Professional wrestling and Mma seems to go hand in hand, with them both being competitive athletic fights, despite wrestling generally being scripted. Over the years we have seen some wrestlers transition into Mma and vice versa, with varying degrees of success. Here are 10 WWE wrestlers that were former Mma fighters. 10. Sean O’Haire The former WCW Tag Team Champion competed in 6 Mma bouts between 2004 and 2007, ending with a 4-1-1 record. During this time he also tried his hand at kickboxing, but was unable to win a fight, with his record being 0-4. 9. Jack Gallagher At

Jack Gallagher Released by WWE As #SpeakingOut Movement Accuses Wrestling Stars Of Sexual Misconduct
Wrestling stars from several federations, including the WWE, are being accused of sexual misconduct in online forums. The movement, loosely organized under the hashtag #SpeakingOut, has already led to one wrestler having his contact terminated.
The WWE announced the release of wrestler Jack Gallagher (real name Oliver Claffey) shortly before this week’s Friday Night SmackDown aired on Fox. No reason was given, but Gallagher was the subject of an earlier online post that accused him of sexual assault.
The WWE issued a statement but did not directly address whether Gallagher was let go because of the misconduct allegations:
“Individuals are responsible for their own personal actions. WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, child abuse, and sexual assault. Upon arrest for such misconduct, a WWE talent will be immediately suspended. Upon conviction for such misconduct, a WWE talent will be immediately terminated. WWE’s ability to fine,...

Welcome to this week’s 205 Live review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and this should be Jack Gallagher’s last match in the WWE (possibly anywhere) due to him being fired after numerous allegations of sexual misconduct came to light during the first day or so of #speakingout. Also, The Monkees are cool and don’t ever let anybody tell you they suck! Okay, let’s get to the matches.
Match #1: Oney Lorcan def. Chase Parker The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Oney Lorcan of The Brit-Am Brawlers and Chase Parker of Ever-Rise collided for tag team bragging rights on the purple brand. Parker quickly took the fight to Lorcan, but pain remained the greatest motivator for the crazed cruiserweight. Lorcan rallied back and landed a Blockbuster to secure the win.
My Opinion: 3.3 out of 5 – This was a real smack in the Wojohowitz and I liked it.

Match #1: Ever-Rise def. Leon Ruff & Adrian Alanis The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Ever-Rise have been on a mission to prove they are one of the best true tag teams in WWE, and they used a battle with Leon Ruff & Adrian Alanis to send a message on 205 Live. The two teams traded blows early, but Matt Martel & Chase Parker ascended for the victory with brutally effective teamwork.

If you have a show called “Two Guys, A Girl And A Pizza Place” and you take the two guys and the girl away from the pizza place, how can you have a show called “Two Guys, A Girl And A Pizza Place”?! Who in the hell is stupid enough to remove the two guys and the girl from the pizza place?! 205 Live better have 205 action, or I will piss a brick! I mean it! Match #1: Candice LeRae vs. Mia Yim (Double Count-Out) The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The recent war of words between Mia Yim and Candice LeRae is anything but settled. The action spilled to the outside with both women too fixated on exchanging blows to answer the referee’s count of 10. Tegan Nox, and later Dakota Kai, Raquel González and Shotzi Blackheart were on the scene as well, and the situation devolved into an all-out melee. Match #1: Tyler Breeze def. Tehuti Miles The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Though he had to overcome some ring rust during his first bout in six weeks, Tyler Breeze withstood a tough challenge from WWE Performance Center standout Tehuti Miles. Miles wasn’t shy about claiming he was the superior Superstar in skill and looks, but Prince Pretty settled the debate with a brutal Unprettier.

