He is the youngest player in the modern major leagues (American and National); however, the all-time record is held by Frederick Joseph Chapman. At age 14 years, 140 days, he pitched in a game on 22 July 1887 for Philadelphia of the American Association, a major league in the 19th century. This was his only major league appearance.
