Possible spoilers for "The Boys" follow.
We now have a new trailer for season 4 of bloody superhero satire "The Boys," and it looks like a full-blown supe-pocalypse is boiling. After the end of "The Boys" season 3, when Homelander (Antony Starr) killed a protestor in front of a crowd and got only cheers, he's no longer content with being a mere celebrity. No, he's reshaping the Seven into "wrathful gods." He's also Congresswoman Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit), a head-popping supe and Vice Presidential candidate, in his pocket.
Fans of "The Boys" comics (by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson) might see where this is all going. In "The Boys" volume 11 (issues #60-65), "Over the Hill with the Swords of a Thousand Men," Homelander launches a coup against the U.S. government and the Boys go to war to overthrow him. Without spoiling all the twists in between, issue #65 concludes with team leader Billy...

The official trailer for "The Boys" season 4 just dropped, and it looks like some of the antiheroes in Prime Video's hit series are having a bit of an identity crisis. "Violence isn't brave," Jack Quaid's Hughie says at one point, noting that the titular kill squad should probably stop killing everyone if they actually want to save the world. Of course, in typical "The Boys" fashion, that nice sentiment is surrounded on all sides by violence: rooms full of dead bodies, a leg getting sawed off, and a guy going splat against a building, among other (gross) things.
That last kill will surely be of interest to fans of the series, as it's committed by Butcher's own stepson, Ryan (Cameron Crovetti), who's now under the tutelage of his biological dad, weirdo supervillain Homelander (Antony Starr). After he seemingly explodes a guy against a building, Ryan is rewarded with...

The Boys is one of the most popular superhero series in the world at this moment. After three successful seasons and a spin-off series, the fourth season of The Boys is coming back later this year, with the premiere scheduled for June 13, 2024. We have received a preview trailer and several posters, and today, a new proper trailer was released in preparation for the premiere.

If you thought The Boys supes were violent before, you’re in for a bloody shocking Season 4.

After a two-year break between seasons, Prime Video’s finally set a June 13, 2024 premiere date for season four of The Boys. The twisted superhero series will kick off with the release of the first three episodes, followed by new episodes of the eight-episode season on Thursdays.
The season finale is set for July 18th.
“In Season Four, the world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power,” reads Prime Video’s synopsis. “Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son and his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.”

Starlight actress Erin Moriarty and Kimiko star Karen Fukuhara just teased another inevitable crossover between Gen V and The Boys.
While the recent Gen V spinoff series was mostly telling its own story, it did manage to give audiences some fun crossovers with the flagship show. This included scenes with Victoria Neuman, Ashley Barrett, Grace Mallory, and more.
Fans were even treated to a brief appearance from both Antony Starr’s Homelander and Karl Urban’s Butcher in the Season 1 finale—the latter of whose scene directly “sets up The Boys Season 4.”

Prime Video’s first teaser trailer for The Boys season four shows a world on the verge of war. “All democracies fail because people are f****** stupid,” says a voice-over, adding, “But if you crush the masses, who builds your monuments?”
The solution is to allow people to tear the world apart themselves, and then the supes can swoop in and save it.
The trailer teases some wild action scenes (as expected from this twisted series) and ends with the introduction of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character.
Season four, premiering in 2024, stars Antony Starr as Homelander, Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, and Jack Quaid as Hughie. Erin Moriarty is Starlight, Chace Crawford is The Deep, Jessie T. Usher is A-Train, Laz Alonso is Mother’s Milk, Tomer Capon is Frenchie, and Karen Fukuhara plays Kimiko. Colby Minifie is Ashley Barrett, Claudia Doumit plays Victoria Neuman, and Cameron Crovetti is Ryan.

This post contains spoilers for "Gen V" episode 4 — "The Whole Truth."
"The Boys" is, with some exceptions, a show for the boys. That's not to say that the girls can't also enjoy its wily charms, but the Prime Video series has made a cinematic universe on its ability to satirize fragile male egos the world over, and its obsession with that subject often forces its female characters to the sidelines. Sure, heroes like Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) and Starlight (Erin Moriarty) get plenty of chances to play with — and against — the boys, and their arcs are tied exclusively to their own emotional worlds. But even if girls do get it done, they're not given nearly the same attention as Homelander's (Antony Starr) daddy issues, or Hughie's (Jack Quaid) mommy issues.
The latest "Boys" 'verse spin-off, "Gen V," does not share its predecessor's foibles. The majority of its cast are women...

