Every second counts!
So, let's get into it. Like any upscale restaurant that takes a simple dish and turns it on its head, The Bear is no different.
On paper, it's a pretty standard premise for a show.
In this case, a deceased family member passes the business to Carmen, and the results are life-changing. We couldn't have a show otherwise.
The challenges are self-evident. Busted menu. Even more busted cookware. And a rag-tag team of Og employees who can't be told "nothing 'bout nothing."
What sets The Bear apart from any other show is its uncanny ability to put the viewer right into the characters' shoes.
Each scene in Season 1 is palpable. The stress and anxiety are infused right into its core, giving the audience the sensation of being in the kitchen itself.

Kevin Costner enjoyed John Mulaney’s Field of Dreams bit at the 2024 Oscars.
Costner told People the comedian’s explanation of the movie’s plot was “amazing.”
“I couldn’t believe that guy. Amazing. I watched it a second time,” Costner said.
“What a chance, because there’s always people in the Oscars trying to rush you,” he said. “And he went fast. But what he said, I was very touched by it. I should talk to him, because I was really impressed. He was a genius.”
“I loved what he did.”
Mulaney was presenting the award for Best Sound when he brought up Field of Dreams.
“Or what about that moment in Field of Dreams where we hear ‘If you build it, he will come,’ and then Costner does it, he builds a baseball field,” Mulaney said. “Or I guess he doesn’t build it — he mows down corn,...

It’s season finale time for networks, but Netflix, naturally, still has plenty of brand new TV and shows coming in May.
Jeff Daniels makes his TV return in the David E. Kelley series “A Man in Full.” That six-episode series is based on the bestselling book of the same name by Tom Wolfe. Per a press release: “When Atlanta real estate mogul Charlie Croker faces sudden bankruptcy, political and business interests collide as Charlie defends his empire from those attempting to capitalize on his fall from grace.” The series will also star Tom Pelphrey, Diane Lane, Lucy Liu, William Jackson Harper, Aml Ameen, Sarah Jones, Jon Michael Hill and Chanté Adams.
Additionally, comedy fans can get excited for a new special series from John Mulaney. The comedian is hosting a multi-night event, “John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in LA,” that looks to be part interview show and part man-on-the-street hijinks.

The first episode of The Jinx Part Two is titled “Why Are You Still Here?” Like every installment of the true crime docuseries, it’s a quote from the episode itself; in this case, it’s prosecutor John Lewin asking accused murderer Robert Durst why he hadn’t already fled the country by the time the FBI caught and arrested him for the murder of his friend Susan Berman.
But the line unfortunately applies to The Jinx itself. In 2015, it was an absolute sensation, thanks to an improbable coup: Director...

Olivia Munn is shared the harrowing details of her breast cancer journey, which has led her to have medically induced menopause.
In a People magazine cover story published Wednesday, Munn reflected on her breast cancer diagnosis she revealed publicly last month, which has since led to four surgeries and a double mastectomy. She also shared how partner John Mulaney supported her throughout with their son.
“I was not someone who obsessed over death or was afraid of it in any way,” she said, adding that “having a little baby at home made everything much more terrifying.
“You realize cancer doesn’t care who you are; it doesn’t care if you have a baby or if you don’t have time,” she said. “It comes at you, and you have no choice but to face it head-on.”

Time to put on your spurs and don that 10-gallon hat that's been gathering dust in your closet. With his "Yellowstone" days potentially behind him, Kevin Costner is taking moviegoers back to the Old West with his multi-part directorial effort "Horizon: An American Saga," and he's bringing all his friends with him. That's not even a joke. The "Dances With Wolves" filmmaker appears to be competing with "Barbie" and "Oppenheimer" when it comes to assembling a massive cast filled with big names and respected character actors. Having gone more than 20 years since his last sojourn in the saddle with the 2003 Western "Open Range," Costner is clearly embracing a "go big or go home" philosophy here. Personally, I just hope the Academy allows John Mulaney to summarize the plot for this particular Costner concoction when next year's Oscars ceremony rolls around.

The “SNL” 5-Timers Club has been around since December 1990, when Tom Hanks joked in his monologue that a person’s fifth time hosting is when they receive a membership card into the club. Hanks then left the stage and joined Steve Martin, Elliott Gould and Paul Simon in an expensive-looking set with hors d’oeuvres, waiters and a doorman. The iconic club set would be seen multiple times on NBC’s late sketch comedy throughout the decades, often (but not always) when a new host is anointed as a five-timer. Members of the club are always seen wearing exclusive jackets embroidered with a “5” badge.

Tanya Lapointe was on set every day, and her accounts of the pre-production, production, and post-production processes are captivating. The designs of Geidi Prime are standouts and supplemented with quotes like the following, from production designer Patrice Vermette...

