Rob Turfe is an independent filmmaker who has worked on indie films since 1997 as a producer and contributing writer in Los Angeles and Chicago while simultaneously growing technology businesses. He co-wrote the first draft of the feature version of The Sacrifice by the Euphrates with Benedict Fitzgerald (co-screenwriter with Mel Gibson, The Passion Of The Christ), and has since expanded it to a six episode limited series. The Sacrifice by the Euphrates is the story of Husayn, whose stand against tyranny and oppression 1,400 years ago has stood the test of time, influencing heroics from contemporary activists such as Gandhi and Nelson Mandela, and inspiring thoughtful recognition from notable authors and historians to include Charles Dickens, Victor Hugo, Edward Gibbon and Thomas Carlyle. Rob also wrote the feature screenplay Caution: Children At Play, children meant literally and metaphorically as "governments" at play.
Rob graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he was commissioned as an engineer officer. He is also a graduate of the army airborne and ranger schools and served in the first Gulf War and with the United Nations in the former Yugoslavia, where he designed and implemented missions in combat zones. Additionally, Rob was a Managing Partner at Applied Minds, a technology invention firm and global think tank. Rob is very active in the advancement of human rights globally, with the aim of both fighting bigotry and assisting people in underprivileged areas, including orphans and those with disabilities.
