Andrew Jarecki is an American filmmaker, musician, and entrepreneur. He is best known for the Emmy-winning 2015 HBO documentary series "The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst" that led to the arrest and imprisonment of Mr. Durst. He is also known for documentary film "Capturing the Friedmans," which won eighteen international prizes including the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival and the New York Film Critics Circle award, and was nominated for an Academy Award. He produced the documentary film "Catfish" and the eponymous MTV television series. With JJ Abrams, he co-wrote and performed the theme song for the WB Network television series Felicity (1998), and with CrabCorps, he produced music for the film "Silver Linings Playbook." He also co-founded Moviefone and created the KnowMe iOS platform.
He is a graduate of Princeton University where he was a theatrical director. He resides in New York City.
