Steven Spielberg and Will Smith are now in early discussions to work together in remaking the 2003 Korean film "Oldboy" which was helmed by Chan-wook Park. DreamWorks is in the process of securing the remake rights which Universal is going to distribute. The original film's synopsis was of a man's quest for vengance after having been detained for fifteen years in an unknown place for reasons that escape him. Both tender and brutal, this shocking thriller will have viewers talking. The Korean film's story was penned by Garon Tsuchiya based on the comic by Nobuaki Minegishi. Jo-yun Hwang, Chun-hyeong Lim and Park worked the screenplay.
