The next series of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? will be Jeremy Clarkson’s last, it has been confirmed, following backlash to the columnist’s words on Meghan Markle.
Last year, Clarkson’s future on the show was called into question after reaction to a column he wrote in The Sun where the former Top Gear host said he hated the Duchess of Sussex on a “cellular level”.
Clarkson apologised and later said that he had reached out to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex over the article. However, Harry and Meghan issued their own statement claiming that Clarkson had only apologised to Harry.
At the time, ITV said that Clarkson would remain as the host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, a role he took on in 2018, “for the moment”.
Production is currently underway on the series, but it has now been announced that the forthcoming series will be his last.

Jeremy Clarkson will remain the host on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? “At the moment”, said ITV boss Kevin Lygo, as he criticised Clarkson’s comments about Meghan Markle as “awful”.
In his op-ed, published on Friday (16 December) the 62-year-old wrote that he dreamt of the day Markle would be made to parade naked through Britain while the crowd chanted “shame” and threw “excrement” at her.
Clarkson claimed that “everyone who’s my age thinks the same way”.
The Sun has now removed Clarkson’s comment piece from its website. “In light of Jeremy Clarkson’s tweet he has asked us to take last week’s column down,” the page now reads.
More than 60 cross-party MPs have written to The Sun’s editor to demand an apology and “action taken” against Clarkson. The Snp’s shadow culture minister also called for Clarkson to be banned from TV altogether.

Drake reportedly lost a 1m bet that he put on the World Cup Final.
The final took place on Sunday (18 December) and saw Argentina beat France on penalties.
However, Drake – who reportedly put his money on Argentina – lost his bet due to a technicality, Vulture reports.
Drake apparently bet that the team would win on a “1x2” market bet, which means that the team needs to win within regulation time.
Regulation time is the normal length of a football game before any extra time is allocated.
But unfortunately for Drake, the game was forced to go to extra time and penalties after France scored last minute.
Meanwhile Drake lose USD1.000.000 bet due to Kylian Mbappé’s last-minute goal before the penalties...

Kate Winslet has said she was body-shamed about one of the most famous, and hotly debated, scenes from James Cameron’s 1997 hit Titanic.
Even as the film approaches its 25th anniversary, people have continued to question why Rose (Winslet) couldn’t make room for Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) on the floating door during the climax scene.
During Friday’s (16 December) episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Mare of Easttown actor said some of the press coverage and comments about that final scene were “so mean”.
“Apparently I was too fat,” she told host Josh Horowitz. “Why were they so mean to me? They were so mean. I wasn’t even f***ing fat.”
With reference to these derogatory comments made about her by the tabloids, Winslet said she would have responded to the coverage differently today “if I could turn back the clock”.

The latest news about the Thirteenth Doctor’s regeneration in the BBC Centenary Doctor Who special has come straight from the Doctor herself. In an interview in Empire magazine this month, Jodie Whittaker spoke about filming her final scenes, and it sounds like fans are in for an emotional farewell.

We now finally know what the title of the upcoming "Doctor Who" centenary special is going to be. This episode, which is set to air in the fall, will serve as a goodbye to Jodie Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor, who made history as the first woman to take on the character in the show's long history. So, her final, feature-length special episode? It will be "The Power of the Doctor."
The news was revealed via the latest issue of "Doctor Who Magazine" (via Cultbox). The outlet also notes that the title brings to mind several previous episodes from the show's history, including "The Power of the Daleks" from 1966, which featured Patrick Troughton's Doctor, and 2012's The Power of Three, during Matt Smith's tenure as the Doctor. A brief synopsis for the episode has also surfaced, which reads as follows:

The outlet also notes that the title brings to mind several previous episodes from the show's history, including "The Power of the Daleks" from 1966, which featured Patrick Troughton's Doctor, and 2012's The Power of Three, during Matt Smith's tenure as the Doctor. A brief synopsis for the episode has also surfaced, which reads as follows:

Sometimes people get away with awful things. While everyone agrees there should be punishment for crimes like rape and murder, people often debate what the appropriate consequences should be for committing these kinds of crimes. After Jeff and Darren Geare’s younger sister was viciously assaulted and raped in 2004, it took 12 years for her rapist to be apprehended. Her attacker was finally found guilty and sentenced to 22 years in prison and the ordeal of the trial inspired the Geare brothers to write a script about a revenge-fantasy scenario for crime victims and their families. This concept combined with the Geare brothers’ love of genre film helped them create The Retaliators, which follows a pastor who experiences a tragedy that leads him to discover a bizarre, criminal underworld.
After sending the script to Michael Lombardi, who is well known for the series Rescue Me, Lombardi was cast as the pastor, John Bishop.

Warning: contains spoilers for Doctor Who: Flux episodes one to four.
When Karvanista told the Doctor in ‘The Halloween Apocalypse’ to stop asking about the Division because it wasn’t a question he could answer, what if he meant that literally? Heard for the first time, it sounded as though the Lupari soldier was citing some kind of intergalactic omertà/non-disclosure agreement about his time with the Division, but what if he really can’t answer the Doctor’s question? What if the Doctor wasn’t the only Division agent whose memories were wiped?
Thanks to ‘Once, Upon Time’, we know that Karvanista was part of the four-operative Division team that captured Swarm and Azure at the first Siege of Atropos.
In the memory, we saw Karvanista call the Fugitive Doctor ‘Boss’ and share a sense of jokey camaraderie with her and the team. But when Thirteen somehow tracked Karvanista...

Russell T Davies revived “Doctor Who” in 2005 and helped make the decades-long sci-fi franchise a phenomenon again. He departed the show in 2010 after four seasons and a few specials spanning the ninth (Christopher Eccleston) and 10th (David Tennant) Doctors’ tenures. But now he’s coming back to the show full-time following Chris Chibnall, who’s stepping down from the show after its upcoming 13th season and three subsequent specials to air in 2022. But what can we expect from Davies’s return to the show? Well, I have a few suggestions.
1. Keep diversity at the forefront
The time-traveling Time Lord at the heart of the show changes form to accommodate new actors, showrunners, and storylines, but it took more than five decades for the Doctor to be anything other than a white man. Jodie Whittaker broke that glass ceiling when she assumed the role in 2018. But Whittaker is leaving the show...

There are so many films out there about men who are transformed by quests for revenge after their female relatives suffer violence that they could practically be a genre in themselves – in one year, Eye For Film found that they made up over 4% of all films which got a major UK cinema release. The Retaliators, however, seems to be conscious that this is a problem. Whilst it might be accused of trying to have its cake and eat it, a more generous view would allow that it is endeavouring to question the format and search for a middle ground which acknowledges the intensity of the emotions involved but acknowledges the problems with treating vigilante violence as a valid solution.

The Doctor is out. Jodie Whittaker and “Doctor Who” showrunner Chris Chibnall will exit the series in the fall of 2022, BBC confirmed on Thursday.
Whittaker and Chibnall’s farewell will come in a trio of specials that will air as part of the BBC’s Centenary celebrations, and on BBC America in the U.S. The BBC had already previously announced a six-part Season 13 coming in the fall and two specials planned for 2022, but BBC One has now ordered an additional third feature-length adventure to conclude Whittaker and Chibnall’s “Doctor Who” run next year.
Whittaker is the Thirteenth Doctor and the first woman to hold the role, having entered “Doctor Who” when Chibnall took over the show in 2017.

At this weekend’s Comic-Con@Home virtual Doctor Who panel, showrunner Chris Chibnall was asked for one word to describe the next series, and he said ‘swarm’.
Chibnall – and there’s a joke here in the comments section if you want it – knows exactly what he’s doing. So, most obvious idea first: is Chris Chibnall, embarking on a series that consists of an eight-episode long story, bringing back the Swarm from ‘The Invisible Enemy’?
This Season 15 story from 1977 featured a parasitic virus taking over victims through their eyes. The Swarm are mostly remembered for the character of the Nucleus of the Swarm, who resembled a hybrid of living prawn and cooked/peeled prawn, and the story is not thought of especially well (though it did introduce K9).
Nucleus of the Swarm, ‘The Invisible Enemy’ BBC.
However, the concept of an intelligent, sentient parasite taking over characters has dramatic potential.

All week long, the official Doctor Who channels have been teasing a surprise guest for this weekend’s Comic-Con@Home panel. While many were expecting to see a returning favourite or revived character from series past, the answer turned out to a brand new addition for series 13: Game of Thrones and Broadchurch actor Jacob Anderson.
Anderson will play new character Vinder in series 13. He’ll be a recurring role, and was described on the panel as a fun, adventurous action hero who’ll have his own spaceship. In a pre-recorded introductory video, Anderson revealed:
“Not only did I get to go on the Tardis and press all the buttons and flip all the levers and the switches but I got my own ship, and my own ship had its own world of buttons and levers and switches that you could actually press and you could actually play with. I was like,...

A teaser at the end of Doctor Who festive special ‘Revolution of the Daleks‘ introduced the audience to John Bishop, freshly cast as new companion Dan and due to appear alongside Mandip Gill and Jodie Whittaker in the show’s upcoming 13th season.
John Bishop is very well known in his native United Kingdom, mostly for his output as an award-winning stand-up comedian, and for being a mainstay of some of the country’s best-loved panel shows. In the US, he’s a less familiar face – a consequence of the US comedy scene being harder to break into than Fort Knox in a time eddy. Even in the UK there may be pockets of Who viewers unfamiliar with Bishop’s work, especially as ever-fewer people aged 16-34 are choosing to watch broadcast TV.

Warning: contains Series 12 and ‘Revolution of the Daleks’ spoilers.
Change has long been a constant of Doctor Who, and series 13 is no different. This time around, the changes have largely been rung in by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The virus has concertinaed the Doctor’s next arc, shrinking the new series down from a planned eleven episodes to eight. It’s also recently infected brand new companion John Bishop, who has been filming on the series since November (best wishes for a speedy recovery).
From companions to rumoured returning monsters, writers, directors and Jodie Whittaker’s possible departure, here’s what we might expect from series 13…

Jodie Whittaker may be leaving Doctor Who behind. Over the weekend, shortly after the premiere of the show’s New Year’s special, The Mirror reported that the actress will be exiting the role of the Time Lord at the end of season 13, which is currently in production. The news isn’t official yet, then, but the outlet has a solid history of Who scoops and the BBC released a pretty suspicious “no comment” response to the report.
Though we might not want her to go just yet, it seems like Whovians will have to get used to the idea of potentially having a new Doctor in the near future, as The Mirror claims that Whittaker will be regenerating in the season 13 finale. But who could the Fourteenth Doctor be? Obviously, every fan has their own choice, with actors and actresses of all kinds of backgrounds, ages and types being put forward.
