Patrick F. Gleason is a screenwriter, attorney and actor.
After editing the Fordham literary journal in college, he attended law school and won the legal writing competition for a full scholarship and a law review position. He practiced law in New Hampshire and Maine, where he argued appellate cases as well as jury trials. On moving back to New York, he edited trial handbooks before working in house at a major corporate law department. He also studied and acted with Riverside Shakespeare, as well as appearing on most New York daytime dramas (most notably in the recurring comical role of "Bruce the Spruce" on "As the World Turns").
Patrick's first screenplay was optioned by Cavu Pictures. He then was engaged by HarperCollins to write the biography of the first Shaolin monk to defect to the United States, entailing intensive traditional kung fu training in the United States and China over a two year period. Also, while working as a legal staffing and sales executive, he was the head of screenwriting at the award-winning Digital Film Academy, guiding novice independent filmmakers on the craft and art of scripting original narratives. He most recently has worked promoting and advancing cutting edge artificial intelligence and sophisticated software transforming the legal world.
In addition to his Jesuit education, he has also studied intensively in Zen and Chan Buddhism, and lives with his wife and daughters in a century old loft that he helped rebuild in Williamsburg Brooklyn.