Match #1: Imperium def. Matt Riddle & Timothy Thatcher – Nxt Tag Team Championship Match The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
As a significantly more experienced team, Imperium controlled much of the action. However, the decisive moment had very little to do with Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel. Matt Riddle’s monkey flip inadvertently sent Barthel flying into Timothy Thatcher, and a fed-up Thatcher walked out on Riddle, who was desperately seeking a tag. The new attitude of Nxt’s resident power couple was on full display with Candice LeRae getting involved in this bout multiple times, including a distraction that allowed husband Johnny Gargano to remove the top turnbuckle. Johnny Wrestling later countered Dominik Dijakovic’s powerbomb attempt, sending The Rare Breed face-first into the exposed steel and making him a sitting duck for Gargano’s slingshot Ddt known as One Final Beat.

Match #1: Dakota Kai & Raquel González def. Tegan Nox & Shotzi Blackheart The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Tegan Nox finally had a hand against her rivals Dakota Kai & Raquel González, but it didn’t matter on this occasion. Kai’s enforcer put Shotzi Blackheart away with an impressive one-armed Powerbomb.
My Opinion: 2.3 out of 5 – There’s not much here that really happened outside of some moves and a finish. Nox did well and every-body else held it together, but this was just a car with no juice in the tank.

Both Kushida and Danny Burch have been in the midst of winning streaks in recent weeks between WWE 205 Live and WWE Nxt; thus, their paths were destined to cross. Match #1: Joaquin Wilde def. Raul Mendoza The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Following Raul Mendoza’s victory against Joaquin Wilde last week on WWE 205 Live—thus giving them each a victory against one another—the highly competitive rivalry was ripe for a rubber match. As soon as the opening bell sounded, Mendoza charged forward and took down Wilde with a dropkick. Match #1: Ariya Daivari def. Raul Mendoza The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After joining forces with Tony Nese for a tag team match against Raul Mendoza and Nxt Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush last week, Ariya Daivari set his sights on Mendoza in singles action. As a WWE 205 Live original, The Persian Lion has a territorial attitude toward the purple brand and wants to teach respect to newcomers like Mendoza. Daivari Dinero started the contest with the advantage, but the speed and in-ring awareness of Mendoza led to a great deal of frustration for Daivari. Match #1: Mike Kanellis def. Tony Nese The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Last week, former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Tony Nese declared he would do anything to win back the title, but he also noted that he might need to make a change since being the “Premier Athlete” was no longer working for him. Match #1: Ilja Dragunov def. Tyson T-Bone The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After Kassius Ohno handed him his first loss in Nxt UK two weeks ago, Ilja Dragunov answered back with a hard-fought victory over the tough-as-nails Tyson T-Bone. After T-Bone missed his target and was sent headfirst into the ring post in the final moments, Dragunov capitalized in a big way with a flying senton off the top rope into the dreaded Tornado Moscow for the win.

After T-Bone missed his target and was sent headfirst into the ring post in the final moments, Dragunov capitalized in a big way with a flying senton off the top rope into the dreaded Tornado Moscow for the win.
My Opinion: 2.6 out of 5 – This was a vicious match that wasn’t quite as interesting as I hoped for, but it was very visceral.

Match #1: Akira Tozawa def. Gentleman Jack Gallagher The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
During the Six-Pack Challenge to determine who would face WWE Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak at SummerSlam, Gentleman Jack Gallagher took Akira Tozawa out of contention following a wicked headbutt. Although Gallagher didn’t win the match, The Brian Kendrick felt Tozawa would have faced Gulak if not for the British Superstar. Gallagher landed the first big blow of the fight when he used his legs as leverage and launched The Stamina Monster into the ring post and sent him tumbling to the floor. Stunned from the fall,...

In a WrestleMania rematch, Seth Rollins once again challenges Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.
It’s August and it’s WWE and that means it’s time for WWE SummerSlam 2019. Since 1988, SummerSlam has been something of a secondary WrestleMania and is arguably their second biggest show of the year. It’s always had that feel of being a big deal, yet more experimental in the sense that the marquee matches are a bit weirder and a little less focused on dream match star power. Stuff like ending the show with a wedding, Heath Slater main-eventing, or that time when Brock Lesnar busted up Randy Orton’s skull within minutes and they just ended the show.
This time around we get a random Goldberg match out of nowhere, so it’s nice to see some things remain constant.

