Josh Widdicombe has said that he didn't think anyone would watch The Last Leg.
The stand-up comedian is a panellist on the Channel 4 show, which started as a nightly round-up of the Paralympic Games in 2012.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Widdicombe said that he was not nervous about being a part of the programme when it originally aired.
"To be honest, when it first started I thought it was going to be so low key and no-one was going to watch it that I didn't really think much of it," he admitted.
"I certainly didn't expect this to happen. I thought it would be the kind of thing where I'd get some free tickets for the Paralympics and it would be a bit of a laugh. Then before you know it, it's defined your career."
The new presenter of BBC Radio 5 Live's Fighting Talk added: "I think that's why, in many ways,...

Gabby Logan has slammed Sky Sports for the way it treats female presenters. The 40-year-old star - who worked for the brand from 1996 to 1998 - has hit out at the company for not giving female hosts of the 24-hour Sky Sports News channel, who include Charlotte Jackson and Georgie Thompson, a ''career path'' at the organisation compared to their male colleagues. She said: ''The girls are basically wearing a leotard while the bloke's in a suit and a tie. It's fine if they're given a career path, but there have never been any big breakthrough women on Sky.

Regis Philbin will soon be the center of another talk show. It's been revealed that the 81-year-old television personality is going to host the new show "Crowd Goes Wild" when it premieres on cable channel Fox Sports 1 on Aug. 19.
Apparently talking about sports is something that Philbin wishes he could have done more of on "Live With," but his co-hosts and bosses weren't having it. "I could talk about what I'd seen last night at Yankee Stadium or something like that, and Kathie Lee's eyes would start to get scared," Philbin says at a Manhattan news conference, via the Associated Press. "Talk about something else, a football game that was so hot this Sunday, and Kelly would just not care at all. And [executive producer Michael] Gelman would say, 'What are you talking about?'"
"Crowd Goes Wild" will feature Philbin chatting with guests who are both celebrities and athletes on the show.

Georgie Thompson has revealed that she is still friends with her ex-boyfriend Declan Donnelly. The Sky Sports presenter split from the Britain's Got Talent host after almost two years in April 2011. The pair were said to have broken up due to Donnelly not wanting to start a family together. She explained that, despite the fact that they are "done and dusted", they are still in contact. "We are still in touch. We own a racehorse called Primeval (more)...

Sky Sports F1 is Sky’s latest channel to hit the network and it kicks off next weekend at the Australian Grand Prix. Since I’m a rather big F1 fan and this has a link to TV I thought I’d put up these great little featurettes that Sky have just released introducing us all to their new team of presenters. Martin Brundle and Ted Kravitz have both left the BBC to join Sky’s coverage and they are joined by former Formula One World Champion, Damon Hill, Natalie Pinkham, Anthony Davidson, Steve Rider, David Croft, Georgie Thompson and Simon Lazenby.
In the interviews, they talk about their favourite drivers, favourite races and what they’re looking forward to in the upcoming season. I have no doubt that Sky will nail the broadcast of this wonderful sport and with this brilliant team of experts, it’ll surely be epic!

Georgie Thompson has said that she wants to find a boyfriend in 2012. The Formula 1 presenter, who bowed out of the Sky Sports News studio yesterday, insisted that her time is not dominated by her work commitments. "Of course I would like to meet someone," she revealed in an interview with The Sun. "I think if you are a girl who likes her job and spends a lot of time with people from work, people assume you are so ambitious you don't (more)...

Steve Jones is reportedly dating Declan Donnelly's ex-girlfriend Georgie Thompson. The X Factor USA host, who recently stormed off the set of Piers Morgan Tonight, has allegedly met up with the Sky Sports News presenter in New York and London after being introduced by a mutual friend. A source said: "Georgie has always fancied Steve and jumped at the chance to meet him. They got on well and had a laugh. "Like most of Steve's dates, there was only going to be one result. He rarely misses the target." Donnelly is said to be unhappy at his ex's choice of boyfriend because he knows "full well (more)...

Georgie Thompson has confessed that she found her separation from Dec Donnelly "very hard to deal with". The Sky Sports presenter said that the pain of her split with the Red Or Black? host in April had been heightened by the press attention in their personal lives. "Having just picked myself up and dusted myself off with some dignity, my focus now is to move forward in the best way," she told The Mail on Sunday. "Having our break-up played out in public was a very hard thing to deal with. I have got through it with the help of my brilliant group of friends and family and through work." She added: "I think people did think we were a good couple. I hope what they saw was that we were real people. There are some couples who want to live their life in public, but for Dec and me that was never an option.
