Many an eyebrow would’ve been raised at Sol Campbell’s recent announcement that he intends to stand for election as the next mayor of London. Far be it for anyone to pour scorn on the former defender’s political aspirations, but it does lead nicely into the topic of what footballers do after hanging up their boots. With decades of free time to fill up, many take that logical, well-worn path into TV media. Some of those braver ex-pros may fancy their chances at managing a club. For others, it’s instead a time to perfect their golf swings.
Of course the football landscape has changed so dramatically over the years that many top level footballers may never need to work another day in their life. This wasn’t always the case. In bygone years footballers would have to supplement their football earnings with a second job,...

So the new Terminator movie has an official title. And it’s… interesting. Hey, listen: Book, cover, don’t judge, I get it. Maybe this time next year we’ll all be rocking Genisys T-shirts. Maybe we’ll just start spelling “genesis” as “genisys,” sort of like how you can spell it “judgment” or “judgement.” Inglourious Basterds is great, and that has two misspellings!
Still, let’s pretend for argument’s sake that Terminator: Genisys looks like the title of the fanfic spin-off you wrote back in second grade where Terminator meets Scarface and they both fight Darth Vader to save Princess Toadstool.

This year marks the 45th anniversary of the debut album of the prog-rock/classic rock band Genesis, so I thought it might be a good time to revisit their catalog and select their best tracks. Genesis are my second favourite band of all time, just behind Pink Floyd, and despite their tremendous success, I still feel that overall, they haven’t been given much respect in the music community.
Maybe it’s because some people claim drummer-turned-lead-singer Phil Collins “sold them out” in the ’80s by penning a bunch of poppy, 3-minute tunes to get radio airplay, but I still feel the band managed to keep their integrity. As Collins once noted, the band always wrote short, three or four minute songs; they just weren’t very popular, so he gathered the band must have gotten better at writing them over the years.
Last year, I found a list...

Possession(s), a new Australian short, featured one of the most notable launches in recent memory. To coincide with the film’s release a famous Peter Booth artwork, Painting (Man With Bandaged Head), was sold off in The Deutscher and Hackett Important Fine Art Auction.
The tie-in between the film and the auction comes in the shape of actor Laurence Fuller who used the painting, which he owned, as inspiration for the dark, brooding short. His character Frank, upon seeing the Peter Booth work, becomes embroiled with a sense of obsession; he simply has to own the piece and will do anything to make it so. However, it soon becomes clear that Frank is not the only one consumed by the desire to possess.
Laurence Fuller shines in the lead role and it is easy to see why he is a much sought after young actor. Having attended the Method...
