The Orville‘s villains unarguably live up to the standards of their predecessors from Star Trek, to a significant extent. It has been established that The Orville is a tribute to the Star Trek franchise, as such, it is only normal for its villains to draw inspiration from the original show. From the Klingon to the Borg and Krall, Star Trek has an army of villains, h0wever, The Orville‘s Kaylon and Krill have given them a run for their money. The Krill and Kaylon are the major threats in the Planetary Union but before they began to unleash terror on the...

If you’re one of the many fans waiting to hear about Season 4 of The Orville – the best Star Trek series around that’s not actually called Star Trek – star Adrianne Palicki doesn’t have good news for you right now.
“I mean, there have been talks,” says Palicki, who plays the Orville’s first officer, Kelly Grayson, opposite creator and star Seth MacFarlane’s Captain Ed Mercer. “There have been rumblings about it, but there’s nothing official.”
While Palicki doesn’t have more concrete news about when or if The Orville will follow up its acclaimed third season, she does have some specific ideas about what she’d like to see happen if in fact the title starship does continue its voyages around the galaxy.
“I would like to see Kelly take over as captain,” she says with a laugh. “I mean, she pretty much is anyway. But I don’t know,...

When Leland set out to write the music for “WigLoose,” the drag queen musical version of Footloose featured in Season 15 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, he never imagined its storyline about a city trying to ban drag would actually reflect real life.
During last week’s finale, as anti-drag legislation continues to affect red states, Leland tapped Orville Peck to join him for a rendition of “Built on Drag,” one of the songs featured in “WigLoose.” Together, they recreated “Built on Drag” as an acoustic, powerful track surrounded by all the queens,...

This review of The Orville: New Horizons contains spoilers.
The Orville: New Horizons Season 3 Episode 2
The season 3 premiere of The Orville: New Horizons reinforced why this show picked up in popularity in its second season. It was poignant and character-driven, but not without the trademark Seth MacFarlane humor and sense of adventure. It accomplished so much, as well, introducing new characters, new dynamics, story threads that will undoubtedly be revisited and gave audience members the sense that this new era on Hulu is in fact a shinier “new horizon.”
It’s often the case that when someone is pitching an idea or presenting something to an audience, that they should start with a bang, and grab the attention of said audience. What is also common practice is that one of your weakest ideas should be sandwiched somewhere early on, often in the second spot. The writing team of The Orville...

This week on The Orville, Claire got a blast from her past as the ship boldly went where… yada yada.
The second episode of The Orville: New Horizons — or as I call it, The Orville: What Contractual Loophole Is the Conspicuous Subtitle Exploiting? — revolves around the arrival of Admiral Paul Christie (played by Days of Our Lives‘ James Read), who needs a ride to meet up with a Krill delegation and begin negotiations to allow the Union access to the Neklav Sector beyond Krill space. Ed’s announcement of the admiral’s imminent visit clearly affects Claire, who later — after...
