La Brea Pictures is wrapping up post production on its first feature film, Tii Ricks' slasher homage Rage: Midsummer's Eve. Tii Ricks' new horror movie, which is set in the Finnish Artic Circle, during a time of year when the sun never sets. Kind of like a reverse 30 Days of Night. " 'Rage' is a film honoring all the great horror features I have seen in my childhood: 'Halloween,' 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' and 'Friday The 13th' are all films that I have grown up with and which I secretly watched way before I was supposed to see them. This film is a tribute to all of those films.", said Ricks.

Brooklyn, New York native Tii Ricks traveled to the Finnish countryside to craft her upcoming horror outing “Rage: Midsummer’s Eve”, a film that, despite having a plot synopsis and a teaser trailer, is a little hard to figure out. There’s definitely something incredibly sinister going down in the embedded clip, though it’s really hard to determine the source of everyone’s terror. Whatever it is, the kids are trying their best to escape it, which is why everyone is running through the woods at a mad rapid pace. Regardless, the film looks promising, so I’ll definitely keep a close eye on it. Here’s an excerpt from the official press release: A group of American, English and Finnish friends living and studying in Finland decide to spend their last summer holiday together and to visit the Finnish Arctic Circle to experience the “White Nights” when the...

La Brea Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for Rage: Midsummer's Eve, the upcoming horror movie shot entirely in Finland and in the Finnish Arctic Circle.
Directed by American-Finnish female director, Tii Ricks, the film tells a story of a group of international friends who travel to the Finnish Arctic Circle to celebrate an originally pagan holiday, Midsummer's Eve, during the summer solstice.
"I am a huge fan of the horror genre and my mother was born in Finland. I have never really understood the concept of going to a summer cottage for the summer holidays anywhere – especially in Finland - because to me the Midnight Sun with the night mist over the night fields and the dead silence of the forest combined with isolated villages are not a nice and peaceful place to spend the holidays," says Ricks. "On the contrary, they scare the heck out of me.

"Originally a pagan holiday," she says of the movie's plot, "Midsummer's Eve is a huge thing especially in the Nordic countries.
