- He got his start as a screenwriter by writing a spec script for an Alien Vs. Predator movie, while working in development at Paramount UK in 1991, then selling the script to 20th Century Fox the year after. After being in development hell for years, although that script was not used, he was later hired by New Line head Mike DeLuca, who was a fan of the earlier piece, to write a spec script for Freddy Vs. Jason when that idea was in development.