“The Boys” supervising sound editor Wade Barnett calls his 2023 Emmy nomination an “exciting moment,” and it’s one he’s experienced before as he was also nominated for Amazon Prime Video’s comic-book drama in 2020. This time around Barnett is up for his work on the Season 3 finale, “The Instant White-Hot Wild,” which streamed last July. Watch the exclusive video interview above.
One of the reasons the finale was chosen to be submitted to Emmy voters is because it “had a lot of really good sound design moments,” the artisan tells us. “But also the story kind of all wraps up, so overall it’s just a really solid episode.” He adds that it’s a “really tough” choice to pick just one, because “these episodes are almost kind of like mini-movies.”

As the SAG-AFTRA strike continues, several actors have come forward to share their residual checks. Streaming residuals stand as a major point of concern for both the Screen Actors Guild and the Writers Guild of America.
WGA captain Caroline Renard shared a TikTok from “P-Valley” star Brandee Evans. In the video, which was posted in May prior to the latest strike, Evans shares three residual checks from SAG-AFTRA. The first two checks are for $3.99 and $4.67, respectively, and the third one is for $0.01.

Don’t let the title “The Boys” fool you — Amazon Prime Video’s comic-book series also has girls! In fact, there are six female actors submitted for the 2023 Emmys for Season 3, which streamed last summer and is now eligible at the upcoming ceremony. Any fan of the pulpy genre publications of the 40s and 50s will tell you that comic-books have always had a love affair with horror. Unfortunately, the eventual rise of the Comics Code Authority meant that publishers could no longer depict mature subject matter in their books, resulting in an industry-wide shift to more accessible stories. This act of politically motivated censorship (which was mostly inspired by the ill-researched work of psychiatrist Fredric Wertham) is partially responsible for family-friendly superheroes dominating the once-diverse world of comics, something that the industry still hasn’t quite recovered from long after the “code” was deemed irrelevant.
However, there were some subversive writers like Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman that managed to spin legitimately chilling comic-book yarns without necessarily escaping the confines of super-hero stories, often exploring the dark side of these popular power fantasies. Stories like Watchmen and the Miracleman reboot paved the...

By the "The Boys" Season 3 finale, the once-united Supe-punching gang is a mess. While Hughie, M.M., Butcher, and Frenchie started Season 1 on a mission to takedown Vought's "heroes," the group now realizes their fight is more complex. Thanks to team members like Maeve, Kimiko, and Annie, the Boys finally understand that their short-term-focused approach to fighting Supes would long-term translate into a devastating genocide for humans who never asked to be Vought's experiments. Yes, Homelander is a huge problem, but that's due to the systemic issues that created him; the Boys have only made his rage worse. But Butcher, just like in the comic run the series is...

Santoshi Harada (Jirô Satô) has a plan. It concerns a three-million-yen reward for helping capture the infamous serial killer known as “No-Name” (Hiroya Shimizu). Santoshi says he saw him on the train to work. The man who’s been all over the news is inexplicably here in town, right now, and he’s pretty sure he knows where he can find him. Except, of course, that Santoshi is in no shape to “find” anyone. He’s been clinically depressed and unable to hold a full-time job since his wife’s (Tôko Narushima’s Kimiko) suicide. He can barely keep food in the fridge for his middle school-aged daughter Kaede (Aoi Itô) to cook. We literally meet her full-speed sprinting to scoop him up from the corner store after he was caught shoplifting.

Warning: contains spoilers for The Boys Seasons 1- 3.
We love The Boys, which is an outrageously gross and often hilarious take-down of celebrity culture, social media politics and even, occasionally, superhero stories. But we have one request for The Boys season 4 – let the female characters be as flawed as the boys!
Of course, every character in The Boys is flawed in some way, because it’s just that kind of world. And thanks to a number of male characters from the comic book series who have been gender-flipped for the show, the TV version does have a decent roster of flawed or outright villainous female characters. But in season 4, we’d love to see just a little more in the way of character flaws for the two central comics-origin female characters: Annie and Kimiko

Karen Fukuhara, who plays the invincible Kimiko on “The Boys,” has been carving out a space for herself in the action genre. The actress first broke out at Katana in 2016’s “Suicide Squad,” an apt debut for a martial arts champion who has training in both Karate and sword-fighting.
But Fukuhara is also adamant about pushing boundaries, as both an “advocate” for her characters and a performer who is looking to venture into new worlds — such as with the single-player horror video game “The Callisto Protocol,” which she spoke about for the first time in an interview with TheWrap.
“Working on a video game is such a different muscle than anything I had ever done before,” the Japanese American actress said, adding that the project has nearly concluded the production process.

