Laufey enraptured nearly 18,000 people during a headlining performance with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in August. The musician took the stage at the Hollywood Bowl and delivered more than two dozen songs, 11 on her own and 15 with the Philharmonic. All the while, the cameras were rolling. On Dec. 6, the concert film Laufey’s A Night at the Symphony: Hollywood Bowl will be released in select theaters and IMAX.

Laufey will hit the big screen in December, as a concert movie of her recent performance with the LA Phil at the Hollywood Bowl is headed for a limited engagement in theaters.
“Laufey’s A Night at the Symphony: Hollywood Bowl” will reach cinemas and Imax screens beginning on Dec. 6, it was announced Wednesday by Trafalgar Releasing. Advance tickets go on sale Oct. 30 here.
The film is directed by Sam Wrench, whose previous credit happens to be the most commercially successful concert film of all time: “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour.” That seems appropriate, as Laufey has named Swift as among her heroines, even though she sings a more traditional, deeply jazz- and standards-inflected style of music.
A teaser clip was released Wednesday that gives a 50-second taste of Laufey performing “From the Start,” complete with an overhead shot of the sold-out Hollywood Bowl chanting along with the “blah blah...

Season 26 of The Voice continued shaping up to be a goodun on Monday, the fifth night of Blind Auditions. Riley Keough was the star of the show at the Chanel fashion show during Paris Fashion Week!
The 35-year-old actress performed a cover of Prince‘s song “When Doves Cry” while hanging from a swing inside a giant birdcage during the show on Tuesday (October 1) in Paris, France.
Riley, who is the granddaughter of the late Elvis Presley, also sings in her Prime Video series Daisy Jones and the Six.
“It was something that was meant to be joyful and fun. I felt inspired by this sort of, like, French nonchalance,” Riley told Elle. “I’m not, like, an incredibly good trained singer, but I think that if I get the opportunity [to sing], I’ll take it. It’s not a career thing at this stage of my life.”

Recently, Norse mythology has gained newfound popularity as it is being translated in almost every media venture, right from the silver screen to game series and numerous small screen adaptations. Finally, with Netflix’s Twilight of the Gods, directed by Zack Snyder, an animated retelling of the Nordic legend has found its way to the screen. An-depth, vivid spectacle of the nine realms, featuring stories of gods, dwarves, and giants—which are enchanting enough thanks to the fluid, vibrant animation that you can ignore the gratuitous usage of sex and violence in almost every one of the eight episodes of the first season. Despite having a promising start, the final episode turns out to be just a big mess put together and could have fared better with a linear narrative style. With that being said, we have to admit that except the Norse saga of the God of War game series,...

Whatever counts as Sara Bareilles’ day job right now, it’s not regualrly releasing albums and touring. Her last studio album (2019’s “Amidst the Chaos”) and tour are both five years in the rear-view mirror at this point. That might seem laggardly for anyone else who started out with a career like hers, Bareilles has managed to seem like the busiest woman in — or flitting in and out of — pop. As her recording career reaches the two-decade mark this year, almost all of her standard album releases came in the first half of those years, with the last 10 years finding her triumphing on Broadway as a composer (“Waitress”) and star, and successfully moving into TV as a creator (“Little Voice”) and star.

God of War has been one of the stronger first-party franchises under the PlayStation Studios banner, and the fans are eager to see where the developers take Kratos next. In every new project, the developers introduce a new weapon but some are suggesting one should be put to rest.
The Leviathan Axe was used by Laufey, better known as Faye or the Guardian, and gifted to Kratos after her passing. The weapon quickly became a fan-favorite but the heirloom may not fit in the loadout of future projects beyond the Norse Saga.

Laufey has always felt "undefined." Whether it was her unique, modern jazz sound or her identity as a Chinese Icelandic artist, the 24-year-old singer-songwriter and producer tells Popsugar she "always felt like an anomaly and a bit of an outsider in my communities."
"Being a bit different became my status quo."
The artist, who recently took home her first Grammy for best traditional pop vocal album, has taken the music world - and TikTok - by storm. Since going viral on the platform in early 2022, she's released two albums, the second of which earned her the accolade. "Being a bit different became my status quo. Billy Joel performed at the Grammy Awards for the first time in 22 years, closing Sunday night’s (February 4th) ceremony by playing “Turn the Lights Back On,” his first new music in nearly two decades. He also performed one of his classic hits, “You May Be Right.”
Joel premiered “Turn the Lights Back On” in the days ahead of the Grammys. Co-written by Freddy Wexler, Arthur Bacon, and Wayne Hector, the song is a piano ballad that conveys Joel’s signature style, with a few modern touches.
