Part owner and vice president of the Chicago White Sox from 1956 to 1959, he inherited a portion of the team upon the death of his mother Grace, but a family conflict with his sister Dorothy Rigney led to the team's sale to
Bill Veeck. A team batboy in his youth, he was the last member of the Comiskey family (including his grandfather Charles and his father J. Louis) to be associated with the club.
