wilson comedy "Super Fun Night" to earn a second season and... It hasn't. The series, which was originally rejected by CBS two years ago, at least made it onto air for ABC, but 17 episodes will be its lifespan, despite nesting behind "Modern Family" on Wednesdays for most of the fall. Fortunately, Rebel Wilson has "Pitch Perfect 2" and a rumored remake of "Private Benjamin" coming up, so she's probably going to find a way to still make Friday at least a *reasonably* fun night. While 17 episodes probably wasn't enough time for anybody to build attachments to "Super Fun Night," there's likely to be some sadness about the demise of the often-terrific "Suburgatory," which will now...

The ratings for Suburgatory came down quite a bit last season but ABC still renewed it. If the numbers continue to fall, will it be cancelled or will be saved so it will have enough episodes for syndication? Stay tuned to find out.

Things are not looking good for Suburgatory which, despite a last minute renewal for a third season, has been forced to cut out two of the eight regulars in its cast, with the possibility of more to come. Alan Tudyk and Rex Lee have been with the series since the very beginning, which makes it even more painful to see them let go. In particular, I’ve always enjoyed Tudyk in whatever role he is in. His presence will most certainly be missed, as will Lee’s. But this is just the way the cookie crumbles in today’s entertainment climate. No series is safe, even when it gets renewed.
Tudyk and Lee’s options were not picked up for one simple reason: budget cuts. Deadline reported Suburgatory’s third season renewal came after a reduction in the licensing fee, which means that money needed to be made up elsewhere.

After "Suburgatory" barely avoided the cancellation axe from ABC this season, the comedy will lose two series regulars -- Alan Tudyk and Rex Lee -- in Season 3.
Deadline reports that due to budget cuts that came with the renewal, the contracts for both actors were not extended. Tudyk played narcissistic dentist Noah Werner, who was best friends with George Altman (Jeremy Sisto), while Lee played Mr. Wolfe, the guidance counselor at the high school attended by Tessa Altman (Jane Levy).
"Suburgatory" has an unusually large ensemble cast for a comedy series, and Deadline hints more actors could be let go or reduced to recurring. Besides Sisto and Levy, remaining cast members include Cheryl Hines, Ana Gasteyer, Chris Parnell, Carly Chaikin and Allie Grant.
While Tudyk has played a significant role in several of the show's storylines, Lee's character was more a minor figure whose presence isn't likely to be missed by fans.

"Suburgatory" will look very different when it returns for Season 3, with Deadline reporting that regulars Alan Tudyk and Rex Lee have not had their contracts renewed for next season. We hear that there is a possibility that the two could return as guest stars.
The comedy's renewal was reportedly a last-minute decision for ABC and came with a reduction in the license fee, which means the producers have to find ways to cut costs -- which, for an ensemble comedy, sadly means trimming the cast.
According to Deadline, there may be further cuts or demotions from regular to recurring status ahead; stars Jane Levy, Jeremy Sisto, Cheryl Hines, Carly Chaikin, Ana Gasteyer and Allie Grant are the show's remaining regulars.
Both actors have been with the comedy since the pilot, with Tudyk playing Noah Werner, the extravagant best friend of Sisto's character George, while Lee portrayed high school guidance counsellor Mr.

Exclusive Updated: I hear ABC‘s last-minute third-season renewal of Suburgatory as midseason replacement came with a reduction in the license fee, which is leading to budget cuts and some tough choices. I’ve learned that two of the series’ eight regulars, Alan Tudyk and Rex Lee, have not been picked up for next season. They may potentially appear as guest stars. I hear there may be further trims, with other regulars potentially being cut or reduced to recurring. Suburgatory‘s remaining regular cast includes stars Jane Levy and Jeremy Sisto as well as Cheryl Hines, Carly Chaikin, Ana Gasteyer and Allie Grant. Both Tudyk and Lee have been on the show since the beginning. Lee, who plays the high school’s guidance counselor, was a guest star in the pilot but was promoted to regular right after. Tudyk played Sisto’s trusted, country club-loving friend. Suburgatory was a breakout...

A review of the two-part "Suburgatory" season finale coming up just as soon as my troubles melt away like so much provolone... Much as I keep wishing for "Suburgatory" to find a new level — or, at least, to hit its current best level more consistently — I think the design of the show means it's always going to be uneven. The mix of the utterly sincere and the absolutely cartoonish is just very volatile, even with actors like Jane Levy and Allie Grant who can go easily to both places. Some weeks, all the elements are going to come together...

If you're a regular viewer of ABC's hit sitcom Suburgatory, you know that spoiled rich girl Dalia Royce (played by Carly Chaikin) often targets neighbor/classmate Tessa Altman (Jane Levy) and her friends and calling them lesbians in her flat, monotoned voice is a regular thing.
In tonight's episode, however, there's something different happening with Dalia when she finds Tessa (and fellow neighbor Lisa Shay, played by Allie Grant) with Jenna (guest star Courtney Merritt), a girl that may have a past of sorts with Dalia. Tessa definitely notices something is going on — and it's not long before we find out what that something is.
Here is an Exclusive Clip courtesy of ABC for tonight's "Decemberfold" episode. Coming tomorrow we'll have an exclusive chat with Chakin and the episode writer, Andrew Guest, to break down the happenings in tonight's hilarious episode.

