Star broadcasters Rylan and Nick Grimshaw are among the first to react to the news that Ken Bruce is leaving his BBC Radio 2 show after 31 years.
Bruce said “the time is right” for him to move from the station, after presenting the mid-morning weekday show for more than three decades.
The 71-year-old, who is leaving in March, joined the corporation in 1977 as a BBC Radio Scotland presenter 45 years ago. His first regular slot on Radio 2 was The Saturday Late Show in 1984. The following year he fronted the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, taking over from Sir Terry Wogan.
Bruce said: “Nothing stays the same forever and I have decided the time is right for me to move on from Radio 2 when I reach the end of my current contract in March. It’s been a tremendously happy time for me: I’ve made many friends and worked with many wonderful colleagues.

Showing some love for her English fans, Jennifer Hudson headed over to London’s very own BBC Radio 1 studios today (March 6).
The “American Idol” alum was in the house to chat with Trevor Nelson about her upcoming third studio album, said to have a positive vibe throughout.
Hudson began, “I feel like the music I love has lost its feel-good factor. What happened to that? Let’s bring it back. I wish I had been born in a Whitney era, an Aretha era, but I’m not. So can we bring that back? I guess what happened is just transition and time. Things change and people change. Each generation has its own flavor and its own style.”
“I thought by my third album there should be a piece of me in it. I felt albums one and two were me just being a vocalist. But I’m an artist now.

Homeland, Strictly Come Dancing, the Olympics Opening Ceremony, Great British Bake Off, Game of Thrones and Call the Midwife will go head-to-head for this year's TV BAFTA Audience Award.
In the run-up to the awards on May 12, Digital Spy writers will be campaigning for their own picks from the shortlist - fans can vote for their own favourites at radiotimes.com/bafta.
You've heard the case for Game of Thrones, Strictly, Homeland and Call the Midwife - and today we present the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony.
This is cheating, isn't it? Not so. Sticking some cameras at a sporting event and claiming that it's great telly should certainly be frowned upon, and if the gold medals Super Saturday were being considered for this award, we wouldn't be arguing for it. The London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony was something altogether different.

Eminem reportedly is not quite happy with collaborative song titled "Forever" which features him, Drake, Lil Wayne and Kanye West. Fellow rapper 50 Cent is the one who broke the news to public.

2009 Mobo Awards which was held on September 30 at the Secc in Glasgow has been wrapped, and those walking home with trophies were revealed. Beyonce Knowles, N-Dubz and Jls were the ones who dominated the event, grabbing two prizes each.
Beyonce won over Akon, Ciara, Drake, Eminem, Jay-z, Kanye West, Keri Hilson, Lady GaGa and Mariah Carey in Best International Act. She got her other award in Best Video category, pushing aside Dizzee Rascal, Alesha Dixon, Chipmunk and Mr. Hudson.
Unfortunately, Beyonce was not present at the ceremony and offered her acceptance speech on a video message. She reportedly was booed by the crowd when apologizing for failing to attend the show.
N-Dubz claimed their double victories from Best Album and Best U.K. Act. Though bagging two gongs, one of their personnel "Dappy" Contostavlos was upset because their collaborator Tinchy Stryder who was nominated for 3 categories went home with empty hands.

Michael Jackson's "Thriller" has been named the Greatest Album Ever. The pop superstar's landmark 1982 LP - which is the world's best-selling album - dominated a poll of MTV viewers, securing almost a third of the total vote.
Speaking about "Thriller" - which was produced by Quincy Jones and features some of Jackson's best known hits, including "Billie Jean," "Beat It" and "The Girl Is Mine" - MTV Base presenter Trevor Nelson said: "I don't think there'll ever be another album like it in the history of music."
"There will never be a marriage of producer and artist, or songwriting and pop sensibility like that again. Due to the way people buy records now, there'll never be an album that sells as many copies."
The list was compiled by music industry experts, artists, and bosses from the network's three UK channels - MTV2, VH1 and MTV Base.

Coldplay and Madonna have been snubbed by MTV in their search for the Greatest Album Ever. Voting to find the top 10 albums since MTV was launched in 1981 will start this week across the network's three UK channels - MTV2, VH1 and MTV Base.
An MTV insider has revealed Coldplay - who recently lost out at the Brit Awards, winning none of the four categories they were nominated in - will not be included on the shortlist, and neither will Madonna, whose first album, was released in 1982.
The shortlist of albums was compiled by industry experts, and MTV2, VH1 and MTV Base will each have their own top 10 list.
Jasmine Dotiwala, head of MTV Base, said discussions about the list became heated. She wrote in a blog: "Myself and MTV Base's Trevor Nelson tried to remain unbiased, but we couldn't help putting our own views in when we really had to!
