Milestones have a way of delivering the best.
It's most likely because of the nostalgia. While Station 19 Season 7 Episode 5 didn't go out of its way to give us this distinctly huge installment that marked its 100th episode run, it still succeeded at delivering a full circle hour that celebrated many of the characters.
And by the end of the hour, you found yourself lamenting this cancellation again and longing for some success with the #SaveStation19 campaign.
If S.W.A.T. can continue to cheat death and have reverse cancellations, why can't one of our favorite "wee-woo" shows?
While there's no question that there have been some rocky moments throughout Station 19 Season 7 thus far, "My Way" was a reminder that the series still is capable of having exciting installments with many stories left to tell.
Andy Herrera is at the show's center, so it felt fitting that a milestone installment would celebrate a significant event for her.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Station 19 Season 7 Episode 5 “My Way.”] The Station 19 family, for the most part, stands together in the ABC drama’s 100th episode, an hour that fittingly shows the dangers and realities of their jobs—and the cruelest parts, emphasized with the budget cuts coming. As Station 19‘s milestone episode begins, work is a somber place—Maya (Danielle Savre) tries to act like normal and show off baby photos, but no one’s having it—and tensions are high. Vic (Barrett Doss) doesn’t even look at Maya’s phone. Ben (Jason George) and Travis (Jay Harden) are sniping at each other over the former’s back. Vic finds out Crisis One is being shut down due to the budget issues. ...

As upset as we may be that Station 19 is being forcibly ended by ABC, we can’t say that new showrunners Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige aren’t sending the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff out with a spectacular bang. Take Thursday’s harrowing episode, for example. In “My Way,” a fire at the Space Needle nearly — but thankfully only nearly — did in Ben and Sullivan, who then wasted no time proposing to Ross. (Once he promised never to make her “play or feel small,” she said yes.)

Since The CW revamped its schedule, the football drama All American remains one of the last originals.
Since its spinoff, All American: Homecoming, was also renewed and is scheduled to air sometime in the summer of 2024, it’s not overall surprising they want to capitalize on both.
It’s not uncommon for a TV to expand its universe into spinoffs. Most often, procedural-type franchises such as CSI, Law & Order, and the One Chicago Universe have done it.
However, we’ve seen teen shows do it successfully, including The Vampire Diaries universe on The CW and The Fosters transitioning into Good Trouble on Freeform.
All American and All American: Homecoming are succeeding the way they are. Do we need additional spinoffs?
What is All American About?
All American was inspired by the life of professional football player Spencer Paysinger. Daniel Ezra portrays the fictional lead role of Spencer James.

Director Bryan Bertino crafted a classic of the home invasion genre when "The Strangers" hit theaters in 2010. Now, Lionsgate has teamed up with director Renny Harlin ("Deep Blue Sea") to revamp the franchise with not just one movie, but an entire trilogy that will not just remake the first film, but further explore these mysterious killers across three full movies. The studio is deeply committed, as all three movies are already in the can. Hence, they brought some new footage from "The Strangers: Chapter 1" to this year's CinemaCon, and I was on hand to see what they had to show us. Buckle up, horror fans.
Harlin explained in an interview with /Film that he hopes to "answer some of those questions that I think all of us who enjoyed the original were left wondering" such as "Why? Who were the Strangers? Why did they do this? Is this completely really random,...

Nineteen had an incredibly harrowing day.
And we have an incredibly opinionated round table regarding Station 19 Season 7 Episode 4.
Maybe you'll love or loathe it, but no one holds back!
Join Ellie Mv, Heather M., and TV Fanatics Sara Trimble and Hailey Whitmire White as they discuss the episode in full!
What was your impression of this highly intense episode high on emotions?
Ellie: I'm going to sound heartless for saying that, but the episode has made me feel nothing on emotions. Why? Because the writers, the synopsis, and the trailers have the gift to make the episodes sound intense when it's not the case after watching it. And that's what happened with this episode.
Sara: I agree with Ellie: nothing, nada, zip. I see where they thought they were going with the emotional triggers. But I'm disassociated with the entire station.
I can't connect with anything or anyone this season.

The MCU’s ‘Echo’ was a significant show for several reasons. Firstly, it marked the first TV-ma show within the MCU and was part of the ‘Marvel Spotlight’ banner, debuting on Hulu simultaneously. Additionally, it played a role in establishing the timeline of the MCU by incorporating elements from the Netflix Defenders Saga.
Despite initial doubts from fans due to Echo’s relatively lesser-known status in the comics, the show pleasantly surprised audiences with its action and Alaqua Cox’s performance. With the post-credits scene setting up events for the upcoming ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ it’s clear that Echo will continue to play a significant role in the MCU’s future.
It’s uncertain if there will be a season 2 of ‘Echo’ since ‘Loki’ is the only MCU show confirmed for a second season. However, Cox expressed her desire for Maya’s story to continue in a recent interview with Screenrant.

MCU’s ‘Echo’ was a significant show for many reasons. First, it was the first TV-ma show released on the platform as a part of the MCU, it was also the first show to release under the ‘Marvel Spotlight’ banner, and the first to release on Hulu simultaneously. The show also changed the MCU timeline canonizing Netflix’s Defenders Saga.
While plenty of fans expected the show to fail since Echo is in large part, a lesser and not exactly popular character in the comics, it was a breath of fresh air. Fans were surprised both by the action and by Cox’s performance, and needles to say, we can expect to see more of Echo in the future, considering that the show, through the post-credits scene, directly led to the events of the upcoming ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’

First appearing in the 2021 Disney+ MCU miniseries Hawkeye, Alaqua Cox made a splash with the audience through her understated yet impactful performance as Maya Lopez in the show, which also set her up for her bright future in the franchise. And the audiences were not left disappointed when she appeared again in her own standalone miniseries as the titular character Echo.

