Alastair Mackenzie, Jessica Frances Dukes and Debi Mazar have been added as supporting players in Filip Jan Rymsza’s fourth feature — cameras are currently rolling on Object Permanence which is being toplined by Millie Brady. Variety reports that the production is currently taking place in Poland with stops in Thailand and Germany directly after. Vincent Riotta, Johanna Wokalek, Andrzej Chyra, Jim Caesar, Luisa-Celine Gaffron, Marianna Zydek, Weronika Rosati, Ola Rudnicka and Maddie Kulicka complete the full cast. Scottish actor Alastair Mackenzie, recently spotted in “The Crown” and “Andor,” Jessica Frances Dukes and Debi Mazar have been added to the cast of Filip Jan Rymsza’s feature film “Object Permanence.”

They join previously announced star Millie Brady, who plays Brooke Brooks: a former supermodel who becomes a successful lifestyle mogul and is the first person to IPO herself.

Production is currently underway in Poland and will continue in Thailand and Germany. “Apples” DoP Bartosz Świniarski is lensing the film.

Set in the near future, “Object Permanence” is produced by Friends with Benefits Studio, with co-financing by the Polish Film Institute. Marta Lewandowska and Rymsza – the latter also behind “Mosquito State” – are producing, while CAA is handling North American sales.

“Filip’s script is an inspired study of the perils of celebrity and the conflictual relationships that exist within the system built up around it,” says Mackenzie, opening...

The film is based on the writer-director’s own novel.

Michael Cowan’s UK-based sales company Phoenix Worldwide Entertainment has acquired international rights, excluding Poland and Italy, to Lech Majewski’s Brigitte Bardot Forever.

Phoenix will introduce the Polish title to international buyers in Cannes as well as festival programmers.

Majewski, whose credits include The Garden of Earthly Delights andThe Mill and the Cross, based the film on his own novel Pilgrimage to the Tomb of Brigitte Bardot the Wonderful, in which he settles accounts with his youth, childhood, and all that Poland meant to him.

Malgorzata Szumowska and Michal Englert’s “Never Gonna Snow Again,” one of the buzziest titles out of the Venice Film Festival, has found distribution in the U.K., Italy and Germany.

Following what’s understood to have been a competitive process with wide interest, Picturehouse Entertainment has swooped for U.K./Eire rights. I Wonder has bought the film for Italy, and Real Fiction are on board for Germany. The film is sold internationally by The Match Factory.

“Never Gonna Snow Again” world premiered in Venice on Sept. 7 to critical acclaim. The film tells the story of masseur Zhenia, who hails from the Ukrainian city of Pripyat, which was deeply affected by the nearby Chernobyl blast. Zhenia enters the lives of the rich but troubled residents of a bland, walled-off community in Poland, where he begins to heal them with his hands and companionship, and changes their lives for good.

How much healing can a good massage provide? A fast-fading hour or so of relaxation, or a more sustained sense of general well-being and peace with the world, so long as it’s topped up with repeat appointments? In “Never Gonna Snow Again,” a searching, cryptic satire of bourgeois insularity in modern Poland, the magic hands of an immigrant Ukrainian masseur are tasked with easing a litany of woes, from middle-class guilt to climate change anxiety to terminal cancer — though no one thinks to ask him about his own interior aches and pains. Malgorzata Szumowska, best director winner at the Berlin Film Festival for “Body,” has started shooting “Wonder Zenia,” starring “Stranger Things” actor Alec Utgoff, on location in and around Warsaw.

Utgoff, who played Alexei in the third season of Netflix’s “Stranger Things” and also appeared in “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit,” stars in the title role in “Wonder Zenia.” The film also stars Agata Kulesza, who played “Red Wanda” in Oscar-winner “Ida,” Maja Ostaszewska (“Body”), Weronika Rosati and Katarzyna Figura.

Zenia, the film’s protagonist, is an industrious Ukrainian migrant worker in Poland who makes house calls as a masseur to the needy and aspirational residents of a middle-class gated community near Warsaw. He is privy to all of their problems, anxieties and secrets – and something of an unwitting guru figure. Zenia’s grounded spirituality, apparent healing powers and broad shoulders make him an object of lust for many of the lost souls in the community.

Filming is underway on the bike-racing thriller starring Eleanor Tomlinson (Polkdark), Sam Keeley (What Richard Did), and John Hannah (Four Weddings and a Funeral).

The film, produced by Andy Ryder and written by Simon Uttley, Max Kinnings, and Anthea Anka, is funded by The Fyzz Facility and also raised money through a Kickstarter campaign.

The lineups for the Mavericks, Discovery, and Tiff Kids parts of the Toronto Film Festival were announced, wrapping up a series of lineup announcements for the Toronto International Film Festival.