The power dynamics of the Prime Video series "The Boys" got a major shake-up in season 3, as Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) revealed that his chest-beam could remove a supe's powers, and Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott) helped give Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and his Boys a type of temporary Compound V that can give them short-term superpowers. This post contains heavy spoilers for The Boys Season Three
By this point, it’s hardly worth saying that The Boys is shocking. The show has built its reputation by taking superheroes to their ghastly extreme, filling the screen with exploding heads and super-powered Nazis. That’s also certainly true of season three, which began with a shape-changing Supe blowing up his lover from the inside and took us through to Herogasm, which turned out to be just as depraved as promised.
But The Boys has never been just a show about gross-out moments. In adapting the independent comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, showrunner Eric Kripke has added thoughtful satire of American politics and rich character drama. More than nearly any other superhero series, The Boys has explored the nature of power in all of its forms.

This article contains major spoilers for The Boys Season 3
Even before the third season of The Boys hit Amazon Prime, showrunner Eric Kripke promised more superhero carnage than we’ve ever seen. Given all the gory depravity of seasons one and two, it would be understandable if viewers dismissed Kripke’s statements as nothing but hype. But within five minutes of the season premiere, all doubters were silenced. Things only got more intense from there, from the super-heroic hedonism of Herogasm to the increasing stakes of Butcher’s battle against Homelander.
How will the show cap off its craziest season? Only time will tell, but the previous seven episodes have done plenty of setup for what promises to be an explosive finale. Here’s what you need to know before watching episode eight, “The Instant White-Hot Wild.”

There aren't very many couples you can really root for on "The Boys," save maybe for the always adorable Hughie (Jack Quaid) and Starlight (Erin Moriarty) or the rough-and-tumble will-they-or-won't-they romance between Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) and Frenchie (Tomer Capone).
While Starlight and Hughie have faced their ups and downs, Frenchie and Kimiko have never quite taken their fledgling feelings further than a quick kiss, and in episode 7 of "The Boys" season 3, there's finally a resolution to question of their potential romance. It might not be the one some fans wanted, as Kimiko and Frenchie are adorable together and fans are quick to "ship" characters with such...

‘The Boys’ Star Tomer Capone on Frenchie’s Little Nina Trauma and His ‘Soulmate’ Feelings for Kimiko
Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “Here Comes a Candle to Light You to Bed,” the July 1 episode of “The Boys.”
“The Boys” fans who have been shipping Frenchie (Tomer Capone) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) for three seasons finally found out if the very dear friends will ever become something more with Friday’s second-to-last episode of the season. And while the decision made by the two — that they are more than lovers, they are family — may be one that breaks the hearts of some viewers, it’s the only way this relationship could have played out, according to star Capone.
“From day one, it was obvious to me and to Karen… we talked about it a lot and we read about it… what is soulmates? Does soulmates have to be someone you’re in love with, or you have an intimate relationship? And the answer is no,...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for The Boys Season 3 Episode 7, “Here Comes a Candle to Light You to Bed.”] Holy moly. Although some saw it coming, the major reveal involving Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) at the end of “Here Comes a Candle to Light You to Bed” is one of the biggest in The Boys’ history: a jaw-dropper that changes everything heading into Season 3’s final hour. Plus, Butcher (Karl Urban) relives his darkest recollections of his father, Hughie (Jack Quaid) teams up with Soldier Boy, and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) makes a shocking decision. Here’s how it happens. Courtesy of Prime Video Hughie, Butcher, and Soldier Boy go after Mindstorm, another member of Payback that Soldier Boy’s after. They track him to a cabin, where a self-medicated Soldier Boy (accidentally) sets off a land mine. Mindstorm then uses his powers on Butcher, which incapacitates him. With Butcher down, Hughie and Soldier Boy keep working...

