- They were ranked fourth on MTV's "Top 10 Greatest Heavy Metal Bands of All Time".
- The band took its name after a medieval torture device, which was a box with sharp spikes attached to the inside, into which the victim was placed and then the door was closed, driving the spikes into the body.
