Love Island won't be Love Island without original love god Lee Sharpe and accidental comedian Paul Danan... were our first thoughts as the return of the decade-old dating show was announced.
But we were wrong. So very wrong.
Love Island 2015: Did Max and Jess deserve to win?
For six solid weeks, we were hooked on the tears and drama as romantic relationships formed and drastically unravelled. We cringed (and sniggered) at the unashamed sexual antics, the accompanying sound effects and dodgy post-coital lines - "my vagina feels like it's just been hit by a train" - which often took place unapologetically in the communal bedroom.
How we were entertained as desperate contestants attempted to couple up with anybody available just to stay on the show. What car crash television gold we were delivered when producers decided to bring in a contestant's spurned and bitter ex.
We saw grown men...

Original Love Islander Calum Best is back on tonight's episode (June 29), ten years after taking part in the first celebrity edition of the show.
Turning up at the villa in the evening unannounced, he shouts out to the unsuspecting contestants: "Love Island... What's up!"
The 34-year-old reality TV star reveals he's there to take the boys on a lads' night out in Magaluf, much to the dismay of the girls.
Jess Hayes can't quite contain her glee as she says: "We're in the villa, going about our own business, and who rocks up? Callum f**king Best."
Calum addresses the excited islanders: "So, I was lucky enough ten years ago to take part in the original Love Island, and I ended up winning it, so it was a great experience, great memories.
"Boys... You and me are going for a night out in Magaluf. Let's go!"
The guys can't believe their ears,...

Fancy watching some poor punter getting a back, sack and crack from Rustie Lee? Want a waxing from Helen Flanagan? Is Arg from Towie delivering pedicures what you've been waiting for all these years? Well, wait no more people. Celebrity Super Spa has arrived.
I've already had the joy of watching episode one of Super Spa. I've seen the awkward and cringeworthy hosts. I've seen Helen Flanagan prancing around without any trousers on. I've seen Rustie Lee cackling. 867 times.
And I'll probably watch it all over again tonight (September 13) when it airs on Channel 5. Firstly, because I'm a glutton for terrible television. Secondly, because I'm fairly convinced it may be the most desperate celebrity reality show ever concieved. Even by Channel 5's late night standards, this is awful. It makes The Bachelor look like The Sopranos.
So where does the show fit in the history of degrading and embarrassing celebrity reality shows?...

Well, here we go again. Silly season is almost upon us. The new television deal struck by the Premier League with BskyB and British Telecom is worth a barely believable £3.018 Billion over the next three seasons. An incredible 70% increase on the current deal.
Added into the mix, Manuel Pellegrini and Jose Mourinho are newly installed head coaches at perennial heavy spenders – Man City and Chelsea respectively. Both bosses will want to put a personal stamp on their respective squads but perhaps the most intriguing events will unfold at Old Trafford where the post Sir Alex Ferguson era begins.
Much has been speculated regarding who the current Premier League champions are going to sign, with a plethora of midfielders and a select few defenders linked in recent months. Since the announcement of David Moyes, it has been widely assumed that Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines would follow suit from the Toffees.

A number of Dancing On Ice competitiors have sustained injuries, whilst rehearsing for this month’s launch show.
Paul McCartney’s ex wife Heather Mills has snapped one rib, fractured another, torn muscles in her shoulder and injured her pelvis.
Speaking at the show’s press launch today she said:
“There’s not much else left to break. Until I puncture a lung I’m going to carry on.
“The only bonus to it is that I’ve been injured so much in my life that I’m good at healing,” she said.
Jeremy Sheffield tore his hamstring, he said: “I couldn’t train for two and a half weeks and for a while we were worried I wouldn’t be able to do the show.”
Former Emmerdale actress Hayley Tamaddon has sustained a rib injury, which saw all the muscles attached to her ribs detaching from her rib cage.

Five's revival of 1970s sports competition show Superstars made a fairly decent start in the ratings on Friday. The comeback features Steve Redgrave, Roger Black, Mike Catt and Kelly Holmes as team captains leading stars such as Lee Sharpe, Iwan Thomas and Mark Foster. Superstars drew 1.3m (6.2%) between 8pm and 9pm, on a par with the channel's average performance in the slot, and an improvement of 100,000 on a Jack The Ripper documentary at the same time last week. The figure put Five ahead of Channel 4, where travel show A Place In The Sun: Home Or Away interested only 1.1m (5.2%). Big Brother coverage, including the surprise eviction of Mario Marconi, was the channel's strongest draw on Friday. The first hour, from 9pm, was seen (more)...
