- Art Department
Cheryl Rounsefell is known as 'the doctor' because she is able to do
'the impossible' in costume manufacture. In particular, she is renowned
for her leatherwork and millinery, which have been featured in many
multi-million dollar blockbuster movies, including
Moulin Rouge! (2001),
Australia (2008),
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010)
and The Great Gatsby (2013).
Cheryl has worked closely with
Catherine Martin, multiple
academy award winner for costume and art production, on many of
Baz Luhrmann's films. Cheryl's leatherwork
manufacture was highlighted on the cover of American Vogue, featuring
Nicole Kidman wearing a
Catherine Martin designed green
snakeskin corset style belt. She has also assisted the well-respected
milliner, Rosie Boylan on major films and
theatre/musical productions. Cheryl lives in the artistic community of
the Blue Mountains, just west of Sydney, Australia.
