Breaking Bad and The Boys star Giancarlo Esposito recently revealed he's joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a mystery role. A few hours ago, a rumour cropped up claiming he'll star in a Disney+ TV series and the actor himself has now confirmed that is indeed the case.
"The MCU has knocked on my door and it's a role you won’t predict," Esposito told fans during a recent convention appearance. "It will be teased and there will be a series afterwards."
This appears to debunk theories he'll voice Norman Osborn in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man as there's nowhere for that villain to be teased before the animated series launches on the streamer either this year or next.
Interestingly, the fan who shared these updates adds that when someone mentioned to Esposito that he'd make an "excellent" Doctor Doom in The Fantastic Four, he mentioned "talking it into existence and making yourself believe in it.

Back in 2008, a music video landed on YouTube — then still largely in its infancy and mostly dominated by amateur video footage — and caused a bit of a stir, amassing a cult following and 1 million views. More than 15 years on, the video has morphed — extremely slowly — into a full-length feature film.
Chris Dane Owens’ upbeat love song “Shine on Me” was already a catchy slice of rock with some heavy ’80s inspirations. But it was the epic accompanying video — which he made for $70,000, no small sum in today’s music video world — that proved to be the real hit, largely for squeezing into its four minutes practically every clichéd trope and inspiration from popular swords-and-sorcery fantasy entertainment. “The Princess Bride” features prominently, but then there are elements of “Xena,” “The Lord of the Rings,” “The Chronicles of Narnia,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Dungeons and Dragons” and many, many more.

A new trailer has just been released for the upcoming game Marvel Rivals from the developer NetEase Games, and it looks like it will be a mix of popular characters from the Marvel universe as they battle other characters in an Overwatch-style 6v6 battle.
Throughout the trailer, we can see all kinds of interesting gameplay mechanics, character abilities, and even story content that will likely continue to grow throughout the years that the game is released, but it already looks like a major start to something special.
Thanks to the trailer, we know that there isn’t an official release date set, but there is a closed alpha coming in May.

Marvel Studios is set to introduce the X-Men/Mutants into the MCU earlier than expected. They were even hinted at in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and the Ms. Marvel Disney+ series in 2022.
Now, it is reported that after leaving the Dceu and the Witcher franchise, Henry Cavill has likely reached an agreement to portray one of two X-Men characters in the MCU. One possibility is Wolverine—the role Hugh Jackman played.

Looks like after the Dceu, his involvement in the MCU is highly probable and fans can expect him to portray a X-Men character.

Unfortunately, Marvel/Disney has just lost a prominent player in the MCU as Jonathan Majors was found guilty on two misdemeanor charges in regards to his criminal case for his ex-girlfriend. I won’t speak about the case itself, but the key thing is that Marvel’s Big Bad may no longer be a part of the MCU. There’s been rumors that Marvel will simply replace Kang with a different actor. There’s also some speculation that Marvel may replace Kang with a new big bad, with Dr. Doom being the name that has mainly popped up. None of this has been confirmed yet.

It was a really disappointing time when Henry Cavill announced that he was finally hanging up the Superman suit for good. His exit from the Dceu was mourned by many fans, as well as his departure from The Witcher series, but it seems a new door of opportunity awaits the actor.

Recently, rumors claim that Cavill might be running for the role of Captain Britain, a part that the actor once profusely expressed interest in. This is not a new trend in the superhero realm where actors jump to a rival franchise. Indeed, fans are very excited to see the Enola Holmes star make his MCU debut.

Following the guilty verdict in his assault trial on Monday, Jonathan Majors has been fired by Marvel Studios. And on social media, fans have a lot of thoughts about it.
It’s not only a spectacular career imposion for an actor who less than a year ago seemed headed for permanent stardom. It’s also a massive headache for Marvel and the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
And that’s on top of the fact that Majors, who continues to deny any wrongdoing, was found guilty of assault and harrassment against his ex-girlfriend. He’ll be sentenced in February and has signalled plans to appeal.
About that latter point, Screenrant writer Alisha Grauso called the whole thing “a damn shame.”
I'm not sure I've seen a more promising talent tank their career harder and faster than Jonathan Majors. What a damn shame. For him, for the people who are working with him,...

Director Destin Daniel Cretton is no longer expected to direct Marvel’s upcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty project, creating even more uncertainty for the film’s future in light of star Jonathan Majors’ ongoing criminal domestic violence case.

For the first three phases, the Marvel Cinematic Universe seemed to be bulletproof. Even when a wrench was thrown into the machine, and Marvel Studios had to recast for someone like Edward Norton or replace a director like Edgar Wright, Kevin Feige’s ultimate vision would keep the train from derailing. The studio’s bubble is currently expanding to the point that many feel it will burst from the tension. One of the biggest hurdles going forward is how the studio plans to handle actor Jonathan Majors in his role as Kang the Conqueror. Majors’ ongoing controversy and a lingering trial, which will either convict or release the actor of domestic abuse charges, is casting an unforeseen shadow on the future of the multiverse era.

