Over the weekend, Dave Shelton — an award winning writer, cartoonist, and voice actor, with a varied resume that includes Everybody Loves Raymond, National Lampoon, Tweety And Sylvester and Against Type — and Tami Zorge hosted the world premiere of his pilot Professor Creepy’S Scream Party at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.
The “Garage TV” pilot, which was shot in only one day and edited in one more, is a live action variety show that is billed as a retro mash up of sixties kids shows, horror hosts, and dance shows. Picture the Hilarious House Of Frankenstein meets Vampira meets American Bandstand, with a Vincent Price-esque mad scientist as host. How does that not pique one’s interest?
The event is a testament to how hard work can pay off. The pilot process was described to me as a Living In Oblivion-esque experience, with financiers backing out, the lead actor...

Charlie Sheen is getting ripped by the one guy who still might be crazier than him -- Richard Heene , aka Balloon Boy's dad -- and TMZ has the bizarre music video where Heene morphs into Sheen. Heene teamed up with comic musician Smokey Miles -- a.k.a. Count Smokula -- to film the parody video for a song about Sheen mania ... featuring multiple references to cocaine, goddesses and yes ... the "W" word. Also, Richard's...

Watch out, Jonas Brothers! Radar Online reports that Balloon Boy (a.k.a. Falcon Heene) and his two brothers (Bradford and Ryo) are forming a boy band. Seriously. Wait! It gets better. Their father, home-made helium balloon maker Richard, and mother Mayumi may appear as back-up musicians. We couldn't make this up if we tried.
Musician Smokey Miles, a family friend who penned the brothers' recent Bear Scratcher jingle (we have no idea what that means either), says, "They are good looking kids and talented, too. I'm sure they could be a success."
Miles went on to say the Heene family is a shining beacon of light for all families during these troubling economic times: "The family is doing well just now after everything they went through, and they are actually a good example for other families in these recessionary times." Nothing says family like falsely claiming your son is...

It looks like the Heene family has found a new and exciting way to exploit their kids, and this time it’s a treat for the ears! After soaring to the dizzying heights of fame by not soaring to dizzying heights in a balloon last fall, Falcon Heene is forming a boy band. He and his two brothers have reportedly been practicing in their new Miami home, and it’s rumored that parents Richard and Mayumi will serve as backup musicians. It’ll be like the Partridge Family, but much more desperate. Or the Jackson 5, but the dad is even more of a creep. The family hopes that the success of the band will help them sell their patented “bear scratcher” device. But don’t worry, we’re sure they’re in it for the music, too. “Richard himself plays harmonica, and his wife is a good guitar player too,...

Richard Heene was so committed to getting his own reality show, he even went so far as to come up with his theme music -- because every wacky amateur scientist/handyman needs good theme music. Heene worked with a guy named Smokey Miles (and Meson Music Bmi) to compose theme songs in 2005 for two shows Heene cooked up -- "The Psyience Detective" and "The Contractor." And they are gems! The first, which Richard played bass on,...

The godfather of gore himself, Mr. Herschell Gordon Lewis, will be making a rare appearance in front of the camera in the upcoming horror/comedy 7 Deadly Sins: Inside the Ecomm Cult, and if you want to see it before everyone else, you'd better buy a ticket for Monster-Mania and get your ass to Cherry Hill, NJ this weekend!
7 Deadly Sins: Inside the Ecomm Cult is a mockumentary about a young girl who's brainwashed into joining a cult in Southern California. Lewis stars as the hard-boiled detective hired to track her down. "I like the whole idea of mockumentary," said Lewis in a press release. "With that kind of thing, you want the audience to have the same sense of humor you do."
The film also stars Smokey Miles a.k.a. Count Smokula as Doctor Smoke, Alexia Anastasio as Amy, Mo Whelan as The Infomercial Lady and Kevin Sean Michaels...