While Dakota Johnson’s Madame Web brought a new low to the Sony Spider-Man Universe, fans still have the Aaron Taylor-Johnson starrer Kraven The Hunter as well as Tom Hardy’s Venom: The Last Dance to see if the Ssu is worth anything. Fans were not ready for a film to be worse than the meme-worthy Morbius, but Madame Web played to win in that competition.
However, Taylor-Johnson has assured fans that Kraven The Hunter is good and worth exploring in the cinemas. The Bullet Train star mentioned how the film was different from the usual franchise fare that audiences were used to and that he would not have chosen to work on it if the film did not have any potential.

John Mulaney‘s ex wife Anna Marie Tendler revealed she wrote a memoir, titled, “Men Have Called Her Crazy,” being released in August.
When she announced the book, many believed John would be a central topic. She herself said the book is about an “endless source of my heartbreak and rage.”
If you don’t know, John and Anna Marie first started dating in 2010 before getting married in the Catskill Mountains in upstate New York in 2014.
In May 2021, after six years of marriage, John and Anna Marie both announced in separate statements that they had split up a few months before.
At the time, it was also revealed that John completed a 60-day stint in rehab earlier that year for cocaine and alcohol addiction.
A few months after that, it was revealed that John was expecting a child with Olivia Munn. John and Olivia welcomed their son Malcolm in November 2021.

If you build it, he will come. And if you joke about it, he will tweet. Kevin Costner has responded to John Mulaney’s breakdown of Field of Dreams – delivered when presenting Best Sound (a surprise win for The Zone of Interest) at Sunday’s Oscars – in good-hearted fashion, saying it wasn’t a bad summary at all.
In one of the night’s funniest moments, Mulaney took a tangent after delivering some of the most iconic lines in modern movies. One was, “If you build it, he will come” from 1989’s Field of Dreams. From there, he gave a far better plot summary of Phil Alden Robinson’s movie than any VHS box could. “I guess he doesn’t build it, he mows down corn, and then there is a field and he’s like, ‘I’m going to watch ghosts play baseball, and the bank is like, ‘You wanna pay your mortgage?...

While “The Bear” is currently in production on Season 3, sources confirm to Variety that FX is already cooking up Season 4, which will film back to back with the third season.
FX renewed the Chicago-set restaurant dramedy for Season 3 in November and has not announced a Season 4 renewal. A spokesperson for the network declined to comment.
“The Bear” Season 3 is gearing up for a June premiere on Hulu, as various paparazzi shots of the ensemble filming in Chicago have leaked over the last couple of weeks. It’s unclear whether the fourth season of “The Bear” will be its last.

I hope you haven’t gotten sick of hearing “Yes, chef” yet because there’s another season of The Bear on the way. The third season of the award-winning series is currently shooting in Chicago, but Deadline reports that The Bear has also been renewed for season 4, which will be shot back-to-back with season 3.
Although the renewal isn’t official, it would make sense for FX to want to get another season in the can. The Bears stars Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri are in high demand, with plenty of other projects on their slate. Ebon Moss-Bachrach is also on the rise, especially after it was confirmed that he would be playing Ben Grimm/The Thing in Marvel’s Fantastic Four movie.

Reactions vary among Oscar watchers, but I'm tired of Jimmy Kimmel. Comedy is subjective, but I've never warmed up to the late night host as an Academy Awards fixture. His humor comes with a taste of perceived superiority as if he's above the movies honored at the ceremony. To be fair, that's common across award shows everywhere, but we caught a glimpse of something better earlier this season. On January 9th, John Mulaney hosted the Governors Awards, killing it like nobody's business while exuding a sincere love for the medium. He even showed up at the Oscars to ramble about Field of Dreams in the night's best bit. Hopefully, AMPAS saw those appearances as auditions because the Oscars sorely need someone like John Mulaney to take on hosting duties…...

First Dakota Johnson and now Sydney Sweeney, it turns out no star from Madame Web is afraid to sling some sass its way. The real difference in the approaches is that while Johnson has been openly outspoken with her words about the Marvel flop, Sweeney would much rather distance her role in it.
Speaking with the Los Angeles Times, Sweeney said of Madame Web, “I was just hired as an actress in it, so I was just along for the ride for whatever was going to happen.” And what was going to happen was a complete whooping by critics and at the box office, taking in barely half of its reported $80 million budget domestically. But that’s a definite brushing off of the project, as “just” having one of the lead roles in a Marvel movie, no matter the expected scope, is still a huge deal. Indeed, that is the...

Olivia Munn has revealed she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
The actress shared in an Instagram post that she hoped that sharing her diagnosis would help others find comfort, inspiration and support on their journey.
She explained that in February 2023, she took a genetic test that checked her for 90 different cancer genes, and she tested negative for all of them, including Brca, which is the most well-known breast cancer gene.
This past winter, she had a normal mammogram, and two months later, she found out she had breast cancer.
“In the past ten months I have had four surgeries, so many days spent in bed I can’t even count and have learned more about cancer, cancer treatment and hormones than I ever could have imagined,” she wrote. “Surprisingly, I’ve only cried twice. I guess I haven’t felt like there was time to cry. My focus narrowed and...

