But Payback, the latest series from the team behind the monster hit Line of Duty, centers on a widow, Lexie Noble, who learns her just-murdered husband—an accountant—was mixed up with the Scottish underworld. “[Her] life implodes overnight after she discovers the life she has been living has possibly been funded by dirty money,” executive producer Madonna Baptiste says. Jed Mercurio’s Htm Television’s is working on Payback, a six-part crime drama for the UK’s ITV and Britbox International. Morven Christie, Peter Mullan and Prasanna Puwanarajah are leading the cast, and screenwriter Debbie O’Malley is writing.
Billed as a “compelling character-led series,” Payback will follows Lexie Noble,, as she becomes entangled in a perilous police operation to topple a notorious crime lord, Cal Morris. Puwanarajah and Derek Riddell play financial investigators looking into Lexie’s husband Jared, who has been laundering Cal’s illegal earnings behind her back.

The six-part series stars Morven Christie (“The Bay”), Peter Mullan (“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”), Prasanna Puwanarajah (“Ten Percent”) and Derek Riddell (“Industry”).
Written by Debbie O’Malley (“Call the Midwife”), “Payback” follows Lexie Noble (Christie) as she becomes entangled in a police operation to topple a notorious crime lord, Cal Morris (Mullan). The drama will be filmed in Glasgow, Edinburgh and surrounding areas.

Tamsin Greig stars as DC Maggie Brand in the three-part series, which launches on Thursday, September 5 at 9pm.
Set across two timelines - 2008 and the present day - The Guilty follows Brand as she investigates the disappearance of young boy Callum Reid, while also dealing with her own son's autism diagnosis.
In 2008, Callum's parents (Katherine Kelly and Darren Boyd) search for their missing son, while five years later his body is discovered.
The Guilty is written by Law & Order: UK's Debbie O'Malley, and comes from Hartswood Films, the television production company behind Sherlock.
