We recently had the opportunity of snagging a few minutes with Kyle Gass, actor, comedian, and most notably the guitarist and vocalist with the band Tenacious D (alongside Jack Black). His most recent role led him into the infested confines of Haylar Garcia’s Apartment 212, and he was more than generous enough to give us […]

When you move into a new apartment, it takes a while to figure out what's going bump in the night in your new home, and while sometimes those "bumps" can be the frightful figment of your own imagination, a young woman discovers her nighttime fears to be all too real—and painful—in the official trailer for Apartment 212.
Directed by Haylar Garcia, Apartment 212 stars Penelope Mitchell, Sally Kirkland, Chris Johnson, and Kyle Gass. You can enter Apartment 212 when Gravitas Ventures releases it in theaters and on VOD platforms beginning March 16th.
Synopsis: "Fleeing an abusive relationship, Jennifer Conrad is a small-town girl starting over in the big city. We round up the latest horror-tinged Blu-ray and DVD releases....
So, after a brief hiatus, it turns out a lot’s happened in the few months between these round ups. A snap general election has been called, terror has struck at the heart of Manchester and a scandal approaching Watergate levels has hit the U.S presidency. More importantly, Troll 2 has finally come to UK Netflix and is the cherry on the cake made entirely of a series of kind of wonderful, kind of… not films on DVD and Bluray.
So, 1990’s Troll 2, you may or may not be aware of, is generally regarded as one of the very greatest 'so bad it’s good' movies. There are many worse (The Rollerblade Seven or Gary Oldman little person rom-com Tiptoes come to mind), though it’s difficult to think of many other truly awful movies...

So they hatch an elaborate scheme to steal a cache of guns from a local trash pickup man who has a pro-gun sticker on his truck. From Columbine to Sandy Hook, school shootings have truly become a modern American terror, and given horror cinema’s historic penchant for addressing the populace’s real-life anxieties in the wake of such tragedies, it was only a matter of time before a filmmaker reflected on this raw topic.
Just as the Saw series and Eli Roth’s Hostel (debatably reactionary films which perhaps unconsciously attempted to ease our psyches in the wake of the stream of beheading and torture videos which emanated from the Middle East commencing with the first Gulf War) drew audience attention, so did George Romero’s 1968 classic feature Night of the Living Dead, via its thinly-veiled commentary on race relations. The amount of sociological discourse inherent in horror is voluminous, and Colorado filmmaker Haylar Garcia is about to throw his hat into the ring, with his forthcoming feature An American Terror (the film’s trailer...

Never heard of Ben Hibon, the director of “A.D.”, or the movie for that matter. But I do dig this teaser trailer that they’ve put out for their upcoming CG animated zombie horror film. I would like to see more, but as the saying goes, beggars can’t be choosers. Written by Haylar Garcia and directed by Ben Hibon, “A.D.” is apparently a post-apocalyptic zombie movie about a world overrun by the living dead, and your only salvation is — a plane tarmac? No word on a release date, or in what platform we’ll be getting the movie. I’m guessing DVD. More info at their official site. There’s not much there right now, some stills and the teaser (below).

Some circles have been buzzing over the last 24 hours over an animated teaser called A.D. The project is by writer Haylar Garcia, director Ben Hibon and one of the many producers credited on 300 , Bernie Goldmann. And it's actually not too damn shabby! Here's the rub, it's a preview to generate interest in possible investors who will fund a feature version of A.D. It may come to fruition, it might not. Garcia and Hibon have gotten over the first couple humps of this endeavor, they made something cool, it works and it's being seen wide on the web. For more on the project, check out this interview with the creative team!

All I can say is it's about time. One thing the horror genre lacks more of is animated features and that's exactly what we are getting with this wicked animated zombie flick called A.D.. The Undead all toon'd up ready to eat some brains and crave some flesh . . . now that's what I'm talking about! Seriously, this thing looks so off the hook! Why are you still reading us blabbing on and not reading more right now?!!
So the trailer for A.D. showed up on Zombie Info a few days ago and man does this look boss or what? I'm sure you're like me and want to watch this sucker right now am I right? Well, unfortunately we can't (don't you just hate it when a horror site reports on something that you just can't wait to see? They just rub it in and make you that much more impatient.

Animation and zombies are starting to become pretty popular, and if the teaser for A.D. is a sign of things to come, we're all going to be the better for it. First, take a look at this trailer below, and slap yourself if it doesn't intrigue and excite:
So what is A.D.? It's an independently financed film by writer Haylar Garcia, who worked on the documentary Do It For Johnny, and director by Ben Hibon, who has done animation work on Tokyo Zombie and the upcoming Harry Potter. Land of the Dead and 300 producer Bernie Goldmann is producing the movie, which is looking for financing and a home before going forward. In an interview with ZombieInfo, Goldmann revealed that he believes A.D. will be an enormous hit.

I love the undead just as much as the next horror fiend but it feels like the zombie market has been saturated with the same old stuff lately. Perhaps Ben Hibon’s animated zombie flick, A.D., can help stir things up a bit. There aren’t many plot details to uncover at this point but A.D.’s creator, Haylar Garcia, recently spoke to ZombieInfo about the film: “One day I realized that almost all zombie films, though cool, seemed to have such a modest scope. I suddenly wanted to write a screenplay that had the feel of a huge action flick coupled the macabre charm [...]

I think it’s high time we moved Zombies over to the animated world. I’ve seen more than my share of what live action Zombies can do to fleshy, breathing humans. It’s time C.G.I. people learned to share in the pain of getting a good chomping or the pleasure of taking your Mom’s garden hoe and inserting it edgewise between the hemispheres of your typical garden Zombie. In this really wicked looking trailer for A.D., directed by Ben Hibon (Codehunters), produced by Bernie Goldmann (300), Tarik Heitmann and Renee Tab and written by Haylar Garcia, we are witness to a really hard edged adult art style and a hard lesson in progress about what happens when you take a break from your I.Q. whilst resting in the middle of a big road in broad daylight. Thanks to Quiet Earth for the tip.

To hear the words "horror" and "animation", let alone "zombies", spoken in the same breath is as rare as there are too many PG comedy-driven animated films so I was pleasantly surprised to see the A.D. teaser via Quietearth that contains exactly just that. The teaser for the action-horror adventure is directed by Ben Hibon (Codehunters) and produced by Bernie Goldmann (George Romero's Land of the Dead, 300), Tarik Heitmann and Renee Tab. Haylar Garcia, the creator/writer plans to develop a full length feature and present "the unstoppable godfather of all zombie films".