Olivia Munn has revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2023 and underwent a double mastectomy.
In a post to Instagram on Wednesday, Munn shared that, “In the past ten months I have had four surgeries, so many days spent in bed I can’t even count and have learned more about cancer, cancer treatment and hormones than I ever could have imagined.”
“Surprisingly, I’ve only cried twice,” Munn added. “I guess I haven’t felt like there was time to cry. My focus narrowed and I tabled any emotions that I would interfere with my ability to stay clearheaded.”
Munn said, until now, she intentionally kept her diagnosis private because, “I needed to catch my breath and get through some of the hardest parts before sharing.”
The 43-year-old actress credited her Obgyn for saving her life by deciding to calculate her Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Score.

Kevin Costner has a strong emotional connection to his classic 1989 sports fantasy drama Field of Dreams, but he isn’t above laughing at the ridiculousness of the plot. The Yellowstone star took to social media on Tuesday, March 12, to respond to a moment from Sunday’s (March 10) Oscars where comedian John Mulaney hilariously summarized the film’s storyline. Mulaney, who was introducing the award for Best Sound, brought up the Oscar-nominated film and proceeded to talk through the plot (watch his full summary below), including the scene where Ray’s (Costner) daughter, Karin, falls off the bleachers and starts choking to death on a hot dog. Opening his speech by naming famous movie lines, Mulaney said, “What about that moment in Field of Dreams where we hear, ‘If you build it, he will come,’ and then Costner does it, he builds a baseball field.” He continued, “Or I guess he...

Jimmy Kimmel hosted the 96th Academy Awards (Oscars), where some of the most successful films of the previous year were honored. He was quick to break into his bag of prepared one-liners, even though he acknowledged the show was running five minutes behind schedule. He proceeded to roast several of the night’s most prominent guests, such as Christopher Nolan, Bradley Cooper, and Robert Downey Jr.
After the drama and controversy of Kimmel’s time hosting this year’s Oscars, fans are seeking a new face to take on the prestigious role next year. And it appears that the ideal candidate is none other than the hilarious and beloved John Mulaney. Why? His Oscar presentation for Best Sound was arguably the most unexpected moment; his performance was well-received by fans.

Sunday’s Oscars drew an average of 19.5 million total viewers, according to Nielsen numbers, the most since Covid. The February 9, 2020 Academy Awards averaged 23.6 million viewers, which at the time was an all-time low.

Al Pacino, known for his absolutely seismic performances, turned in one at the Oscars so brilliant it seems unfair to call it understated instead of barely interested. The 96th Academy Awards saw Oppenheimer taking home the most awards of the night, a fine selection of memorable speeches and even a dog in the audience. But some of the funniest moments of the Oscars came in between all of these. For us, the highlight was undoubtedly a showdown for the ages between Michael Keaton and two foes of Batman: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito.

For one full minute during the 96th annual Academy Awards, John Mulaney recapped the 1989 Kevin Costner baseball movie, “Field of Dreams.” Standing alone onstage, preparing to present the Oscar for Best Sound, the stand-up comic pivoted from a broad set-up about how some people still think movies were better before the talkies took over — “These people are difficult and insane” (a good line which got his first laugh) — to listing films that were clearly better because of their audio — films like “Jaws,” “When Harry Met Sally,” and “Madame Web” (laugh No. 2). Then Mulaney said, “Or what about that moment in ‘Field of Dreams’ when you hear, ‘If you build it, he will come?’”

Now that’s how you do an Oscar Night right.
The 96th Academy Awards show felt like a real celebration, in a great year for movies — nearly all 10 of the Best Picture nominees were keepers. This was an Oscars bash full of classic moments: Da’Vine Joy Randolph bringing everyone to tears. Ryan Gosling rocking “I’m Just Ken” with Slash on guitar. Rita Moreno singing “America” to America Ferrera. The orchestra trying to play off Sean Ono Lennon as he had the crowd say, “Happy Mother’s Day, Yoko!

The Academy Awards unfolded pretty much as expected, with “Oppenheimer” dominating, and the only real shocks coming in the — wait, there weren’t any huge ones, actually. As predicted, “Oppenheimer” steamrolled, getting seven Oscars in total. It won the top prize for picture, as well as Christopher Nolan winning for director, Cillian Murphy for actor and Robert Downey Jr. for supporting actor — along with Hoyte van Hoytema winning for cinematography, Jennifer Lame for editing and Ludwig Göransson for score.

Leaving the “Oppenheimer” juggernaut aside, the across-the-board excellence of this year’s nominees made for a good Oscars! Jimmy Kimmel — hosting the proceedings on ABC for the fourth time — mostly focused his opening monologue’s jokes on A-list talent close to the stage, especially roasting supporting actor winner Downey Jr. He also addressed the writers and actors strikes of last year, and acknowledged...