After the series wrapped up, the possibilities for the character skyrocketed to new heights with the multiverse opening new gates for the future. Thus, if there is to be a season 2 somewhere down the line, then Cox revealed that she would want her character to fight the Green Goblin from the Spider-Man films, which many fans are calling a pipe dream.

Alaqua Cox’s character Maya Lopez, the adopted daughter of the supervillain Kingpin, made her debut in Jonathan Igla’s Hawkeye (2021). The character, also referred to as Echo, is among the few deaf comic book characters. Following that, the actress played the lead role in the spin-off series Echo (2024), which co-starred Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil.

It remains to be seen where Cox’s character will appear following the conclusion of the Echo finale, but Marvel Studios is obviously putting time, resources, and efforts into the new fan-favorite character. Ethan Hawke would love to make a sequel to 'The Black Phone'.The 53-year-old actor played serial killer The Grabber in Scott Derrickson's hit 2022 horror flick and has revealed that he would be keen to reprise the part, even though he had seemingly met his maker at the end of the film.Speaking to Collider, Ethan said: "Thanks, I have a good relationship, you know, like Maya (his actress daughter) said about directors - it's really true of Scott Derrickson. I had a really wonderful experience making my first scary movie with him. We did a movie called 'Sinister', and he's just a real filmmaker."I love the way he thinks about film and storytelling. Gearbox’s sci-fi role-playing first-person shooter series Borderlands is no stranger to crazy ideas. In fact, these games are known for their over-the-top, crazy ideas. They have numerous guns; each of those guns is different from the other, and they have vast planets that players can explore as they complete quests and side quests for different NPCs.
But the story of these games is such that characters often end up dying in them. Besides a few mainstay characters, it’s rare to see characters get carried over to the next game. Lorne Michaels has a reputation for not accepting SNL cast resignations until they’ve had a few months to think about it. It would seem it’s not without good reason.
In a new interview with The New York Times, Maya Rudolph recalled quitting the show after her seventh season, only to change her mind.
“I wasn’t ready to leave when I [first] left,” she told the Times. “I kind of left twice, I said goodbye, and I was like, Oh, I’m back for one more.”
One can be forgiven for not remembering, but Rudolph did all of this quite publicly.

Another week, another traumatic episode of a Shonda Rhimes show that centers around a vulnerable group.
On Station 19 Season 7 Episode 3, the firehouse fam attends a Pride parade to celebrate Seattle's LGBTQ+ community. For a full recap and review, check out TV Fanatic Jasmine Blu's expert take on True Colors!
During the Pride parade, a car backfires, the sound is mistaken for a gunshot, and chaos erupts. As painful as it is, this is an entirely predictable series of events because Shondaland loves to give marginalized communities a tragedy to rally around.
Don't get us wrong. We love this universe. Everything Shonda Rhimes touches turns to gold.
But we'd be remiss if we ignored the fact that sometimes it's hard to stomach some of the painful storylines vulnerable communities have to endure in the worlds she builds.
Looking back on the history of Shonda's television empire, it's clear that this isn't a new phenomenon.

We got a Pride-themed installment of Station 19.
Unfortunately, after Station 19 Season 7 Episode 3, our Round Table isn't feeling very prideful, as they express mixed feelings about how the series tackled the theme and who the hour centered.
The installment included a blast from the past when Maya saw her brother Mason protesting Pride and Travis and his father having a much-needed heart-to-heart.
Join our Station 19 Round Table, which is comprised of Ellie Mv, Heather M., and TV Fanatics Haley Whitmire White and Sara Trimble, as they break down the episode.
Join the discussion below.
If you had to grade the season so far, what would it be? What are you enjoying most about the season, and what are you struggling with most?
Ellie: Oh boy… *nervous laugh*
If I had to grade the season so far, it would be 0/10. I'm sorry, but this is the worst season the writers have ever written.

IFC Films’ Late Night With The Devil topped the specialty market in its second week, as a Tollywood and a Bollywood film both made the top ten in a rare occurrence. Strong horror and Indian fare have helped buoy the box office since Covid. They continue to fill in the top ten, including this week, which boasts a monstrous hit in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire — but is a neighborhood with fewer overall wide release due to Hollywood strikes.
Scary first: Late Night With The Devil by Australian duo Colin and Cameron Cairnes stars David Dastmalchian, perfection as a late 1970s talk show host whose quest for ratings on a Halloween night broadcast goes nowhere good, unleashing evil into the nation’s living rooms. It grossed $2.2 million on 1,442 screens in week two, for a cume of $6.2 million. The film is in the top ten again, at no. 7.
A pleased...

Editor’s Note: This review originally published during the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. Utopia will release “Omen” in theaters Friday, April 12.
One of the innumerable tragedies that have resulted from the decades-long strife in the Democratic Republic of Congo is the suffocation of any kind of national cinema. For most of this century, the nation’s capital, Kinshasa, has not even had a film theater; due to chronic funding difficulties and the instability that plagues much of the country, the handful of non-documentary features about Congo that emerge are largely financed by foreign players.
“Omen,” the feature debut by hip-hopper-turned-filmmaker Baloji, is a Belgian, Dutch, and Congolese co-production, and even as it offers a deeply felt look at Congolese customs, sensibilities, and family dynamics, it foregrounds its own European perspective. What results is an intriguingly ambivalent reckoning with Baloji’s mother country, a genre-hopping, beautifully slippery exploration of Congolese belief systems...
