Netflix has released the first trailer for its series adaptation of “Firefly Lane,” starring Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke as lifelong best friends.
Based on the New York Times bestseller by Kristin Hannah, the 10-episode series tells the story of two inseparable best friends and their enduring, complicated bond, spanning four tumultuous decades. Here is the full series description:
The greatest love story of all can be between friends. When unlikely duo Tully (Katherine Heigl) and Kate (Sarah Chalke) meet at age fourteen, they couldn’t be more different. Tully is the brash and bold girl you can’t ignore, while Kate is the mousy shy girl you never notice. But when a tragedy brings them together, they are bonded for life — forever inseparable best friends. Together they experience thirty years of ups and downs — triumphs and disappointments, heartbreak and joy, and a love triangle that strains their friendship. One...

Freestyle Releasing, a division of Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studio, has acquired the rights to the indie romance “2 Hearts,” which stars “Euphoria” and “The Kissing Booth” actor Jacob Elordi and “Riverdale” actor Tiera Skovbye in an inspiring love story.
The film directed by Lance Hool will open in theaters on Sept. 11, and it follows two couples who are connected across two different decades and in other parts of the world but are brought together after they both suffer from a rare illness and discover that miracles can still happen.
“I believe that connections are everywhere,” Elordi says in the first trailer for “2 Hearts,” which you can watch above. “The kindness of a stranger, the first heartbeat of a baby, the love of your family, and I believe each one of us has a purpose, even if we can’t see it. Do you?”

I have many mixed tastes when it comes to horror and sometimes some movies just don’t work for me. Then there are ones that are crazy enough to not take themselves too seriously and just go for the crazy, and they catch me. Evil Feed is a film that mixes mixed martial arts, cannibalism and sex together in an orgy of cult sensationalism that refuses to let me hate it; I loved every minute of it.
When their friends disappear a group of martial artists are forced to infiltrate a Chinese restaurant where the menu is not exactly what it seems. With a fighting club being used to provide the meat for the dishes and the house...

Review: Adam Wing. Director: Kimani Ray Smith. Evil Feed is a new horror film that blends torture-porn excess with bruising Mma fight choreography. The Long Pig Restaurant, known in the underground world for its cannibalistic cuisine, has a new attraction. The Pit of Gore is where blood thirsty customers get to watch their chosen courses being slaughtered, as captured elite fighters are forced to battle to the death for their 'tendertainment'. See what they did there? Part of me suspects the filmmakers came up with the word 'tendertainment' first and the rest of the movie just kind of fell into place. Directed by Kimani Ray Smith, written by Smith, Aaron Au and Jana Mitsoula, and starring Laci J. Mailey, Terry Chen and Alyson Bath, Evil Feed came from the mind of Horror Film fanatic and prosthetics master Ryan Nicholson. With 'recommendations' from Jeffrey Dahmer, who claims it's his favourite place to eat,...

You are what you eat. That's what the tagline reads. Evil Feed is a new low budget horror movie that has our full attention at 24Fps. The Long Pig Restaurant, known in the underground world for its cannibalistic cuisine, has a new attraction. The Pit of Gore is where blood thirsty customers get to watch their prospective meals being tenderized as captured elite fighters are forced to battle to the death for their 'tendertainment'. Part of me gets the feeling the filmmakers came up with that word first and the rest of the movie just fell into place. The trailer looks pretty cool though, offering up an over the top blend of laugh out loud action, comedy and gore. Found
Written and directed by Scott Schirmer
USA, 2013
In Found, Marty (Gavin Brown), a horror movie-loving, graphic novel-writing suburban kid, discovers the severed heads his brother (Ethan Philbeck) keeps bringing home. Nonplussed at first, Marty soon has his life spiral into the kind of horror film he so dearly loves.
Watching Found can be quite the confusing experience. On the one hand, there’s themes of identity and maturity, with Marty experiencing bullying, sexual awakening, and familial conflict. There’s also a small commentary about the nature of horror movies and how they can desensitize younger audiences (Marty keeps his brother’s severed heads a secret, much like he does his mother’s old love letters from an ex and his father’s rude magazines).
But those qualities are all but made moot by the film’s jarringly inconsistent tone. The acting is stilted and stiff, making for an oddly...

Crazy, sexy and bloody hell of a dinner movie! That’s how they already describe the whole thing, but I’m not so sure what to think about this. First of all, Evil Feed is some strange mix of horror, action & martial arts. Which sounds great, but man – I totally hate the rest of the story ’cause if you loose a fight in that underground ring – they will simply serve you in the Chinese restaurant! Wtf?
Well, don’t ask me, Kimani Ray Smith is responsible for the whole thing. He directs the movie from a script he co-wrote with Aaron Au. Today we have some cool photos from this project to share with you, but they won’t fool me! I still think that the story is creepy enough to make me skip my dinner!
I mean, we have the Long Pig restaurant as the ultimate underground restaurant sensation.

When last we heard from Gutterballs and the upcoming Hanger’s Ryan Nicholson and Plotdigger Films, he and producer Aaron Au were hard at work readying Evil Feed, the sequel to Live Feed (see item here). As that production moved from Vancouver to La and is still being prepped, Plotdigger is now hard at work on its latest gorefest, Star Vehicle, a behind-the-scenes look at the film industry—but with all the cringe-inducing violence we’ve come to expect from this team—and passed on the exclusive first pics seen below.
Star Vehicle tells the story of a Teamster driver named Don (played by Plotdigger regular Dan Ellis) who’s sick of his endless abuse at the hands of ungrateful cast and crew members. He finally finds a reprieve in the form of scream queen Reversa Red (newcomer Sindy Faraguna), of whom he’s a big fan—the obsessive type,...

With Evil Feed, the sequel to Live Feed (pictured) now in preproduction at Plotdigger Films, it’s clear that writer/director Ryan Nicholson has officially conquered the need for sleep. With Hanger (see last item here) in the can and on the way to festivals, he’s now aiming for an ambitious May start date—and that’s not the only thing that’s ambitious about his new project.
Working with a much higher budget than his previous offerings and more complex stuntwork, Nicholson and his gang might really mean it this time when they say Evil Feed will be something we haven’t seen before. This continuation of the story and concepts behind Live Feed, Nicholson’s feature debut, tells the story of a martial arts team that is duped into participating in gladiatorial combat. Of course, this being a Plotdigger opus, characters will die in the most gruesome...
