This is the largest slate in the 21-month history of the TV production company, a joint venture between NBCUniversal International and Working Title Films’ Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner that in July tapped Daniel Pipski as its new head. Four of Working Title TV’s six projects are at NBC and Universal Television, which have a first-look deal with the company through the joint venture arrangement: dramas We, The Potters written by David Sussman, McMafia written by Matt Johnson & John Turman and Gypsy Tea Room written by Chris Monger, and comedy My Nuclear Family penned by Lucy Dahl. Universal TV also produces The Outside Man, a light drama Working Title TV has in the works at NBCU’s flagship cable network USA with Matt Johnson and John Turman writing. Variety have revealed that “Enchanted” director Kevin Lima and writer David Sussman have been recruited to develop an untitled pitch for Sony Pictures Animation. Originated by art director Michael Kurinsky and producer Chris Chase, the project is described as a part live-action, part CGI animated film like last year’s blockbuster “Alice in Wonderland.” No details have surfaced on the plot yet. Sony Animation has tapped Enchanted director Kevin Lima and screenwriter David Sussman to develop an untitled project. The details are under wraps and the greenlighters are waiting on Sussman’s script, which Lima will direct. Word is the film will be a live-action/CGI hybrid “in the vein of Alice in Wonderland,” which could refer to the Tim Burton hit, the Disney animated classic, or Lewis Carroll’s original novel, or none of the above.
After pulling in more than $300 million worldwide for Disney with Enchanted, Lima has been linked to Universal’s Candy Land as well as The Incredible Mr. Limpet, a remake of a 1964 Don Knotts vehicle. Sussman has been working on Sony’s comedy Marathon and the two of them are in the thick of a TV pilot about a New York City family for Fox.

Kevin Lima (Enchanted) has long been a Disney guy, but now he's got a project with Disney rival Sony Pictures Animation. The film is so tip-top secret that there's not even a bluster about the simplest of premise, just that "Mystery Science Theater 3000" writer David Sussman is working on a script and that, until that script is turned in, it's not officially greenlit. Lima and Sussman are working together already on a pilot for an animated TV series about a family who lives in New York City. Lima would produce and direct the secret Spa project.
Lima began his career working as an animator on films like The Little Mermaid and a director on A Goofy Movie and Tarzan and according to IMDb is currently is working on The Mouse House's 2012 animated film The Snow Queen. Lima was attached to direct Candyland for Universal which has not gone into production.
