His son Nico was Formula One driver for Williams (2006-2009) and Mercedes (2010-2016).- IMDb Mini Biography By: Anonymous - He started his career in karting at a young age. From 1973 he drove in the Formula V series, which he won with 15 victories in 20 races. In 1976 he received a contract with Jörg Obermoser's Formula 2 racing team in Bruchsal. Here he was able to further attract attention as a talented young driver. In 1978 he managed to make the jump to the premier class of Formula 1. However, he was still able to attract attention with mostly inferior vehicles. After the tragic accidental death of the Canadian and Formula 1 world champion Gilles Villeneuve, Rosberg moved to Frank Williams' top team in the fall of 1981.
In the 1982 season, Rosberg impressed with his typically consistent and safe driving style, which brought him numerous Grand Prix victories and podium places. After the end of the season, Keke Rosberg became winner of the Formula 1 World Championship '82. As a Formula 1 driver, he drove in 114 Grand Prix, of which he won five. In 1986 he retired from the Formula 1 circus. However, Rosberg remained loyal to racing as a promoter and manager until he returned as a driver in 1990. From 1992 he competed in the German Touring Car Championship (DTM) for the AMG-Mercedes team and in 1993 he moved to Opel within the series.
As manager, Keke Rosberg placed his Finnish compatriots J. J. Lehto and Mika Häkkinen as drivers in Formula 1. Until March 2002, Rosberg worked as manager of Häkkinen, who became a two-time winner of the Formula 1 World Championship with Mercedes-McLaren. He also became active as the owner of the Rosberg racing team in the Formula 3 Euroseries and Formula BMW. His son Nico has also been a Formula 1 driver since 2006. From 2010 he started for Mercedes alongside Lewis Hamilton. Nico Rosberg won the World Championship in 2016.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Christian_Wolfgang_Barth
