Right from his first play ‘Where There’s a Will’ in 1986, playwright and director Mahesh Dattani brought contemporary Indian realities to theatre and approached modern issues and relationships with a fresh perspective. Zee Theatre’s ‘Big Fat City’ is no exception and here Mahesh dwells upon the harried life in Mumbai and on people who are stuck in the cycle of unmet needs and desires.
Actor Shilpa Shukla is thrilled that she got an opportunity to work with Dattani and says, “When he called me for ‘Big Fat City’, I couldn’t believe it and it has been such a learning curve in my life. I’m now able to love the craft a lot more. There is no monotony around it. Words can’t describe how much I learned from him, his observations on life, and his whole being. Ashutosh Gowarikar's wish to have a solo release is just not working out. Producer Anjum Rizvi (of A Wednesday fame) is having his release Fast Forward with What's Your Rashee on September 25. The producer had announced his release date as August 21, and has now postponed it to September with Harman-Priyanka starrer. Initially, it was Madhur Bhandarkar's Jail and David Dhawan's Do Knot Disturb, which were playing an obstacle to Ashutosh. Finally after calling several meetings with the Producers Association (Imppa), Ashutosh had managed to have a solo release. Producer Anjum Rizvi says, "Yes, I have to postpone the film to September 25. Because of swine flu, we decided to push the movie and selected for that date. Since the coming weeks have a lot of releases lined up, we didn't want to clutter." Didn't you have to pay any fine? He says, "No it doesn't imply to us.

The glamorous lady who is a part of Anjum Rizvi’s forthcoming release ‘Fast Forward’ almost had Vinod Khanna irked right on the first day of their shoot.
From what we hear, Bhavna Pani reported almost an hour late for the shoot. Well no, it wasn’t some starry tantrums she was throwing around, but a miscommunication owing to which she was informed of a wrong timing to report.
However after reaching the set, she learnt Vinod Khanna and the rest of the team, which consisted of almost 500 people, had only been waiting for her to start off.
A completely nervous lady didn’t.