With the added films, the festival’s entire slate is now a whopping 393 movies. Two hundred eighty-five of those movies are feature films, of which 143 are world premieres.

Bill Murray is coming to Toronto folks. Actually, the film he stars in (Theodore Melfi’s St. Vincent) is having its official World Premiere launch at the jaw-dropping 285 feature film 2014 Tiff line-up. In the final batch of items we finally get the confirmation that 2014′s Palme d’Or Winner Winter Sleep (which gets added along with a trio of others to the Masters Programme) will show, and Tomm Moore’s highly anticipated Song of the Sea (among the four item line-up for Tiff Kids) also lands. The Sundance Film Festival has entered into a partnership with Poznan’s Transatlantyk Film Festival to present a selection of its titles at the forthcoming fourth edition running from August 8-14.

The new sidebar, Sundance at Transatlantyk, will screen such films as Fishing Without Nets, The Green Prince, Watchers Of The Sky, 52 Tuesdays, Difret and A Most Wanted Man, and invite the films’ creators to meet with the audience for Q&As after the screenings.

The 2013 summer movie season continues on, with this week seeing the release of The Wolverine. It’s been getting some fairly good buzz, and I’m actually interested in seeing it. In the meantime, this week’s Trailer Trashin’ column looks at the upcoming comedy Last Vegas.

Premise: Billy (Michael Douglas), Paddy (Robert De Niro), Archie (Morgan Freeman), and Sam (Kevin Kline) have been best friends since childhood. So when Billy, the group’s sworn bachelor, finally proposes to his thirty-something girlfriend, the four head to Las Vegas with a plan to stop acting their ages and relive their glory days. However, upon arriving, the four quickly realize that the decades have transformed Sin City and tested their friendship in ways they never imagined. The Rat Pack may have once played the Sands, and Cirque du Soleil may now rule the Strip, but it’s these four who are taking over Vegas.

Sylvester Stallone's latest revenge focused flicked, Bullet to the Head, is coming to blu-ray this July, and Warner Bros. has just announced all the details that will be coming with the blu-ray and exactly when you'll be able to get your hands on it.

I didn't get a chance to see Bullet to the Head in theaters when it first came out. I enjoy Stallone, and his movies, despite them being of a single-purpose, but I never got around to checking this one out. Due to its mixed reviews, I decided it was probably best to wait until the film hit store shelves. Now we know when it's going to!

Pictures has provided us with the full gallery of photos for director Walter Hill's Bullet to the Head , opening February 1st and starring Sylvester Stallone, Sung Kang, Sarah Shahi, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Christian Slater, Jon Seda, Weronika Rosati and Jason Momoa. Based on a graphic novel, the R-rated film tells the story of a New Orleans hitman (Stallone) and a DC cop (Kang) who form an alliance to bring down the killers of their respective partners. There’s no other way to start this review/recap without giving away a (possibly) Major Spoiler: poor, young Nathan Israel (Patrick J. Adams) took a glass ashtray to the head — twice nonetheless! — thanks to the anger and fury of one Michael “Mike” Smythe (Michael Gambon). When we last see young Nathan, he’s on the floor, inside Mike’s yacht, unconscious and bleeding profusely from his wounds. There is a good chance that he is dead (we’ll probably get a confirmation in Episode 8). The fact that he doesn’t check in with Ace (Dustin Hoffman) and Gus (Dennis Farina) the after his meeting with the evil big wigs worries them. They try to convince themselves that he’s probably enjoying the beautiful women in Mike’s harem but that scenario is way too good to be true.

The real life misdeeds of Richard Kuklinski will be covered in Bleiberg Entertainment's The Iceman. Growing up in a household of violence, where his brother was killed, Richard learned to use violence and aggression to solve his problems. He killed his first victim at the age of twelve or thirteen when a bully became too physical with him. He would murder several more in Manhattan where he perfected his trade, murder-for-hire. Kurlinski would then spend several years working for the Gambino Family and now his lowlights are being sensationalized in a real life crime thriller, which hosts an all star cast.

For now, the first poster for The Iceman is hosted here and the graphic states "Loving husband. Devoted father. Ruthless Killer." Have a look at a murderous legend who claimed to have killed "more than 250 people," below.

According to Variety, Gary Oldman, Malin Akerman and Milo Ventimiglia will star in indie gangster project "Criminal Empire for Dummies."

Film centers on a charismatic young man (Ventimiglia) who relates the rules of running a criminal empire through flashbacks to his own rise from a tragic childhood and the ghetto to multinational kingpin.

Michael Clarke Duncan is also attached along with Polish thesps Borys Szyc, Danuta Stenka and Weronika Rosati.

The film is written and directed by Cliff Dorfman.

Lensing is set to start this month in New Orleans.
