She's just as much a fan of Cajun and Creole food as of borshcht (her
family's Ukrainian), and, while not a fan of computers, she's into
low-tech art like pinhole photography.
Her family is of Ukrainian descent.
Her surname was changed from Shefschenko when the family immigrated to
America in the 1940s.

I wanted to write songs that were timeless. Not that I consider myself in the same league as Willie Nelson and Harlan Howard, but maybe just something more like a novel than a short story.