Amid all of the explosions, alliances, revelations (this week is a doozy!) and body parts both detached and replicated in silicone, The Boys‘ third season has continued to find new ways to surprise us. Not just with shocks, Love Sausages and shots of Jensen Ackles‘ ass, either. In Season 3, the Prime Video hit has also elevated the slow-burn bond between Tomer Capone‘s Frenchie and Karen Fukuhara‘s Kimiko to a point where, oh my god, we’ve gotten musical numbers and sweetly romantic moments, free from the chaos of Butcher (Karl Urban) and Homelander (Antony Starr) trying to kill everyone. Can it last? Is love even a thing that can survive in the world of The Boys? Not if you’re Stormfront, Becca or whatever Hughie’s old girlfriend’s name was. Cupid was a total D to them, for sure. But according to Capone, the pairing of Frenchie...

Now that you have had a chance to process (and possibly block out) this week’s viscous “Herogasm” episode of The Boys, how about a palette cleanser of the more emotional variety? We recently chatted with cast members from Prime Video’s grisly hit and had the chance to talk about everything from finding new layers within their roles to the trickiest parts of pulling heads apart. In the first round of interviews, Jack Quaid and Karen Fukuhara zoomed in with insights about what is going on with Hughie and Kimiko this season. As fans have seen, Fukuhara’s “The Female” has spent much of year 3 without her Compound V-enhanced powers, but still having reasons to smile as she and Frenchie (Tomer Capon) grow close enough to have musical interludes. A far cry from her feral beginnings, for sure. (Credit: Prime Video) “In Season 3, we get to see her at...

On Amazon Studios’ hit corrupt-superhero series The Boys, Hughie (played by Jack Quaid) is a sensitive young man who’s increasingly eager to become a badass.
By contrast, his compatriot Frenchie — portrayed by Israeli actor Tomer Capone — has a long history as a hardened criminal (and he infamously killed the superhero Translucent with an “ass bomb” in season one of the show). But through each season of the outrageous series, Frenchie is increasingly guided by his heart, especially when it comes to his burgeoning relationship with Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara).
Capone — who previously acted in the Israeli series Fauda and When Heroes Fly — says he’s been touched by the response from the show’s fans to his portrayal of Frenchie and how his character has been able to connect to Kimiko, who is mute, through sign language.

Your eyes are not prepared for what they’re going to see during this Friday’s episode of Prime Video’s The Boys.
The much anticipated installment brings to life the infamous “Herogasm” comics storyline that features a bunch of supes having an orgy. Needless to say, there are a lot of explicit scenes that include “airborne penetration, dildo-based maiming, extra strength lube, icicle phalluses and cursing,” an official teaser video touts, adding that the episode “is not suitable for any audience.”

You just never know what you're going to get with "The Boys." In season 3 alone, after the release of the first five episodes, fans of the superhero satire have watched the rabidly anti-Supe Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) willingly gain temporary superpowers of his own, Homelander (Antony Starr) go off on another one of his terrifyingly psychopathic public displays of fascism again, and even a full-scale musical number starring the power couple of Frenchie (Tomer Capone) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara). And that doesn't even count the imminent threat of the upcoming "Herogasm" episode, which has come with months and months of anticipation, promising viewers that they'll...

Well, people have been waiting to see what Soldier Boy would finally do, and they got their answer. The previous episode already made it clear that he’s a little more than Butcher and the others might have been expecting, and nearly cost them Kimiko. Amazingly though, it would appear that she managed to get her wish since her quick healing and super strength have left her, a fact that she’s ecstatic about. Spoilers are coming, so if you haven’t seen the episode it might be wise to stop reading now or keep reading if you don’t like being surprised. But

Tomer Capone — the Israeli actor who’s broken into pop cultural consciousness through his fan-favorite turn as the empathetic yet troubled vigilante Frenchie on “The Boys” — begins his interview with TheWrap recounting a favorite story of his, that of his chaotic audition process for the uproarious Prime Video hit.
He had been vacationing in China after completing an Israeli project when he received an email about auditioning for the role. However, since he was due to go back to his home country to attend one of his close friends’ weddings a couple of days later, he asked for an extension. When he got the sense that it was “urgent,” he learned his lines on the plane and opted to shoot his tape between noon — after his flight landed — and the evening — when the wedding would commence in Tel Aviv.