The Valentine’s Day episode of ABC’s Suburgatory (airing Wednesday at 9:30/8:30c) will prove to be more frightening than romantic for some of Chatswin’s lovers.
On top of a horrofic Blowtox (yes, that’s Botox plus Blowfish) procedure-gone-wrong for one character, “Valentine’s Day becomes a test,” previews Annie Weisman, who penned the half-hour. “Is George going to do the extravagant Valentine’s that Dallas expects? And then for Tessa [and Ryan], it becomes this unexpected test of which one of them is deeper and more soulful.”
Below, the cast kisses and tells about how the denizens of Suburgatory are celebrating the holiday.

Tessa (Jane Levy) gets her wisdom teeth taken out in Wednesday's (Jan. 16) episode of "Suburgatory." That may not sound like much of a premise for a comedy episode, granted, but you're forgetting the painkillers.
Tessa loopy on pills, plus Levy's ability to make Tessa funny when she's strident or angry, combine for a very amusing episode called "Junior Secretary's Day." Here are three things to watch for in the episode.
Tessa Altman, meet Carrie Mathison. Tessa is skeptical about having her wisdom teeth pulled. But afterward, and under the influence of her pain meds, she goes full "Homeland," making all sorts of connections that, in her addled brain, prove aliens are coming for her teeth. Levy nails Tessa's wild-eyed ravings.

Ryan’s life will never be the same. He had been living comfortably content as a Shay, knowing who his parents were and that he was related to his sister Lisa (Allie Grant). But once one finds out that the family they thought was theirs is actually not, reality seems to shift. Ryan began to doubt his own reality and realness. It made perfect sense. But life should not...

Chris Colfer stars as high schooler Carson Phillips in Struck By Lightning
Ambition is not something that comes after success strikes but, rather, is what helps a performer get there in the first place. Case in point, Chris Colfer, who became a household name when Fox’s Glee first premiered in 2009, had already been busy working on writing Struck By Lightning way before Kurt Hummel came into his life. It’s a case of full circle that the story he worked on years ago is finally coming to theaters with Colfer not only the screenwriter but also in the lead role.
In the coming of age film directed by Brian Donnelly (Saved!), Colfer plays teenaged Carson Phillips, who has a less than idyllic life with an absent father (Dermot Mulroney), a mother (Allison Janney) who likes to spend her days drinking and popping pills, and a thankless job running the...

It appears that Sheila and Lisa Shay don't have a monopoly on mother-daughter conflict on "Suburgatory."
The ABC comedy will introduce Sheila's (Ana Gasteyer) mother later this season, and you'll see that Sheila has just as many issues with her as Lisa (Allie Grant) does with Sheila.
The source of Sheila's anguish is Emmy winner Mary Kay Place (late of "Big Love"), Zap2it can exclusively reveal. Place will appear in an episode set for February, when Lisa's "Gam Gam" arrives in Chatswin and throws a wrench into Sheila's Valentine's Day plans.
Related: Jane Levy on 'Suburgatory' Season 2
Gam Gam is described as a "brash bon vivant" -- i.e., the opposite of the uptight, appearance-obsessed Sheila. She disapproves of most of the decisions Sheila has made in her life, with one big exception: She's a big fan of Fred's (Chris Parnell). Maybe a little too big.

Wednesday's (Nov. 7) episode of "Suburgatory" finds Tessa in the unusual position of being looked up to by Dalia's minions. But that can happen when you take in three stray girls.
In the episode, called "Foam Finger," Dalia (Carly Chaikin) decides to become BFFs with her dad's new fiancee, leaving Kimantha (Abbie Cobb), Kenzie (Kara Pacitto) and Kaitlyn (Katelyn Pacitto) at a loss for whom to follow. After Tessa (Jane Levy) discovers them wandering the streets of Chatswin, she turns them over to Lisa (Allie Grant) for safe keeping.

"But also she can tell something's going on with Dalia -- why has she left her old friends? Most of the episode is Tessa trying to find out what's going with Dalia and trying to help her out."

Chatswin gets deep into the Halloween spirit in a big way on "Suburgatory" Wednesday night (Oct. 24) -- even going so far as to assemble an angry mob to chase down a "witch."
Zap2it visited the show's set as the episode was in production -- and carved a few pumpkins with cast members Ana Gasteyer, Chris Parnell, Allie Grant and Parker Young. As best we can tell, our jack-o-lanterns didn't end up as set dressing for the episode -- but we did get some scoop on what you'll see in "The Witch of East Chatswin."
The "witch" in question is played by Gasteyer and Parnell's former "Saturday Night Live" cohort Rachel Dratch. "We have this history going all the way back to [middle] school in Chatswin," Gasteyer says, and it's not a good one.

Hooray, it's the start of the television season.
I can guess your reaction: "Wait, what? The fall TV season started weeks ago!" Sure, it did, but what got the most attention in September were the debuts of new programs. For TV critics and viewers alike, it's a month spent speed-dating: You spend a lot of time on entities you don't know very well and hope for the best, knowing that the chances of a long-term connection arising from this period of insanity are slim indeed.