Match #1: Akira Tozawa def. Samir Singh The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Last week on WWE 205 Live, The Brian Kendrick claimed victory against Sunil Singh, but Samir jumped in the ring immediately after the bell, and The Singh Brothers attacked The Man with a Plan. Rushing to the aid of his friend and mentor was Akira Tozawa, who helped chase off the Bollywood brothers. Tonight, Tozawa went one-on-one with Samir Singh as Kendrick and Sunil watched from ringside. As the match began, the ever-confident Samir struck first, driving Tozawa into the corner before taunting the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion and finding himself on the defensive. Match #1: The Brian Kendrick def. Sunil Singh The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Earlier in the evening, The Singh Brothers mockingly presented The Brian Kendrick with a Bollywood Lifetime Achievement Award for his illustrious career. The Man With a Plan didn’t take kindly to The Singhs’ gesture and challenged either of them to a match. Sunil Singh answered the call, and following the opening bell, the Bollywood star tried to lighten the mood by dancing in front of Kendrick. The former Cruiserweight Champion wasn’t in the mood for Singh’s antics and unloaded on his opponent.

Welcome to this week’s review of 205 Live, right here on Nerdly. Match #1: Gentleman Jack Gallagher def. Mike Kanellis The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Last week on WWE 205 Live, Mike Kanellis confronted Gentleman Jack Gallagher and taunted the British Superstar about his loss to Chad Gable the previous week. Gallagher wanted to let his action speak for him, and a challenge was issued. Despite WWE 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick’s attention being elsewhere, the match was made for tonight. Match #1: Mark Coffey & Wolfgang def. Carlos Romo & A-Kid The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Gallus took another huge step on their continued quest for dominance, as Mark Coffey’s hard kick set up Wolfgang’s devastating powerslam to give the duo a decisive win over Carlos Romo & A-Kid.
My Opinion: 2.5 out of 5 - This was fun for what it was. The action was just fine for the time given and that isn’t a bad thing at all.

Welcome to this review of 205 Live, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have…some-thing. Actually, this might be okay. The cruiserweights usually deliver a good show, but who knows if that’s going to happen with Drake Maverick chasing after the 24/7 Title like a secretary pursuing a pigeon in their boss’s office during work hours. Okay, I already know. Drake looks like an idiot the whole time. In any case, there’s still some good wrestling on here, so this will be a good review…I think.

Match #1: Humberto Carrillo & Gentleman Jack Gallagher def. The Singh Brothers The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Originally scheduled to face Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik, The Singh Brothers made their way to the ring to share their delight that Lars Sullivan attacked The Lucha House Party at WWE Money in the Bank and on Raw. Looking to steal a victory, the brothers turned to the official and wanted a 10-count for a forfeit. However, WWE 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick then informed The Singhs that they would face the duo of Gentleman Jack Gallagher and Humberto Carrillo. Initially upset at their new task, The Singh Brothers quickly accepted the challenge and the action was underway.