"The Boys" wouldn't be the head-popping series it is without its many unexpected twists and turns. Amid all the explosive chaos happening in season three, which premiered on June 3, episode five finally gives viewers a small break from the show's gore and grossness - shockingly enough, with a full musical moment from Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) and Frenchie (Tomer Kapon).
"I felt like I was on a different show filming the musical number."
Fukuhara tells Popsugar she almost couldn't believe she got the chance to film such a lighthearted scene for the action-packed series, as her Supe character is almost always covered in blood (and someone else's guts). "I felt like I was on a different show filming the musical number because usually Kimiko is covered in blood or mud and she's barefoot and crawling around the train tracks and everything," she says. "That whole sequence was really special to me,...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched episode 5 of “The Boys” Season 3, titled “The Last Time to Look on This World of Lies.”
Despite playing Kimiko, the quietest member of the Boys, Karen Fukuhara is also one of the deadliest. “The Boys” star has plenty of fighting experience, having played Katana in DC Comics’ “Suicide Squad,” and years of martial arts training, but Season 3 of Prime Video’s adult superhero show threw two new challenges at her: fighting with dildos and performing a song-and-dance number.
The brutal and hilarious dildo fight scene took place in last week’s episode of “The Boys,” which featured a trove of superhero-themed adult toys in a Russian gangster’s bedroom. But instead of the dildos being used for their intended purposes, Kimiko gouged mobsters’ faces with them as a Russian version of “I Will Survive” soundtracked the violence. The dildo...

Literally speaking, Jamie is hardly the biggest part of The Boys, in comics or live-action. After all, he’s just a hamster, a furry little fuzzball that most people met in the season three episode “Glorious Five-Year Plan.” But this insignificant rodent, and the way he’s used in both versions of the story, illustrate the cruel humor of the source material and the surprisingly humane story Eric Kripke and his collaborators are telling on television.
On the show, Jamie appears in a Russian lab, where Butcher (Karl Urban) and the Boys are searching for a weapon to kill Homelander (Antony Starr). Frenchie (Tomer Kapon) and M.M. (Laz Alonso) quickly learn that the cute hamster locked in a cage is actually full of Compound V, which grants it the abilities of flight, superstrength, and superspeed. There are a lot of dangerous people in the world of the Prime Studios superhero series "The Boys." Some of them are on the side of relative good, like the talented and empathetic Starlight (Erin Moriarty) or the butt-kicking Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara). Then there's the sociopathic Superman knock-off Homelander (Antony Starr) and the head of the Federal Bureau of Superhuman Affairs, Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit), who are not so altruistic.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “Glorious Five Year Plan,” the June 10 episodes of “The Boys.”
The week’s episode of “The Boys” Season 3 was all about super powers — yes, more so than any standard episode of the Amazon superhero series. That’s because it delved into people getting them (Jack Quaid’s Hughie), people losing them (Karen Fukuhara’s Kimiko), people confessing they have acquired them (Karl Urban’s Butcher) and people showing off the bonkers new ones bestowed upon them by the Russians who experimented on them (Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy).
Let’s start with Hughie, who upon learning that Butcher has been shooting up Temp V decided he needs to protect Annie (Erin Moriarty), despite the fact Starlight is more than capable of taking care of herself, and takes some of Butcher’s V and uses it to give himself some 24-hour super powers.

This article contains spoilers for The Boys season 3 episode 4.
Midway through The Boys season 3 episode 4 “Glorious Five Year Plan” Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) delivers a dire warning to Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid) about the dangers of the new Compound-v spinoff drug, V24.
“Hughie, it’s not power. It’s punishment. And you don’t deserve none of it,” Butcher says.
Butcher’s words are powerful but they ultimately fall flat with the power-hungry Hughie – and not only because they resemble Tim Meadows’ “you don’t want no part of this shit” speech from Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.
No, Butcher’s warning fails because in the world of The Boys, much like our own, power is intoxicating. Who wouldn’t want to gain supernatural abilities? Especially if it meant keeping you and yours safe from other super-powered individuals. Thankfully for The Boys, the show’s premise allows its characters...
