Michael Marotto was born in 1966 in Jersey City, New Jersey to parents

Michael attended School of Visual Arts in New York City from 1985 to 1986. His daughter Stephanie Kara Marotto was born in December of 1986.
Michael met his current wife Lisa while working on a stage production of "Bye Bye Birdie" at Union High School. Michael was a former student there and was asked to come back and help with the production. They were married in1993.
Due to having a daughter at such a young age, Michael postponed his personal interest and career ambitions to raise his daughter. "I had a responsibility to make sure my daughter and wife had a roof over their heads and food in there bellies. I put aside my own personal ambitions and did what I had to do to pay the bills."
In 1999 he landed a gig on the Independent Feature Film "The Homeboy". "I was the behind the scenes camera operator and photographer. I have to say, the first day on the set I felt like I had "made it", lol."
In 2002 he formed DreamCatcher Productions. During that time Dave Gebroe hired DreamCatcher Productions to do all the behind the scenes shooting on "Zombie Honeymoon."
In 2004 Michael and Steve Lanza began preproduction on "Death's A Bitch". This would be their first attempt at shooting a feature length picture.
"Death's A Bitch" began filming in February of 2005. Production wrapped on March 31, 2005.
In March 2013 Michael worked as the Director of Photography on "The Knights of Shame". "Knights was a great experience. I met allot of great people on that production. One of them was my good friend Sean T. Grant.
From July 2014 until January 25th 2015 , Michael was in pre-production to shoot the teaser trailer for "Wife Missing". This will be his directorial debut.