Match #1: Humberto Carrillo def. Gentleman Jack Gallagher via disqualification The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
In a battle with The Lucha House Party two weeks ago on WWE 205 Live, Humberto Carrillo had victory in sight and prepared to execute a high-flying maneuver, drawing the ire of his partner, Drew Gulak. As a result, Kalisto capitalized and pinned Carrillo. After the loss, Gulak asked WWE 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick to make a match between the Mexican Superstar and Gentleman Jack Gallagher so Carrillo can learn about the effectiveness of ground-based offense. Before the scheduled contest between Lince Dorado and Gentleman Jack Gallagher got under way, Dorado, Kalisto and Gran Metalik wanted to take the opportunity to finish their duet from Raw that ended with Elias striking Kalisto in the back with his guitar. However, as Gran Metalik prepared to croon the WWE Universe, Gallagher and his ally Drew Gulak made their way to the ring. The duo was all business and had little time for The Lucha House Party’s antics. Rush attacked his opponent as soon as he entered the ring, and when the opening bell rang, Rush forced Dar to chase him,...
Match #1: Lio Rush def. Noam Dar The following is courtesy of WWE.com:
After besting Tjp in a rubber match earlier this month, The Scottish Supernova rolled into his bout against Lio Rush determined to continue his winning ways. Dar recently caught the attention of Lio Rush, who is fresh off a pair of major victories against former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Akira Tozawa. Originally scheduled to take on Dar last week, Rush claimed that his new commitments on Raw with Bobby Lashley kept him from the ring. However, WWE 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick made certain that The Man of the Hour would face Dar tonight. Welcome to this edition of the WWE Week In Review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have an odd week to cover, one that disappointed more than it should have, but still had its successes. I also want to thank Phil for filling in for me on Monday’s Raw. My absence is not something that will happen often, so if you hate the way I write then you’re probably going to be miserable for a long while. I hope that sentence didn’t come across as negative, but I can’t imagine that every person that reads my writing thinks I’m great. Also, we are going to add a few more categories to the review, including “Best Show”. Any-way, The Prince of tides was a good movie and it’s time to start our review of this week in the WWE.

Welcome to the 205 Live review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have lots of cruiserweight action to get to before Summerslam arrives this Sunday. I apologize for this coming a bit late, but a hectic schedule prevented me from writing anything the past few days. Everything is back to normal and should stay that way now. Wait a minute… it’s The Yetaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy! That’s a WCW joke. WCW did the cruiserweight division first and best, so that reference has some merit… no, it doesn’t.
Match #1: Lio Rush def. Akira Tozawa The following is courtesy of WWE.com:
In their first match, Lio Rush narrowly escaped with a victory against former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Akira Tozawa. Despite the loss, The Stamina Monster wanted a second opportunity to silence The Man of the Hour. After reluctance from Rush, WWE 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick made the match.

Welcome to this week’s 205 Live review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have lots to cover (we have nothing to cover), so let’s just jump right in (go read some-thing else).
Match #1: Kalisto def. Tony Nese The following is courtesy of WWE.com:
After their last meeting ended in a brawl that involved Buddy Murphy and the other members of The Lucha House Party, Kalisto and Tony Nese decided to battle without their allies at ringside. Riding high following a tag team victory last week, Kalisto was certainly poised to keep that focus and silence The Premier Athlete once and for all. Locking up, Nese immediately used his power advantage by tossing Kalisto to the mat with ease and shoving away an offensive flurry. Despite using his speed to try and outwit The Premier Athlete, Kalisto was unable to counter the sheer strength of his opponent.

Match #1: Akira Tozawa def. Gentleman Jack Gallagher The following is courtesy of WWE.com:
Following his narrow defeat to Lio Rush last week on WWE 205 Live, former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Akira Tozawa looked to get back on the winning track against Gentleman Jack Gallagher. The British Superstar was looking to take a page out of Drew Gulak’s playbook and prove himself worthy of a WWE Cruiserweight Championship opportunity. As the match got underway with WWE 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick joining the commentary team, Gallagher and Tozawa locked up, and their styles immediately clashed. The brutal and effective technical abilities of Gallagher were on display just as Tozawa used his quick and hard-hitting offense to counter his opponent. Gaining an advantage,...

Here is the WWE 205 Live review for Tuesday June 26th 2018:
Match #1: Akira Tozawa beat Tony Nese
The whole idea here was that two great wrestlers with egos to match tried to show-up each other. Nese was in power for most of the match, with a torture rack as an early high-light from the former Tna Wrestling X-Divison competitor. It’s remarkable to see how well Nese was booked and promoted by Gabe Saplonsky in Evolve, yet in Vince McMahon’s WWE, Nese may as well be a shallow breath. Tozawa has been great since arriving in the WWE, but has been allowed to be as badly promoted as Tajiri or Funaki were. How can a guy who pulls off a Running Rana or Shining Wizard in a span of just a few minutes, all while appearing as aggressive and confident as Tozawa does, not get more of a push into the main event?...
