Brenda Vanegas (El Salvador, 1982) studied Social Communication at the Mónica Herrera School of Communication, (2006). During her second year of university, at the age of 17, she began working at a small local production company, where Brenda acquired her first experiences in audiovisual production.
In 2006 she traveled to New York to live with her mother, where her world view changed. Brenda lived and worked with Latin migrant women and in 2007 she traveled to Spain to do a Master's Degree in Screenwriting for Film and Television at the prestigious TAI School. (Madrid).
In 2011 Brenda founded her own production company, LA ESTACIÓN, in El Salvador, together with Mario Soundy. They focused on documentary work on migration, women, migrant children, in various countries of Central America, Mexico, Canada and the United States.
In 2014, Brenda won the Pixels Award from the Ministry of Economy of El Salvador, ($25,000) for the production of her first fiction feature film (script and direction) ANTES LA LLUVIA.
In 2016, they both founded ENCANTADA DE LA VIDA, which absorbed LA ESTACIÓN, a production company with a new label with which they aspire to continue telling stories such as "Lucía's letters".