The future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe could face more than world-ending villains as the once-money-printing superhero arena struggles to recover from a pandemic, industry-wide strikes, and audience fatigue. In September, Marvel creatives gathered for an annual retreat, including Marvel studio chief Kevin Feige. Traditionally, cocksure enthusiasm fuels these brainstorming sessions, with creatives riding high off the studio’s latest box-office-breaking success story. However, several discouraging factors continue to haunt the MCU since 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, a finale that many see as the end of an era for the cinematic superhero boom.

Marvel has allegedly contemplated replacing Jonathan Majors’ Kang character with a new villain, pivoting to the comics baddie Dr. Doom, according to a new report.
The detail, which was reportedly floated at Marvel’s annual retreat in Palm Springs back in September amid Majors’ ongoing legal woes, is just one among a larger investigation by Variety that alleges other recent challenges and disarray at Marvel Studios despite the studio’s history of box office dominance.
Representatives for Marvel and Disney did not immediately respond to IndieWire’s request for comment.
In the case of Majors, Variety’s report says that recasting Majors is an option. The actor’s bid to have his case dismissed was rejected, meaning he will stand trial later in November. Complicating the issue of whether to recast the character or replace Kang as the villain is the finale of the second season of “Loki” that airs on Nov.

This past September, a group of Marvel creatives, including studio chief Kevin Feige, assembled in Palm Springs for the studio’s annual retreat. Most years, the vibe would have been confident — even cocky — given how the premier superhero brand, owned by Disney since 2009, has remade the entertainment business in its image.
But this occasion was angst-ridden — everyone at Marvel was reeling from a series of disappointments on-screen, a legal scandal involving one of its biggest stars and questions about the viability of the studio’s ambitious strategy to extend the brand beyond movies into streaming. The most pressing issue to be discussed at the retreat was what to do about Jonathan Majors, the actor who had been poised to carry the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but instead is headed to a high-profile trial in New York later this month on domestic violence charges. The existence and success of 2018’s Venom movie is rather fascinating because of how far the movie goes out of its way to keep its distance from Spider-Man. At no point is the wallcrawler brought up and they don’t even hint at the idea of a crossover until the post-credits of the sequel. Elsewhere, Venom is constantly attached to Spider-Man, whether it’s in terms of origin, identity, or simply as a Marvel Comics property. Venom’s main hosts have included a disgraced reporter who hated Spider-Man, a B-list Spider-Man villain with a new coat of paint, and a former school bully who idolized Spider-Man and was unknowingly one of his best friends.
Similarly, Venom has never been able to stand on his own in video games. At most, he gets top billing in a Spider-Man team-up game. Even now, we’re bringing up Venom because he is a...

In Captain Marvel (2019), the former Kree AI hive-mind ruler, Supreme Intelligence, might have poisoned the titular character’s mind initially by falsifying against the shapeshifting alien race of Skrulls. But she was totally on point about the dangerous potential of the alien race, which the ongoing Disney+ series Secret Invasion has already showcased and will expand upon as well. Disenchanted by the failure of Nick Fury and former Skrull leader Talos to provide the refugee Skrulls with a planet of their own, rebel Skrulls chose the extremist Gravik as their leader. Gravik’s hardliner mindset has been showcased through the Moscow bombing and his willingness to eradicate humanity and make Earth the new home for Skrulls.

20 years ago, Peyton Reed developed a 1960s-set Fantastic Four film at Fox that never quite came together, but now, with Reed’s third MCU movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, on the verge of release, he’s finally able to close the book on “The Four.” Reed is now tied with Jon Watts and James Gunn for directing the second-most number of MCU films behind the Russo Brothers’ four titles, and Quantumania really allowed the filmmaker to incorporate some of the elements he loved from his days of reading Fantastic Four comics as a kid.
“My first memory of reading about the Microverse in the comics, which became the Quantum Realm, was a Fantastic Four story where Dr. Doom shrunk the Four down into the Microverse,” Reed tells The Hollywood Reporter. “So I really took that passion and transferred it into this thing. Marvel's "First Family" has had a rocky road to the big screen. Although the characters of Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm have delighted Marvel comic book fans for generations, the "Fantastic Four" has never received the cinematic adaptation that they deserve. Unfortunately, these great characters have never been properly utilized. The "Fantastic Four" comics show what it's like to balance superhero responsibilities with familial duties.
Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and the Thing were brought to life in 1994's "The Fantastic Four," a low-budget film that never received a theatrical release. It wasn't until 2005 that they made it to the big screen when Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, and Michael Chiklis were cast in Tim Story's "Fantastic Four." This post contains light spoilers for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Loki season one.
After much speculation, we finally know the name of the next two Avengers movies! Scheduled for release in 2025, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars will cap off Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which begins with Fantastic Four in 2024. We’ve known for some time that Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors, will be the prime villain of the next MCU arc, now titled the Multiverse Saga.
But Secret Wars is something of a surprise, in part because it could refer to four very different storylines. It’s pretty unlikely that the movie will integrate parts of Secret War from 2004 – 2005, a black-ops story involving Nick Fury and Shield. But the other three are all real candidates for adaptation, so let’s take a look at the storylines and what they offer.
