- Was the MVP of his soccer team in high school and remains a soccer fan.
- He was the NFL's leading receiver in the 2004 playoffs, pacing the league in receptions (16) and receiving yards (264). In addition to being named Super Bowl XXXIX MVP, he was selected as the NFL's Offensive Player of the Week following the AFC Championship Game (1/23/05), when he led all receivers with 116 yards, including a game-breaking 60-yard touchdown grab.
- Following a tumultuous contract dispute in which he held out of training camp and the entirety of the exhibition season, Branch was traded from the Patriots to the Seattle Seahawks for an undisclosed draft pick, believed to be a first-round pick, for 2007. (September 2006)
- Traded to the New England Patriots for a 4th round pick in the 2011 NFL draft. (October 2010)
- Inducted into the Jones County [Mississippi] Junior College Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014.
