[[tmz:video id="0_xc336b6r"]] Colin Kaepernick's days in the NFL are Not over ... so says ex-Detroit Lions Gm Matt Millen who tells TMZ Sports he's convinced the guy will sign a contract before the season begins. Long story short ... Millen is convinced Kaepernick still has the talent to play winning football and says NFL teams know it. [[tmz:video id="0_s4m7vt7g"]] Matt Millen says all traces of his work in Detroit is "long gone" ... and he couldn't be more proud of how the Lions have bounced back into one of the best teams in the NFL. Of course, Millen was the President and CEO of the Lions from 2001 to 2008 and posted a 31-84 record during his run with the team and took responsibility for the results. Now that it's been 8 years since his ousting, Millen says...

Dear Detroit Lions,
How's it going? You don't have to answer; I was just being polite. After all, everyone knows things are going pretty well right now. You guys are 6-2, putting up points like it's nobody's business. Calvin Johnson is a beast. Ndamukong Suh is terrifying. Matthew Stafford has avoided injuring himself while putting on his backward ball cap. For the first time in a long time, things are looking up in the Motor City — at least when it comes to football.
Anyway, I'm writing because I'm concerned. Not really about your chances of making the playoffs (they appear to be pretty solid), but about Nickelback. As you are probably aware, someone (presumably within your organization) booked them as the...

Former Detroit Lions chief executive Matt Millen is headed from the boardroom to the network booth, as Espn announced the former Super Bowl winner is joining its team for this season's broadcast lineup.
Espn said Millen will begin work in August as analyst and contributor to both college football and the NFL. He's no stranger working in front of the camera, having been employed by CBS and Fox late last decade.
The 51-year-old former linebacker will be visible on such shows as "Monday Night Countdown," "NFL Live" and "SportsCenter," while also joining the "Monday Night Football" crew of analysts each week.
Millen served as Lions' president and CEO from 2001 to 2008, going 31-84 in that stretch. He was bold enough to admit that he has himself to blame following the Lions' continued woes, including last year's disastrous 0-16 mark.
