The severity of the emotional trauma experienced by any victim of physical or emotional abuse is so heinous and ghastly a crime perpetrated by the sinner that unless one scratches the outer layer of the victim’s psyche, one never gets to know the brutality or the cruelty. In dealing particularly with a sex crime, there are several ramifications that overrule and throw out several fundamental causes and leave a permanent impression on the victim. For one, incest continues to be a taboo subject and interferes with any wounded sufferer’s mental health some of which lead to numerous personality disorders.
Child abuse or incest is not a subject often discussed and deliberated upon both either in public or within the narrow confines of our secure homes. And since it is such an offensive and unmentionable issue that it’s considered forbidden.

Eminent filmmaker Ananth Narayan Mahadevan is in post-production on “Phule,” about the pioneers of women’s education in India.
Jyotirao Govindrao Phule and his wife Savitribai were social reformers known for their efforts against India’s endemic caste system. Phule’s first school for girls was founded in Pune, western India, in 1848. In 1873, Jyotirao Phule and his followers began the Satyashodhak Samaj (Truth-seekers’ Society) to campaign for increased rights for the underprivileged. In 1888, the honorific Mahatma (great soul), a term later used to describe Gandhi, was accorded to Phule.

Review Written by Vakkantham Vamsi and directed by Surender Reddy, ‘Agent’ has very little to do with the world of espionage and more to do with the subtext that plays out like a Greek mythological story. After several delays Akhil Akkineni’s Agent finally saw daylight. The actor has undergone a physical transformation and bulked up immensely. Now, was that necessary? Was it worth the effort? We will discuss this in the later part of this review. Agent has Akhil Akkineni, Sakshi Vaidya, Mammootty, and Dino Morea playing the main characters. The film is written by Vakkantham Vamsi and directed by Surender Reddy. Ramakrishna (Akhil Akkineni) aspires to be a spy for India’s premier agency: Research and Analysis Wing (Raw). Raw is headed by Mahadevan (Mammootty), who is also known as Devil for the ruthless and stony ways in which he executes missions. And there is a G0d...

"Rrr" is one of the best movies of 2022, a masterpiece of maximalist filmmaking, a wonderful historical epic with bombastic action, earnest characters, a hot romance, some hilarious hijinks, and arguably featuring the greatest musical number of the past decade.
The film follows a revolutionary warrior named Bheem, and an officer in the British colonizing force named Rama Raju. The two strike an epic friendship and eventually join forces after a fateful meeting while saving a kid from a burning train — as you do.
This is a movie that best represents the rule of cool. "Rrr" doesn't care about logic or physics, or even historical accuracy. Did rebels unleash an army of wild animals on a British garrison? Probably not, but does it matter? S.S. Rajamouli takes the best lesson from Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" and makes a movie where the British Empire is defeated by the power of friendship...

Ananth Narayan Mahadevan’s Busan International Film Festival selection “The Storyteller,” based on a short story by Oscar-winning Indian filmmaker Satyajit Ray, isn’t “just another homage” to the late master.
Film enthusiast Tapobrati Das Sammaddar recommended Ray’s story “Golpo Boliye Tarini Khuro” to Mahadevan, who was “instantly fascinated by the layered social satire.” The story follows an unpublished Bengali storyteller who answers a help ad from a Gujarati businessman who suffers from insomnia, and there is a twist in the tale.
Samaddar translated the story and Kireet Khurana (“T for Taj Mahal”) and Mahadevan developed it into a screenplay that was a faithful adaptation of the original. Mahadevan, who cites Ray’s “Charulata” and “Pather Panchali” as influences, says that the choice of film grammar was the tricky part of the shoot.
“If one claimed that the film would be a homage/tribute, then it called for an...

New Delhi, Aug 14 (Ians) More than six in 10 people, including in India, think they see false or misleading information on at least a weekly basis, a survey with participation from Google has revealed.
Roughly 50 per cent of all Gen X, Millennial and Gen Z respondents (ages 18 to 57) said they’re concerned about their family being exposed to it, according to a survey by the Poynter Institute in partnership with YouGov and support from Google.
The organisations surveyed more than 8,500 respondents of various ages in the US, Brazil, the UK, Germany, Nigeria, India and Japan.
“Gen Zers are two times more likely than the Silent Generation (people 68 or older) to use a search engine to verify information, and also two times more likely than Baby Boomers to check social media comments to verify something they’ve seen online,” said Alex Mahadevan, Director of MediaWise at the Poynter Institute.
