Sean Kelly, one of the earliest and most brazen National Lampoon writers whose lyrics for the influential 1973 Off Broadway revue National Lampoon’s Lemmings helped launch the careers of John Belushi, Christopher Guest and Chevy Chase, died July 11 in New York City of heart and renal failure. He was 81.
His death was announced by wife Patricia Todd to The New York Times.
A New York Drama Desk Award winner for Most Promising Lyricist following the 1973 Off Broadway debut of Lemmings, Kelly, at the time, specialized in song parodies, a skill that would make a considerable contribution to the revue’s notorious parody of Woodstock. The Lemmings satire of the festival featured such soon-to-be-stars as Chase and Guest impersonating, among others, John Denver and Bob Dylan (respectively).
Most famously, Lemmings’ Woodstock musical scenes included Belushi’s spot-on imitation of Joe Cocker, a savage impersonation the comic would take to Saturday Night Live...

As Aaliyah once sang, "Age ain't nothin but a number." Unfortunately, she was 13 and married to R. Kelly and had to get divorced, but not all May-December love stories are so tragic. With so much talk about age differences lately, whether its celebrity pairings or inane court cases, we thought we'd share our favorites.
Dorothy Snarker: Harold and Maude, which if you May youngsters out there haven't watched, you should for the Cat Stevens soundtrack alone. But mostly because Ruth Gordon is everything you've ever wanted to be when you grew up.
Bridget McManus: My vote goes to Tom Hanks and Elizabeth Perkins in Big. Although Hanks' Josh Baskin character is physically in an adult male body for most of the film let's not forget that he's just a 12-year-old boy wooing the 30-something New York businesswoman Susan.

Susanna Lo is taking over the writing and directing of the long-talked-about Manson Girls movie.
Beginning in February 2011, acclaimed filmmaker Susanna Lo (Black & White: A Love Story) is the new director of the weird, once-starring-Lindsay-Lohan, now-starring-Thora Birch movie about the women of the Manson Family aptly entitled The Manson Girls, taking over from Matthew Bright. Bd yesterday reported that one of our faves, Thora Birch, will be cast in the crazy bitch's stead as Nancy Pitman, a wealthy gal from Malibu who was caught smuggling LSD to Manson in jail in 1970. Also known as Brenda McCann and Brindle, she served three years for the James and Lauren Willett murder conspiracy and later joined the Aryan Brotherhood.

Thora Birch has turned a few straight-to-dvd genre flicks the past several years, none of them quite doing her acting talents justice, like Winter of Frozen Dreams, Deadline,...

'Manson Girls', not to be confused with the UK DVD release 'Manson Girl' (Aka: 'Manson, My Name Is Evil'), has reportedly gone through a couple of casting and directorial changes. Susanna Lo is taking over the writing and helming responsibilities from writer Matthew Bright on this project. And Lohan is being replaced by Thora Birch ('The Hole', 'Train', 'Deadline'). She'll be joining pre-cast performers Heather Matarazzo, Nikki Blonsky, Erin Kelly, Jennifer Landon and Michael Monks. 'Manson Girls follows a young girl from a wealthy Malibu family who fell under Manson's spell. She was not one the 'Family' members involved in the clan's infamous murder spree, but Pitman was later imprisoned after she became involved with the Aryan Brotherhood and was convicted of being an accessory (after the fact) to murder.' The shoot will begin next February...

Bloody Disgusting just received word that Susanna Lo is replacing Matthew Bright as the writer/director of Manson Girls, which will now begin shooting in February. As previously reported, Lindsay Lohan is no longer attached. Instead, we've learned that Thora Birch (Train), Heather Matarazzo, Nikki Blonsky, Jennifer Landon, Erin Kelly, and Michael Monks will all star in the pic that follows a young girl from a wealthy Malibu family who fell under Manson's spell. Surreal and repressive, Mädchen in Uniform (1958) is the Technicolor remake of the dramatic — and downright shocking — 1931 German lesbian film of the same name. The story of a young woman who falls deeply in love with her teacher, it’s at once quaint and stirring.
Manuela (Romy Schneider) is the girl in question. It’s 1910, Prussia, and she’s just lost her mother. Her strict aunt brings her to a boarding school/convent to “learn discipline,” and the free-spirited youth immediately finds it a cold, unfriendly place. Run by the tyrannical Senior Superior, it's billed as the place where girls are turned into women who will be “fit to be soldiers’ mothers” – tough and ready for anything.
Discipline and suffering are the rules of the day. The kids are yelled at for the tiniest offense, physically disciplined, and given little love or affection by their cold fraeuleins (teachers). It's a direct commentary on the country's hard,...

In our first annual Top 50 Lesbian and Bi Characters poll, we asked you to vote for your favorite characters from film, television, and internet shows.
You cast your votes, and now we have the results. Before we reveal the winners, let's take a look at some of the trends that emerged.
Almost all of the characters were from films and television shows that made their debut after the year 2000. A few of the exceptions include Kerry Weaver from ER, and the ass-kicking ladies from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
While most of the characters were from Us productions, a fair amount came from international shows, including our top two characters (from the UK show Skins).
Also notable was the fact that some of your favorite characters, the leads from Xena: Warrior Princess (which ran from 1995-2001) and Idgie Threadgood from the film Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), were never officially presented as lesbian or bisexual.

Question:What's Erin Kelly (Loving Annabelle) up to?
— Emily, England
Answer: I contacted Erin with your question (which was one of many about her from multiple readers) and she told me:
Last week I launched my first, very own personal website, erinkellygirl.com. Being that I am the least computer savvy person on the planet, I am actually very proud of this, as I have figured out how to do everything on my own. I'm excited about this site because I am using it as a platform both to keep fans up to date on what I am up to, things I like,...
