It doesn’t get any more delightful than the surprising, warm documentary about beloved baseball legend Yogi Berra, It Ain’T Over. Surprising? Yes, as this well-made bio documentary looks back at Yogi’s outstanding baseball career as player, something overshadowed and even forgotten by fans, as he became best known as a lovable pop culture icon and for his “Yogi-isms,” quotable phrases like “it’s deja vu all over again,” “when you come to a fork in the road, take it” and “it ain’t over until it’s over.” Yet Yogi Berra was a baseball player whose record put him among the greats of the game, As actor and baseball fan Billy Crystal put it, Yogi was “the most overlooked superstar in the history of baseball.”
The numbers are impressive, jaw-dropping even, considering what we might think we know about Yogi Berra.

Before the biggest names in sports were celebrated for their championship achievements at the Espys, the Fifth Annual ESPN Sports Humanitarian Awards once again celebrated the positive things that athletes do on Tuesday night.
Ciara hosted the VIP event at L.A. Live’s The Novo in Los Angeles for the first time, with singer Andy Grammer warming up the audience with a lively rendition of “Honey, I’m Good” before they honored those who give back.
The most coveted award of the night was the Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award, which this year went to former Philadelphia Eagles defensive end and founder of Waterboys.Org, Chris Long.

In 2017, Long donated his entire year’s salary to charity, and was chosen for his “commitment to giving back through strategic, multifaceted efforts,” which attack larger systemic issues such as building wells in East Africa.

After undergoing surgery to save his testicles, St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina should avoid stimulation to that area for at least 6 weeks ... so says the doctors from "Botched." Dr. Terry Dubrow and Dr. Paul Nassif were both shocked to learn about the injury Molina suffered when he took a 102 mph fastball to the groin during a game on Saturday. The team officially described the injury as a "pelvic injury with traumatic hematoma" -- but...

[[tmz:video id="0_2d2aw4tu"]] Here's Yadier Molina and his St. Louis Cardinals teammates showing that winning is a whole lot of freakin' fun ... having a Latin-flavored dance party on the team plane on the way to Boston. The Cards played the Red Sox earlier this week, and even though they dropped two to the Beantown boys, they're still 7-3 in their last 10, gaining on the Cubs in the Central, with a lot to celebrate. Seems like the guys had...

Don’t tell their mascot Fredbird, but it looks like the St. Louis Cardinals may have a new good luck charm on their hands.
On Wednesday, the team was in the midst of a heated game against cross-state rivals the Kansas City Royals — trailing on their home turf 5-4 in the sixth inning.
It was a tense situation for both teams — but especially the Cardinals, who, with four straight wins up until that point,...

Where, oh where, did my baseball go?
In a hilarious video posted on the Mlb Instagram, St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina just can’t seem to find his missing ball.
The pitcher, Brett Cecil, winds up and throws to a Cubs batter, who swings and misses.
As the Cubs player runs away, a frantic search for the ball begins.
No one seems to know, not even Molina, who looks all around the ground before finally spotting the baseball — stuck to his red chest protector.
He puts his hands on his hips and shakes his head.

Eagle-eyed viewers during Sunday's (Oct. 27) World Series Game 4 between the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox spotted something kind of weird during the Stand Up to Cancer moment in the game.
While players, coaches, booth announcers and crowd members were holding up signs of someone affected by cancer, former "Bachelor" contestant Sarah Newlon was spotted with a sign that read "Molina," chuckling with the friend she's sitting with -- video here at Deadspin.
The sites that spotted her immediately jumped on the inappropriateness of her actions -- since, presumably, St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina does not have cancer (though he has probably been affected by it, a lot of people have). In fact, one site erroneously says she's a Boston Red Sox fan. She's not. It's very clear from her Twitter feed that she's a Cardinals fan.
Newlon has taken to Twitter to explain the sign:
