- American Jewish leader, attorney and writer who was a longtime executive of the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith.
- He earned his Bachelor's Degree and Law degree from St. John's University in Brooklyn, New York.
- He worked with the Anti-Defamation League in the 1930s. He was a member of their general counsel from 1946 until 2003. He retired from the league in 1979. He hired Abraham H. Foxman in 1965 as assistant to the director of the league's law department and became league director.
- After 1979, he was associated with the New York City law firms of Shea & Gould and Baer Marks & Upham.
- He is survived by his daughter, Janie Forster Berman of New York City and four grandchildren. His son, Stuart Forster, died in 1991.
- He had lived in New Rochelle, New York and died at the Hebrew Home for the Aged in Riverdale, Bronx, New York.
