The creator of James Bond, Ian Fleming, might just be played by Benedict Cumberbatch in an upcoming biopic...
What's that? You think it's been a little too long since the last Benedict Cumberbatch casting rumour, and you fancy another? Ah, right you are.
The planned biopic of Ian Fleming, the man of course who created James Bond 007, has had one or two bumps over the past few years. At one stage, Duncan Jones was set to direct, until his commitment to the Warcraft movie ruled out his involvement. However, the project - based on the 2009 biography of Fleming written by Andrew Lycett - is still going. And now Benedict Cumberbatch has been linked with the lead role.
The Tracking Board reports the he's been offered the part of Ian Fleming, although that's still a little way away from him accepting it and things moving forward.

Scheduling conflicts with his upcoming movie Warcraft, an adaptation of the popular video game fantasy series, led writer/director Duncan Jones to exit Fleming, his planned biopic about the dangerous life of author Ian Fleming and how his own adventures led to the creation of his litereary character James Bond. Matthew Brown (Clowns) and Roger Avary (Pulp Fiction) co-wrote the adaptation of Andrew Lycett’s Ian Fleming biography. According to Empire, with Jones scheduled to begin Warcraft next year with additional time needed for extensive post-production, his shot at directing Fleming evaporated.

The creator of James Bond lived more than his own fair share of drama, to be explored in a new 'period action movie' by the director of Moon
Some believe he dreamed up James Bond to be the bon vivant, daring and cultivated epitome of masculinity he could never quite live up to. In at least one regard, however, Ian Fleming is about to mimic his most famous creation: the author and former second world war naval commander is to be the subject of his very own movie, from the director of Moon and Source Code, Duncan Jones.
Jones will base his biopic on an adaptation by screenwriter Matthew Brown of Andrew Lycett's biography The Man Behind James Bond. The film reportedly has the support of the Fleming estate and is set to go into production later this year. It is something of a departure for Jones, whose two...

The 14th annual Boston Underground Film Festival is ready to kick ass and take names on March 29 to April 1 at the Brattle Theatre. And a few of those names will look familiar to Buff fanatics — and underground film fans the world over.
A trio of Buff favorites are returning to the fest with debut feature films after totally killing it with their amazing short films in the past. Jamie Heinrich‘s Happily Never After is a feature-length expansion of the short film that took home the Best of Fest Award in 2010, but with more solid and mature themes as the movie explores the problematic life of a degenerate photographer.
Another former award winner is Richard Bates Jr. who will be screening Excision, another feature-length extension of a short film, this one about a teenage girl who exercises her morbid obsession with surgery every chance she gets.
Steven Kostanski‘s feature...

Game's pockets are about to become significantly lighter. On Tuesday, a North Carolina appeals court judge ruled that the Documentary Mc pay $5 million in damages to five Greensboro police officers upholding a 2006 ruling, according to a report for local North Carolina affiliate My Fox 8.
The suit stems from an October 2005 incident, when Game was arrested at the Four Seasons Town Centre mall in North Carolina. Originally, Game was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct when he went into the mall to sign autographs wearing a mask. Mall security said that the rapper was wearing a full-face Halloween mask and cursing loudly. When Game was asked to leave, he refused and was arrested soon after.
