Velvet Revolver will hold online auditions in their search for a new lead singer.
Scott Weiland left the band earlier in the month with other members of the group citing "erratic onstage behaviour and personal problems" as reasons for his departure.
Guitarist Slash said the band will seek a new singer through the web.
Slash told Billboard: "The band is actually talking about building a website [and] doing some auditions via that, so that's been something that's developing at this point.
"We're at that point of just listening . . .

Latest: Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash has again quashed reports the band is on the verge of splitting up - although he's hinted frontman Scott Weiland may not be a member for much longer.
Singer Weiland shocked Velvet Revolver fans last month with an onstage announcement the rockers' current tour will be their last.
When drummer Matt Sorum responded with an online post explaining the band is in "turmoil", Weiland launched an astonishing attack on the percussionist, during which he alleged Velvet Revolver cancelled its 2007 Australian tour because the percussionist was admitted to rehab.
Now guitarist Slash has hinted Weiland may leave the five-piece permanently when he joins his former band Stone Temple Pilots for a reunion tour this summer.
Slash says, "There will be a third album. We don't know how or when but the core four guys will continue."
Bassist Duff McKagan and guitarist Dave Kushner round out Velvet Revolver's line-up.

Singer Scott Weiland shocked fans midway through a Velvet Revolver gig on Thursday night by announcing the band's current tour will be its last.
Weiland, who spent 28 days in rehab earlier this year, leading to the cancellation of a number of Velvet Revolver dates, stormed offstage shortly after making his surprise revelation at the Glasgow, Scotland gig.
The rocker told the crowd, "You're watching something special - the last tour by Velvet Revolver."
Following his bombshell, Weiland's bandmates Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Dave Kushner were left looking at each other in a state of confusion.
One fan who was at the concert writes on Velvet Revolver's online forum: "Once (Weiland said Velvet Revolver is to split), Slash, Duff, Matt and Dave all looked at each other. They sang Fall To Pieces, then Scott goes over to the side of the stage and argues with the sound guy. After a couple of songs, he threw his mic down and walked off.
"After a long wait, Duff came out with the band and sang the start of It's So Easy. Scott shows up about halfway through, sang really half-assed then (he was) gone again."
On Friday, drummer Sorum reflected on the band's chaotic gig in a post on Velvet Revolver's website: "Being in a band is a lot like being in a relationship. Sometimes you just don't get along. I guess there has been more turmoil lately, I guess, with the cancellations and all. It has been frustrating, I am not going to lie...
"Unfortunately, some people in this business don't realise how great a life they have... Everybody could see who was unhappy last night."
Weiland's reformed band Stone Temple Pilots are scheduled to play their first show in almost seven years at the Rock On The Range festival in Columbus, Ohio in May.
